    Lol, I was just going to question the amount of salt because of what you put inside the tangerines plus what you put in the jar separately and suddenly you started talking about it. Thank you!

    I'm excited to try this with some oranges! How long do they stay good after they're fermented?

    • @ZizziGreen
      @ZizziGreen  Год назад

      That’s great!!! They stay good for more than 7 months if stored in the refrigerator after opening. Let me know how it turns out when you eventually try out the recipe

    Doesn't washing the tangerines get rid of the good bacteria that would have multiplied during the fermentation process?

    • @ZizziGreen
      @ZizziGreen  11 месяцев назад +1

      The fermented oranges turned out perfect. I had to give the oranges a good wash because I wasn’t sure if they were organic

    I think this must be sea salt. No ionized salt

    How long roughly does it take to ferment? I ferment a lot of vegs in just 2 days in warm weather

    • @ZizziGreen
      @ZizziGreen  11 месяцев назад +1

      It took about four weeks for the oranges to get fermented because it was done in winter. It would take less time if done in summer.

    Do I need to remove seeds inside the fruits?

    Looking for a salt-free version of this

    • @ZizziGreen
      @ZizziGreen  Год назад +2

      I’m not sure if there’s a salt-free version of preserved citrus because the salt acts as a form of preservation which helps keep the fruits fresh for a prolonged period of time. Although, you could try preserving them in sugar but you’ll probably need to do a water bath canning method in order to stop the citrus from going bad.
