I have struggled against depression for 28 years. My first full body panic attack was at age 6. I was in and out of the hospital and no one could figure out what was wrong with me. Been on and off meds. The system is so so so broken.
It's only recently that I realized it could be so connected to diet! (I discounted that in the past because I eat so "healthy"-- lots of fresh veggies, fermented foods, meat) But I am going to do a reset with carnivore and then add back in other foods. I also am starting emdr so hopefully that makes a difference too. I'm throwing spaghetti at the wall at this point. I have no ego tried to what ends up working haha
My crippling mental illness was cured by a road trip. Getting out of the hectic city allowed my nervous system to rest. Learned environment was causing mine. Since then my main healing strategy has been calming the nervous system. Listening to classical & opera walking barefoot in the forest taking in the movement of the trees then eating teff for lunch 😂 a few years ago I was living in one of the largest city listening to metal driving 95 mph eating hot dogs.. Boy how things have changed. ♡♡♡ I feel your pain and wish I could give you the biggest hug in the world, sweets ♡♡♡
Yes the system is broken. I experimented with a thousand different healing ideas n strategies before one worked. Keep going ♡ Peace is around the corner ♡ besides Einstein failed 399 times before the light bulb was invented ... or was that tesla. 😅.. idk. Either way- one of the great inventors of history tried & tried & tried for years and years knowing it would happen- and it did ♡
So cool to see my two worlds cross over in the one video! Mikhaila is amazing and her sharing her health testimony changed my life. Went carnivore, changed my health and life forever. Very grateful for her!
Husband and I have been on the carnivore diet for 100 days and have never been healthier. He is off cholesterol meds and now starting to get off of his BP meds. He is down 40 lbs and I am down 25lbs. Inflammation is gone!
I have been thinking about it for years. I have never done it. I am so addicted to carbs & dairy. I imagine there will be withdrawal. your comment is inspiring. I might do it. (but not forever)

Severely lethargic, and unmotivated. 70 pounds over weight) On a ketogenic/ Lion Diet, I lost all of the weight I gained, and I am functioning like a normal person now. It’s amazing that she gets the message out and helps people regain their independence. I’m eternally grateful ☺️
Thank you for acknowledging psych med withdrawal! It is absolute hell! I also had two years of withdrawal and will probably struggle for the rest of my life from being overly prescribed those awful drugs.

Being depressed for some people I know is like not being able to get out of bed/get off the couch/getting exhausted doing a simple task requiring some sort of effort! I do agree that if you have a problem = YOU have to figure it out with the help and NOT DEPENDANCE on a provider who's got a TON of their own problems - but that's a different conversation for another time!

In 24 yrs of practice I have only had 2 trans patients. One is even female which throughout history is incredibly rare. They transitioned many years ago. They are appalled at what is happening now. They do not discuss their transition publicly ever. Their whole desire has been to live normally as the other sex and they have done that. They are hard working and well respected in the community. They pass and are accepted by everyone by default because they NEVER draw attention or use their lifestyle as a bludgeon. Hi Optometrist here. I am able to prescribe certain medications. I have reps come in and they are able to sponsor meals but that’s about it. I do not get “paid” to prescribe a certain medication. It’s very regulated. There’s actually a website where you can look up how much each doctor has received from reps and how it compares to national average. I’m not sacrificing my career to prescribe a specific medication for boxed sandwich and chips 😂.
Yes, I looked up my neurologist and she had been paid over $300,000 in the prior three years from the drug reps pushing the meds she was pushing on me. Maybe in optometry it's just lunches. But in specialties that focus on drugging people for life, it's a different story.
@@elizabethwilk9615 openpaymentsdata.cms.gov/physician/1495175 In the year 2022 I “received payment” for $579.42. Food and beverage was $503.43 and education was $75.99. I was average for my specialty in 2022.
An optometrist is very different from mental health and general doctors who describe medicine for weight , you basically told us you’re a veterinarian… not less important but a very different lane
What you're saying is correct. However, I believe there have been studies done showing that even just meals or free samples are enough to leave an impression on the prescribing doctor. Then the prescribing doctor is more likely to prescribe those drugs.

I was having cognitive issues at my toxic government job. The administration at work wanted me to determine the cause and then report the qualifying conditions for their assessment. I could not do that because my conditions were real. Had they been fraudulent I would have had the capacity to use the cognition I had, but claimed I did not. I ended up taking a "voluntary" demotion that did not affect my retirement pension and retiring eight years later receiving lower wages in the meantime. There were other employees whose performance was not monitored closely due to a preferred status. Our country deserves better than a government that is itself a social welfare program.
I was shocked to learn much of the weight I was carrying was edema. Afterwards I worked with a professional to get trough a trauma and that ended up giving me the capacity to naturally fight off depression and gave me the me tal knowledge and capacity to identify and counter the signs of a new depressive wave. I would like to add that there are side effects to this diet. The carnivore diet/starch free diet impact your bowel movements. You go #2 less and your body acts like you’re constipated which is tough on your intestines and colon.
From an evolutionary perspective, the lion diet makes a lot of sense. People who live in areas far from the equator tend to be more prone to depression and eating a predominately meat diet signals to your body (and therefore probably causes epigenetic changes) that hey, it's winter. If my hypothesis is correct, she could probably enjoy fruits and veggies in summer and then switch back to meat for winter.

