If you use your vacuum sealer attachment to vacuum out the air, it will last longer. Just a suggestion. Great way to make a lot of desserts!
Not so. Those contraptions don't seal as well.
Actually they're awesome if you consider a few things: I add an oxygen absorber packet AND a coffee filter on top of any fluffy powder mixes so that fine powder doesn't get sucked up in the seal AND I purchased a manual suction pump (kind of like a bike-tire pumping action but it sucks instaed of blows). I freeze my grains & rice 3+ days to kill bug eggs then dehydrate in low heat oven in case the freezer added moisture. Once dry, tranfer to clean jars & pump away! The manual pump is narrow enough to tuck in a drawer AND berries & lettuce last super long if a mason jar is lined with a paper towel & all the air is sucked out!
@@gofigure4920 mine works great. Maybe it's the type you're using? I have a rechargeable one I got on Amazon for 40.00. Well worth what I paid
@@donnas2375 also, using a Ziploc vacuum (loaned my pump n seal out and alas it didn't come back), every couple of weeks or so if you're concerned, go back thru your stockpile and re-vacuum. Since my pump n seal didn't come home, and if you can find them they're Expensive, I lost all my yellow tabs so I'm using high quality electrical tape, I actually tape, vacuum and tape again. But if shtf, I'll re-vacuum every month or so.
I love to bake in my grill, a gas grill can be used as an oven also. I use it to bake my biscuits when we are off grid. They work great
Absolutely! That's great!
Gas Grills are versatile..But " What if", it's a long term event? DOES ANYONE HAVE ENOUGH TANKS, OR PROPANE IS SCARIOUS..
BUT...Do enjoy Grill too...Have Safe Day...♥️🌹
@@wickedprepared I made this bread and it was very dense and kind of had a rubbery consistency something like Hawaiian mochi. It tasted pretty good it just didn’t have the consistency you associate with quick bread. I used my own FD milk and eggs(duck eggs) and raspberries. Do you think that would have caused the consistency difference?
Jara, I have watched you for about 3 or 4 years. I love your meals in a jar and all your prepping skills. And I need your help with Thrive. I do better on phone, I have seizures.
🍓🫐 I didn't find a raspberry 😊
I think you need to add the water, then let the mixture sit a little while to absorb it. You have freeze-dried fruit, dehydrated milk, dehydrated butter, and dehydrated milk, so all that will take a little time to rehydrate. It might look like there is too much liquid but give it time. I actually thought you might need to add more water than that, but just give it time before deciding.
Thanks for the tips!
I just love your ambition, creativity, and initiative in seeking out and using your knowledge to put ALL of these recipes together and then sharing them with us all. Thank you for doing the hard part (which seems to be your passion) of converting and ideas in general. I'm much older than you (last year of my 50's!) and my brain is tired from career-centered work. I used to be able to create and/or follow recipes but now I have to read things 4 and 5 times while I'm putting something together and STILL make mistakes! Gahhh! Anyway, thanks so much for all you do for your community here on YT and beyond!
Aww thank you so much! That's very kind of you to say! This truly is a passion of mine and I'm so grateful to be able to help people through this platform. I never EVER would have imagined being on RUclips, but here I am! And loving every minute of it 😊
Wait till you get to your 70's! I read and re-read several times!
I am new to your channel and love the idea of meals in a jar. The breads in a jar are a great addition to them! They would be a wonderful little gift for a man or a woman! It doesn’t get any easier than just add water!
Thank you so much! Jar meals and mixes are my favorite!! They're great for so many things! Thank you for watching!
OKAY, now on to savory breads 🍞, please?❤ I used to make a cheesy bread with peppers and onions but haven't seen the recipe in a while. Hmmm...
I just made bacon cheddar cheese bread and apple walnut, no knead artisan bread, delicious
@@barbarafallin2038
Would you be willing to share the recipe?
I think that slivered almonds would be good in the raspberry/almond mix!
JARA: Check out Heidi at Rain Country......her husband makes a device that gets the air out of mason jars and seals them. That should extend the shelf life of your mixes that contain sugar😊.
Hope this is helpful 😊.
Food savers have an attachment that does that too.
It's just a brake bleeder. You don't need the pressure cooker.
I always vacuum seal my dehydrated/dry goods in jars. And it's super easy to do and it lasts for years and years that way.
New subscriber here. Love the whole “meal in a jar” idea. Especially this one. These quick breads are going to become Christmas presents. Question: do you have a video that lists what you keep in your pantry? I’ll be going through you library over the next few days but was wondering if there was a list of raw ingredients to keep on hand.
Try See Mindy Mom she had the pantry
omg so excited to try this! Love all of your posts but not many - if any- recipes for breads...this might be my most favorite yet! THANK YOU!
