  • We compare the Walther PPQ M2 9mm to it's little brother the Walther PPQ M2 SC 9mm. They have the best triggers on any striker fired piece. (And are better than many hammer fired ones as well.)

Own the PPQ M2 and the PPS M2. My LGS has the SC for $450 slightly used LNIB I’m considering it since it’s a good price especially in today’s world.

I have the PPQ M2 and do love that trigger. Just got a Sig P365 SAS but after watching your video I am sure I will have to get the SC before too much time passes. I always enjoy your videos. They are so straight forward. Thank you for your honesty.

I've had my PPQsc almost a year now. Been happy with it but I did have an issue with the mag release. During shooting the mag would fall out with barely any pressure. Tried different holds and it would always happen, so I sent it back to Walther and they put in a heavier release spring which resolved it. Just mentioning in case others have had this happen.

I’m having an issue where my 15 round mag won’t lock into the gun, very concerning being a CCW. Never had this problem ever with a gun. I have to smash it in the mag well to lock it in. Doesn’t seem right.

Maybe without a mag it is 18 oz. With empty mag, it is 21.2 oz which is still very impressive (PPS M2 is 21.1 oz) and I believe it is the lightest double stack subcompact. I think G26 is only DS SC that is smaller dimensionally of the major brands (P10S, VP9SK, TP9 Elite SC, etc are a bit larger). I had to adjust rear sight on my PPQSC to the right which was very easy and now, the gun shoots just as accurately as my 4” P99AS 9mm. I bought my PPQSC for $399 brand new-I believe it was a “Factory New-Old Stock” bc the serial number is before the one HS has.
Carry this gun everyday. Very comfortable and very easy to shoot. It gets back on target very quickly.

Thanks for another well done and informative video. I hadn’t shot a PPQ in quite a long time until yesterday when I purchased a PPQ 5” that came with an Apex trigger. Wow, what a tack-driver! Cheers.

I have the PPQ 9 and PPQ 45. Great triggers! I do my best shooting with them, equal to my 1911. The rear sight on the 45 became loose, but Walther fixed it. It is a bizarre mechanism with that push pin.

Great video! Thanks for the effort and details. I have the PPQ M2 and absolutely love it on almost every level, I was thinking of buying the SC for off duty carry. Your video convinced me there isn't enough difference in the two to justify the purchase.

I have the PPQ 5 Match (Polymer) and the PPQ SC...they are fantastic shooters and the trigger is a solid piece of the build. I have added a set of Talon grips to each. Good video. The aftermarket needs some boost. Finding aftermarket sights for the SC is a pain in the butt. I had to get the rear fitted due to the difference in design over the regular PPQ. Come on Walther...raise the bar for accessories.

On the PPQ Sub Compact, you can use any aftermarket sights that fit the PPS model. Dawson Precision, XS Sights, Truglo, Trijicon etc.

Trigger on PPQSC gets much better after 500 or so rds. It is never bad or gritty but it did take some breaking in. If you own a 4”-5” PPQ or PPQ45 already, I would put on ear plugs or headphones while dry firing so that the different sound from plastic insert in slide of PPQSC does not throw you off. I say that because the different sounding trigger break did throw me off when I first got it.
Just got home from range where i shot 350 rds thru PPQSC. I didn’t think my PPQ45 would have competition as my favorite pistol, but the PPQ SC might now be my favorite. When I owned the PPS M2, I would shoot it after shooting my PPQ45 and it still had more noticeable flip to it. PPS M2 is a good gun but I wanted something easier to shoot and I hate partially cocked strikers. After receiving refund from Walther 2 1/2 weeks after sending it in (very simple process/no shenanigans), I put the $335 towards the $399 PPQSC. When I shoot PPQSC after PPQ45, I feel like I’m shooting a .22. I like that it’s on the smaller side of double stack subcompacts with 10 rd flush magazine-very easy and comfortable to conceal. The 15 rd extended mag is very well done. I did have to break the spring in on mine for easier insertion but that took one night.
If you buy this gun, shoot and dryfire it a lot in the first 30 days. It needs breaking in. Not from a reliability standpoint but to get the full PPQ experience. That might also be because I have one of the first to be shipped.
I think James Bond new pistol should be the PPQSC slide and barrel with the standard PPQ grip (5.3” height) STEEL FRAME LOL

Please don't advise people to dry fire a ton. Everyone knows dry firing any gun is bad for the gun. It's designed to fire, not dry fire. Now if you use dummy rounds with the proper soft primers in them (meant for SAFE dry firing practice then yes I would agree with you. I would edit your post before you cause newer shooters problems.

I have the original PPQ (Paddle version)and I bought the SC when it first came out. I prefer the trigger on the original PPQ over the SC because of the extra size and weight. all that said, I would rather shoot the P99. That’s probably because I have carried it for years and shoot it more often. Thanks for another well done review.

My P99 and P99c are more compatible. Many Q guys were upset that the regular M2 full size mags aren’t recommended to be used in the SC. I have an M1 version and I can interchange my full size mags between all three guns.

Good video. I have them both and also the PPS M2. SC is a great carry option that fits in between the PPQ M2 and PPS M2. Well over a thousand rounds and it's been flawless.

Great video....I love my PPQ's...I noticed one oops you made just to point it out... since I have both, the SC is windage adjustable...Allen key instead of screw driver. Maybe it was a mis speak or something like that but just wanted to get it out there

I've been waiting all this time for Walther to come out with a PPQ/PPS hybrid and they still don't appear to have any plans to do so. Even a PPS revision for higher capacity, as just about every other manufacturer of subcompact slim 9mms have done, a la the S&W Shield Plus and Springfield Hellcat, etc. I guess Glock is technically the only other major producer who still hasn't made a micro 9 competitor. Even HK and Canik both are ahead of Walther on this front. It's quite a bummer.

I love my 4” ppq m2. But the sc does nothing for me. I know the slide is different but it looks like they just cut the grip down. They could have made it a bit thinner. Something between the ppq and pps would have been perfect.

So both the PPQs have the same trigger. How about the PPS?
The trigger on the PPQ is what really sold it to me but I'm in CA now so the magazine bans limit my use and of course I'd have to leave the state to buy any of them in the first place because none are on CA's stupid roster.

You can, however, the magazine designed for it does have a bit heavier spring to ensure reliable feeding since the slide moves faster.
