Welcome to the rabbit hole that is Jinjer!! Love your reaction! This Ukrainian progressive metal juggernaut has been ripping it up for about 10 years, witch is a huge testament to "Tati's" vocal stamina!! And her band members are all monster players and composers as well. They have MANY studio and live videos that are great, and in fact I like to boast that this band simply does not have a bad song!! But that said, I would do the following in this order: "Judgment and Punishment" - Single Take Studio Performance, then do "Teacher, Teacher" Official Video, next do "Ape" Official Video (seriously progressive tune...!), and last stir it up a bit with an older song "Sit.Stay. Roll Over" Official Video; but uuhhh - better hang on to your seat for this one!! After that, just pick anything - they really are that good!! The band:
    Tatiana Shmailyuk - vocals
    Roman Ibramkhalilov - guitars
    Vladislav Ulasevich - drummer
    Eugene Abdiukhanov - bass

Tatiana is the lead vocal, Eugene bassist, Roman guitarist, and Vlad drummer. All from Ukraine and speak English and their native language Russian. Band started in 2009/2010, Eugene and Roman are the closest to the original members. Tatiana came in shortly after and Vlad about 6 years later. Obviously everyone loves Tatiana "The Goddess", including myself, but the band members are so technical and talented. The lyrics to their songs have so much meaning and imagery. Most dealing with nature, the environment, and the powers that be.

I like your reactions, subbed :). Yep, welcome to the rabbit hole that is Jinjer :). Jinjer is my favorite band now and I typically don't listen to metal. Nightwish is also great..the only other metal band I listen to.
I'd suggest Who is going to be the one (live - lots of growls and very low ones and a cool switch up), Pisces (live session - typically the first Jinjer song people react to - love this!), Teacher, Teacher (official video), Judgement (&Punishment) one take vocal - great video to showcase her technique and switching up vocals, On the Top (music video and live in Kiev), I Speak Astronomy (official video - love this one), Pit of Consciousness (official video and live in Kiev), Home Back (official video - a very personal song and message from the band). Well, honestly I love all their stuff :)

Pisces by Jinger is perhaps the most popular reaction video on You Tube during the past couple of years as it catches people by surprise after they get fooled by the soft Jazzy start and then shocks most people who have never heard scream/growls when she lets them really rip. And of course large groups of sadists send reactors several requests for Reactors to react to Pisces hoping they will get another person to go into shock or like the one lady reactor spit out her tea. LMAO It has over 50 million views and some of the reactions are hilarious as they are superstitious and think at first that demons suddenly possessed her. Many just can't believe that it is her own voice it is so male sounding.
The sound quality is excellent as it is called a live studio version but they did clean it up a bit post production and layered her singing with her own voice in parts. You get good closeups of the boys playing their instruments and Tatiana is very expressive and at times menacing in her movements and facial expressions. I personally just love her hair flip after just belting out some impressive vocals in her normal voice near the end. You might bring the lyrics with you as the growls are very difficult to make out the words she is singing, but they tell an interesting story that sound deep depending how you interpret them. I have trouble hearing normal lyrics unless they sing in a very clear way. Unfortunately I had too big of a stereo in too small of a car in my wild teen years. hehe

How fortunate of you to experience your first listen to Jinjer AND Band-Maid in the same session. Interesting fact about Jinjer: none of the band know the meaning behind the name Jinjer as none of the current members are founding members.
My suggestion for your next Jinjer reaction would be the official studio video for "I Speak Astronomy". Tatiana's vocals at the end give me goosebumps every time I hear them. It also amazes me how wonderful and meaningful Tati's lyrics are as they are written in her second language.
I assure you I'm not a troll nor would I ever be rude.