Glad you like them!
I love these types of videos that help me prep with recipes other family member can help in the kitchen with. I always worry I will fall ill and they can have these meals to cook or share with a neighbor who needs simple help. such a good thing.
Love the sweet breads!!
I didn’t have a raspberry so I hope the strawberry will do 😊🍓
I think that would be great! Definitely be sure to crush them up .. that'll be delicious!
That looks so good!!! ❤ Thank you for posting this.
You forgot the best off-grid cooking method: the Sun Oven! (Solar Oven) 🍞 🥞 🥖
I love mine!!!!
Those look absolutely delicious! I love this! 💜
Thank you! Great video and love how you make things look quick and easy! 🍓
I just found your channel. I love how convenient this would make baking. I'm going to try some of these. They look so yummy! 🍞
Thank you so much for sharing these!! I can't wait to make some up. I was surprised that you didn't mention this, but I'm assuming that you could substitute FD strawberries for the raspberries. I'm wondering if you could sub FD blueberries, in the same quantity. I guess maybe you could use FD apples (or applesauce), and add some cinnamon. These look wonderful, and I'm so happy that you shared them! You are a great cook, by the way. I love your channel!
Yes you absolutely could substitute other berries or even a combination of berries. I do think it would still be best to break them up a bit (unless you're at the end of your can and it's a lot of bits already) because I think they could all have a tendency to float in the batter.
I'm new to your channel, and omg, You have sold me on this
This is wonderful!
Thank you!
Fantastic idea to have dried butter and eggs on hand like that! The raspberry loaves look delicious!
Love this idea, thank you! 😊
I LOVE this! I would love to give these as gifts for my sisters ❤ Thanks!!
This is great! Thank you very much
You have really helped me out. Thank you for your useful recipes ❤
That plate of the finished products looks yummy. I always love your videos with recipes and I keep them all in a notebook, but my very favorite idea from this video is the chopstick and plastic spoon in the flour. I'm sure it will help my baked goods be lighter and fluffier.
Thank you for the good ideas.
This was fantastic THANKYOU
❤. Great video. Clean wholesome ingredients
WOW! Those all look amazing. Thank you.
You are so welcome!
They are nice to give as gift too, Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤
So many wonderful products I'm just learning from your channel :) Thank you!
These look so good.
I’m not much of a baker but I’m curious if you can add yeast to your mix perhaps between the flour and the powdered milk ❤
Thank you!🦋💜
You are so welcome!
This is amazing! Thank you for sharing. I just happened to stumble upon your video and are now a new subscriber. Will need to search for a few items as I'm in New Zealand. I'm definitely a best of both kinda girl. I love home baked but also the box stuff when time is an issue, so this is perfect for me. So convenient!! 💞
EXCELLENT Video!! 👍🏻👍🏻
What a great idea!!❤
Thank you! 😊
I enjoyed that.
Thinking about trying it.
Thank You. 🍇🍇🍇
Loved your video!
Bless your heart for sharing because this is a great, I know it took time. ❤Thank you😊🍓 no raspberry images
I vacuum seal jars that contain powders by laying a percolator disc filter on top of the powders to keep them from getting sucked into the vacuum.
Great meals, thank you
Such an interesting video and having watched, I was not disappointed. Thank you.
🍓I really like this concept. Thank you
Loved this! I have never seen any of your videos. This was recommended and I subscribed. I can’t wait to try some of these and create some of my own flavored breads too. Thank you for this idea and I can’t wait to see more of your videos. ❤️👍
Delicious looking and very creative.
Thank you!! 😊
Thank you for all your wisdom.
I just happened upon your videos & I love them! They make me want to hop up & get busy in the kitchen! Thank you for all the work you do preparing these videos. You are VERY knowledgeable! I have subscribed & cant watch them enough! 😊
And as a first time viewer I really like this idea and shared it to my sister. She cans meals in a jar..
Bless u 🙏🙏🙏
I keep a long handled spoon (like you get with ice cream or milkshakes at restaurants) with my flour and pancake mixes. That way I can scoop and level with one tool.
♥♥♥ your recipe!
Thank You
I love Thrive Life foods, they’re incredible!!
Thank you
A new convert.. I will be checking the site out. Wonderful recipe.
I make everything from scratch. Instead of jars we vacumn pack our mixes.
Good morning! I got my thrive life order! I'm excited! Thank you for the great ideas!
Good morning Ashli! 😀 Thank YOU for watching! 😁😁😁
Thank you ☺️ This was perfect. Just what I have been looking for. I imagine you can use any fruit 🤔
Thank you great recipes.
