What PBD said about the effect Covid lockdowns had on kids that were just starting high school is on point. The impact on kids who graduated high school in 2020 was even more significant. They were robbed of some of the easiest/fun time in high school and graduation ceremonies/celebrations that most dream about during all the years of their schooling.

    • @user-et5gi4ut7k
      @user-et5gi4ut7k 20 дней назад +2

High-school graduation is severely overrated. It means literally nothing in the grand scheme of things. Most adults, today, in their 40s, 50s, and 60s can't remember a single, significant detail about their grad night, unless it involved loss of virginity. Sure, the kids might not understand that, now, but they will someday. And hopefully they'll learn to rage against the system because of it.
That said, I think there's definitely a poignant and profound lesson to be told about the effect remote learning had on children. As a parent to 3 school-aged children during lockdowns, I know, first-hand how much their learning, studying, and attention suffered. Never-mind the anxiety and social isolation they experienced as a result of the fear-hysteria.
Thankfully, they are more emotionally resilient than we are, but the same can not be said about their lost academic time. In fact, when talking to school administrators and teachers, they all express concern with the data that demonstrates how MOST students, today, STILL, are 2 years behind in their studies due to what they lost during that time of remote learning.
But this should be common knowledge at this point.
No offence to PBD, but he didn't bring anything new to the table.
If it was new to you, then you've not been paying attention.

our economy is like a flailing fish, fighting for its life. The normal state of the U.S. economy is actually very bad. Because of this it goes into convulsive spasms fighting to grow any way it can out of desperation. Tricks, gimmicks, rule changes try to stimulate the economy and prevent it from falling but they only bring temporary relief to people since, when you factor in inflation we are declining.

The market's rise after Trump's win is surprising given the economic uncertainty. While some stocks, like AI-focused ones, look strong long-term, the volatility makes me cautious. 1:22:18 - This HIT me hard - I am 22 years old and just graduated with a degree in Financial Mathematics, I am someone who is very sociable and enjoys talking to people and very curious to understand the way people think and want to help others achieve their goals. After working in accountancy for the last year I realized that sitting at my desk, isolated with headphones on, looking at excel spreadsheets from 9-5 is NOT for me - I felt like I can provide more to the world and more importantly to myself, and last week I had received the news that I have been accepted to start a new role as a Trainee Financial Advisor in January. Words can not explain how excited I am to start this journey as I truly believe that this is the industry I am going to thrive in. ( The irony is that I'm listening to this podcast with my headphones on staring at excel spreadsheets ) - thank you to PDB and the ICH for an amazing conversation and keeping me entertained through today's shift :)

The reason that most of the Social Security recipients are broke is because very few companies have retirement programs nor do they pay enough for contributions into those programs. Most Social Security recipients do not have college education and worked hard all of their lives for their houses a vehicle or two as is needed for two people working households. and to support their children. When a lot of our manufacturing jobs went overseas, companies stopped offering retirements and health insurance especially mid 80s to the present time.

Companies eliminated guaranteed retirement programs, and went to IRA contributions is that the companies would likely not be around in 20 years and the cost is very high. Invest judiciously come 2025, keep a stop loss figure. Shuffle between debt and equity wherever the ratio goes too off your target. As for the target, I recommend a Ratio like this Debt % should be equal to your age in years. If you are 20, debt is 20%, reset in equity. If the market falls or rises drastically, your debt % will change, which you should rebalance to 20% and bring back equity to 80%. Thus you would have bought low or booked profit depending on if it was a crash or a bull run.

RFK is the president in 2028. NO WAY will America choose Vance over RFK- Literally Anyone who has listened to Kennedy speak an length(> 60 minutes) has chosen Kennedy over Harris and Trump in 2024. Its just he never got to speak in traditional media like Trump or Biden in 2024, as they both kept him off from speaking, prior to his Trump endorsement.
Now that he should be given chance to reach the public, AMerica will see just what kind of person Kennedy is and his dedication towards humanity, not to mention the depth of his intelligence toward literally every subject one can think of. He outshines Vance in foreign politics and even domestic economics, and his 40 years of dedication toward helping the Minorities and environment.
Vance can't even come near the shadows of RFK- the depth of his soul for authenticity and love for AMerica and all humanity is so far reaching- you will be doing injustice to support Vance. PLease- go listen to RFK podcast with joe rogan and see if you still think Vance is your choice. YOu can tell even Joe Rogan was in aww of him, and he would have picked Kennedy if not for Kennedy's endorsement for trump.