Yes i love this petersen, she got me so many new girls to watch. Pretty, dumb and stupid as well.
I have struggled against depression for 28 years. My first full body panic attack was at age 6. I was in and out of the hospital and no one could figure out what was wrong with me. Been on and off meds. The system is so so so broken.
How are you doing now? Have you tried elimination diet?

So glad you had Mikhaila on, she and her father have exceptional stories about personal experiences especially about health! Love this conversation!

I asked smart neighbors how are X-rays made? I knew, but wanted to see if they did. Unfortunately, they did not know, so I told them. There are all kind of weird stuff that I know about all kinds of strange topics. I am constantly learning new engineering, chemistry, physics, computer science, economic, history, and legal things every day or so. I don't want to be entertained but want to better know the nature of reality by knowledge seeking all the time. I want to be sense making rather than nonsense believing. I want to know criticisms of medical studies, statistics, probability theory, distribution curve calculations, factor analysis, complete Eigen value solutions, optimizing algorithms and more hard science information.
I seem NOT to get along very well with nonsense makers and nonsense believers.
The 1st thing she described sounds like anxiety, I’ve never heard of hyper vigilance being associated with depression
she's talking out of her arse
It was nice seeing a side of her I've not heard her talk about in other interviews. Congrats on a very enjoyable podcast:)
The apple didn't fall far from the tree! She had a lot of very good insights!
Thanks for yet another great interview guys!
I love Mikhaila Peterson! I’m schizophrenic and I’m using a Lion Diet to put my symptoms in remission. I think it’s so great she shares her experiences with people so they can heal too. I was hallucinating and delusional in my late twenties, then medicated for 6 years in my thirties (it’s not comfortable.
Going through SSRI withdrawal right now. Absolutely scary and horrible... Barely any resources online....

Thank you for acknowledging psych med withdrawal! It is absolute hell! I also had two years of withdrawal and will probably struggle for the rest of my life from being overly prescribed those awful drugs.
1:41:00 - yup. The not needing someone but wanting a partner was where I was at and wanted to be at before dating. That, and super sensitive to weird-vibes kept me from dating until college. Wasnt worried about money- had worked all through HS and had a good savings built up. Definitely helped me be less nervous of the future and unsure of myself. I knew I could work. If I didnt have that confidence idk if that would've changed when/who I got married to, but wouldve felt more stress for sure.
I’m ready to watch you guys interview Jordan Peterson! I’ve been waiting for that for a long time.
I really wish they would give a much better introduction to the guests. I don't know most and all we get is a name at the beginning.
They did she is Jordan Peterson daughter.
I Goggle the name, it helps a lot.
I noticed that- a bit strange, but at the same time, I wonder if it keeps people from bailing so quick if they dont know who it is vs someone their "side" deems as evil and untouchable lol
I wish Joe Rogan would do the same
She’s Jordan Peterson’s daughter. She’s been sick her whole life. Had both hips replaced by the time she turned 18. Started eating only meat and now feels way better. She doesn’t think everyone should try carnivore but if you’re sick it might be worth looking at

I used to just changing the bed linens, I felt exhausted and would crawl back into bed, unable to do laundry on same day. I got out of it, don't ask me how. Well, yes, ask me, lots of prayers

Cancer : I read an article not long ago, after it was mentioned in a video. - As i understand it... If you mitochondria is healthy, you CAN NOT get cancer. Cancer only "shows up" if your mitochondria isn't 100%.
Put into that, what you will... But i think that's an accurate assessment...
They are simply a slightly feminine looking man and a slightly masculine looking woman living in rural Tennessee.

Name of website?
Yes, I looked up my neurologist and she had been paid over $300,000 in the prior three years from the drug reps pushing the meds she was pushing on me. Maybe in optometry it's just lunches. But in specialties that focus on drugging people for life, it's a different story.

In the year 2022 I “received payment” for $579.42.
Mikhaila is so well spoken I just like listening to her talk. Good episode especially the talk about relationships and personality

Love you M
Sorry you suffered

I was shocked to learn much of the weight I was carrying was edema. I lost 30 lbs of water in 5 days (scary experience) when my cortisol levels plummeted shortly after going on antidepressant/anti-anxiety meds for the first time. Counter-intuitive to lose weight on antidepressants, and I was also eating more and exercising less, trying to overcome a spiral of illnesses.

Disclaimer: in zero sense of professionalism am I educated on medication.
When I got of anti depressence I had zero withdrawal, however I got of them whiting a month. They killed my emotional household to a point where it had the opposite effect. I felt nothing therefore I did not want to live.
Afterwards I worked with a professional to get trough a trauma and that ended up giving me the capacity to naturally fight off depression and gave me the me tal knowledge and capacity to identify and counter the signs of a new depressive wave. Been doing okay since.
Moral of the story: listen to your body, question everything with a pro and don't be afraid to switch caretakers if things don't work out

I would like to add that there are side effects to this diet. The carnivore diet/starch free diet impact your bowel movements. You go #2 less and your body acts like you’re constipated which is tough on your intestines and colon.
Not really… your body is utilizing the majority of the food you’re eating.. so less waste