I love to bake and cook from scratch. May God bless you and your channel.
Thanks! Love these!
I’m really enjoying learning from you! Thanks for your awesome videos!
These breads look SO delicious! 🍓
PS, love your show and the jars. GOD BLESS
I'm pretty sure sugar acts like a preservative of sorts. It is a forever food. Consider putting the sugar in last to seal the other ingredients inside. I love these ideas! I'm always looking for an easier way to make breads.
Yes! Very true, good point!
Did you know that harvest right freeze dryer Co., offers layaway 😊 . I JUST PAID MINE OFF . GOD BLESS
I love bakers secret pan spray for baking you can see if you miss a spot so you can respray the spots you miss for better coverage
Thank you again Jara. These recipes look great. I love raspberries.
You are so welcome!
My husband and I purchased our HR freeze dryer last year. We need to make meals with the individual foods. Thank you!
Love your ideas
Thank you! 😊
@@wickedprepared you are very welcome
Here you are. I looked all over utube for your site yesterday and could not find you. And today you popped up on my feed. Looking for minute rice mixes to jar up.
I can't wait to try this. I recently, had a blueberry lemon cookie that was wonderful. I think I will try that, too.
Oh my.... yummy! 😋
That’s just wonderful !!
Great video!! Again!! 💚
I usually make my own quick breads, but I have been known to bust out a Martha White muffin mix from time to time 😅
I've got a quick bread video idea that I'm about to film too. Absolutely love your videos and I feel so inspired when I watch them🤩 I'm hoping you'll be at convention so I can meet you!🤞🏻 Have a wonderful day!
Aww thank you so much!! That's so nice! Yes, my husband and I will be there at convention! 😊😊😊 Can't wait!
@@wickedprepared YAY!!!
That bundt cake looks fire!
You could always put your sugar in at a later date and keep all the other ingredients as you have listed in the jar!
Love your videos. Thank you.
Hi! New to the channel, and am now subscribed! I am definitely a "from scratch" kinda person, but I do make my own mixes for things like pancakes, waffles and soups, and my own spices mixes. Having some quick bread type recipes in a jar that can be done so quickly is gonna be super useful also. The only thing I have difficulty sourcing here is butter powder. Its not really available. Thank you so much for sharing. Much love from the UK
🍋🫐 Thanks, I’m going to try this with lemon blueberry muffins!
Thank you for the recipe!
Love it
I love this! Need to get a couple of the special ingredients, thanks so much for sharing these recipes! Have a great day!🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼🌸🍓(couldn’t find a raspberry emoji)
My raspberry emoji is hiding from me 😂. Thanks for another great video! Great recipe for gift giving and I never knew almond powder existed. I will be acquiring that little gem♥️
There is a magnifying glass icon in your icon list. Put what you are looking for in the search bar that pops up.
I got all sorts of fruit but not a raspberry. Love the idea of preparation like this so i only need to add water. Thank you.
Lil bit of both. This was very interesting! Thanks for sharing and giving me an education!
Strange enough a pot on a single burner portable stove filled with water a small grill rack inside and a pot inside cover makes a pretty moist cake or bread you just won't get much of the browning. So if you don't have access to a oven or a grill which can make a good oven you might want to try it
Oh my gosh yes this is a great tip! This reminds me of two things...a backpacking trip with a class in high school where we were introduced to something called the ""bakepacker" that used this very concept except the bread cooked inside a plastic bag on a rack in the pot- we made cornbread. And a Girl Scout camping trip where we put muffin batter into unwaxed paper cups and into a covered pot with a shallow layer of simmering water and made steamed muffins. Thank you so much for this tip and reminder!
We do batch cooking. Really nice having frozen cooked food ready tp warm ans serve
Jara, SO sorry I missed your presentation the other night. How did it go? We had unexpected company who just didn't want to leave. I love this bread in a jar! Looks delicious! You really are a superior presenter! Blessings!🍓(closest thing to a Raspberry I could find! lol
I freeze dry all my chicken eggs as well as most of our cow milk. I like the large chunks of eggs we because that make beautiful scrambled eggs.
I have really enjoyed your videos!!
If you use a wood mallet pack it down tight then I put a clean dry coffee filter put it in the inch head space then the lid and vacuum sealer jar adapter and vacuum seal the jar
I am both my preparedness is not ready yet.😀
🍓no raspberry lol. Hello. Love all your ideas!
Yay! Thank you!
Your powdered egg recommendation is ingenious.
Love this video thank you raspberry emoji not found
I’m so glad I found you here. Love all you do! These videos are so much better than FB
Wow, thank you!
Raspberry emoji....I don't have one. Thank you for these receipe ideas!!