It's also a lot more complex then social issues IMO.
At the moment, I disagree with conservatives on healthcare. I think it should be universal. I think there should be much less regulatory red tape, and I have absolutely no clue on what to believe for social security 😅so it's still a journey for me. I only agree with Musk about tarrifs. I imported/exported for 13 years. Mainly from China because of the lower cost and high quality they could provide. Those lower costs were passed onto consumers. China doesnt pay a tarrif, US businesses do btw. But I've always said since 2004 we need to slowly increase tarrifs to stay competitive. It comes at an environmental cost to manufacture unfortunately. And that's why we need to keep working toward sustainable ways to manufacture.
Nuclear energy is our only hope. But while we build more we need to keep deploying solar. Solar could potentially produce 100 % of our energy needs but we're not close enough! Electricity is crucial! Recyclers and foundries use electricity to melt down steel. Processing plants, homes, businesses use an E N O R M O U S amount of electricity. Solar is quite literally free fuel for 30+ years.
Listen: during Obama a humongous tarrif was put on chinese panels and Solar cells. Then an antidumping tarrif of 100%! A 100% tax on the cost of the panel had to go to the US government as a tax! Which led to some dicey times for Solar.
Tarrifs should remain strategic. You CANNOT slap another 60% tarrif on China because that cost HAS to go to the consumer! He's 100 right on it takes a minimum of 3 years to build the manufacturing plants, train workers, etc.. Do you think China will withhold things we need to do that? Like rare earth magnets? Yes! They are the ONLY and I mean ONLY place in the world that mines and manufactures them at a stupid cheap rate. Without magnets we can't have computers, microwaves, phones, tablets, tv,s . . . Medical equipment... ...
Let's make sure we hold Trump to this: no more tarrifs! We're already paying 33% more of the cost of ALL Chinese goods. This is why prices took a jump a few years ago, setting the literal economy up for hyperinflation up until about a year ago when the Biden administration sicked the FTC on corporations for gouging. The Trump Supreme Court blocked and blocks their attempts at every turn. The Supreme Court is now where any opposition to Trump now goes to die.
I can go on for literal days about what I know about the Trade economy.
Remember: no more tarrifs. And reduce the existing ones down. This will stabilize the world. China and the USA are the heartbeat of the world economy.
Please note that China is a fascist country, communistic. But the people are cool af. I've met a handful of very wealthy and successful Chinese CEO's! They're so smart and passionate.
Most people's jaw would drop if I told u what things really cost. And I got bad news for people buying direct from China. That's going to be no longer possible in the next 18 months as the FTC is requiring tarrifs on ALL imports and strict regulations on safety approvals. It will be the nail in the coffin for small businesses.
That my friends is something that Trump 120% wants, a massive massive massive tax, but your gonna pay for it as a proxy tax. The division between Ultra Rich and dirt poor with nothing in between. You will succumb to whatever the newly appointed crooks and criminals he will appoint to positions. He will oust all opposition and easily muscle the media into state run media or snuff them out with his single party government. This is called communism. The word Freedom and the word communism are the most complete opposite things. One cannot exist inside the other.

Not quite good enough on Social Security. You really don't know enough to be making this decision. A huge chunk of Social Security is SSI. It's basically welfare for disabled people who never worked or have not recently enough contributed to Social Security. How are you going to replace that income? Is just not that simple.

Awesome video! But, at approx. 49 minutes, I chuckled when Pat asked about social security. Graham and Jack were quick to pay off what people contributed. I would agree, but that’s because my life went well financially. There are many who were not as enterprising as the young and successful podcasters. Mr. Social security has a big heart, but it does need to be monitored. We need to take care of our countrymen, everyone is doing their best, despite the results. Be grateful if your life is working and give a little to help those less fortunate.

I will be depending on my social security when I can no longer work. So no we shouldn't get rid of it. But it does need to be checked out to see what is coming out and for what. Because if it's being used for anything other than to help the retires is wrong.
I too had to come to an understanding in my mind when I was around ya'lls age about S.S. but then I realized that money that comes out of my check is going to help my parents, Grandparents survive.

Awesome video! I was blown away by the recent economic data! There seems to be uncertainty over inflation and the U.S. stock market is at a crucial crossroads. Despite growing concerns among investors, the economy shows signs of resilience which could help Bitcoin remain stable. Interestingly, the crypto market, which is usually correlated with the U.S. stock market, has been moving in the opposite direction. BTC and the Nasdaq are currently bouncing back. However, with the sentiment changing fast now is the perfect time to get into the crypto market..... I have managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 732k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Jinny Franz, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape.