First off, I'm loving your eye make-up combo, secondly, your hair looks fine. To your reaction: it's interesting that you weren't over-enthused by Jinjer. This is not common. Most reactors are wowed by Tatiana's vocal dexterity (which you gave full credit to when she switched so quickly from growls to cleans), this makes me think you are a musician yourself - piano in background supports this idea?). It strikes me that you need your intellect stimulating as much as your feelings (I'm with you on that!) so I would recommend having the lyrics to Jinjer's tracks open in another window, Tatiana is a wonderful lyricist and the songs accrue much more depth when you know what she is singing about. In interview, she has repeatedly stated how much the words mean to her and it's definitely a standout feature of their work.
I could go on and on about this band, I discovered them in March 2019 through 'Pisces' and I have fallen in love with them ever since. The whole combo, the musicality, the 'edge' of what they do fascinates me. I'm 57 and a lifelong metalhead and Jinjer are, to me, one of the best bands I've encountered in my lifetime. I say all of this to encourage you to drill a bit deeper into this Ukrainian powerhouse. They've already been recommended in other comments, but may I suggest 'Judgement & Punishment' live one-take vocal performance, 'I Speak Astronomy (Official Video)', 'On The Top live in Kiev' as further possibilities for your time? 'Pisces' Live in studio is the usual cherry-popper and is absolutely worth a look too. These four will give a sense of the range of their compositional skill, but one of the things with Jinjer is that they deliver the unexpected. Hope to see more. Subbed in case you do.

  • @Dark__Thoughts
    @Dark__Thoughts 3 года назад

Captions only work if someone went through and added the lyrics manually, which is almost never the case. It's better to go through them separately. The song has a double meaning, being about seasons, as well as seasonal depression, which usually hit around fall, right when nature "dies", and go away during spring, when nature comes back to life. There is also a slight detail / change in lyrics when she does this song live: In the lyrics and official video she sings twice "no, we're not dead", but live she sings "no, you're not dead" the second time, directly addressing the crowd.
The usual cherry popper for Jinjer is the live sessions of Pisces (it's a proper studio recording, so don't be confused here), which was a re-recording of an older song to show off their (at the time) new drummer, who made the song sound quite a bit differently. The vocalists name is Tatiana, Roman on the guitar, Eugene on the bass and Vlad on the drums (since 2016). They are from Ukraine, the first three of them from the now occupied zone in eastern Ukraine. They fled when the war came and were practically on tour ever since (hundreds of shows in the last couple years alone), until covid came along, which is their longest break without touring.
If you do only live stuff, then my suggestions would be:
Who Is Gonna Be The One live
On The Top live in Kiev
Pit Of Consciousness live in Kiev
Judgement & Punishment live in Melbourne
Practically anything from the Melbourne show is great, which is available on RUclips in its entirety too, including time stamps and it has good audio and video quality. So if you like Jinjer, this might be a good show to dissect into its songs. There is also No Hoard Of Value - Live in Paris (feat Unicorn) 09/05/2017, which is not the best quality but a very lighthearted and funny show of an actually kinda serious topic about the hazardous coal mining industry of their home region (Donbass region) - the song got a great lyric video too but I highly recommend the live one as well, for a laugh.
As for Nightwish, I would do the End Of An Era stuff with Tarja, starting with maybe their cover of Phantom of the Opera.

Good call not to upload "Let it go", so many reactions to that song, and if you don't like it, (me neither), and have not much to say about it...
I suggest you react to the Finnish band Amorphis, to hear male growling. The vocalist Tomi Joutsen has a deep low growl, quite pleasant to my ears, but I love his clean vocals, he uses both styles on practically all songs.
I like "Death of a King" Official Video. "The Bee" is a favorite of many fans, a great song, I agree. Amorphis lyrics are influenced by the stories of the Finnish national epic Kalevala. I saw Amorphis on three consecutive nights mid October, each concert covered one particular decade of Amorphis, 30th anniversary concerts. I was impressed. They played two identical gigs each night.
I don't even know exactly why I feel the need to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway. The fact that you are reacting to Nightwish is more than enough for me. You don't owe me a reaction to any song I recommend to you.

That's the problem: it makes for great "reactions" - *IF* your idea of a great reaction is nothing but shocking, scaring, or confusing people. That makes you a heartless dick, though. @@garyballard179 - Jinjer is mildly surprising to most people, and sure... some are confused as to whether she is actually making those sounds herself. No, dumbass, it's not just 'mildly surprising' to people who don't listen to metal, let alone death metal. It's that kind of juvenile behavior that turns people off of metal. If you don't understand that, then you don't need to be suggesting music to reactors. *Most* reactors are just looking to hear new music, not entertain you with over-the-top reactions. Leave the bullshit pranks for the fake reactors, not the real ones.
