I get why people are annoyed when y'all talk over each other but honestly I love it lol! It just makes it feel more conversational and shows how excited/passionate you are about a topic. Also makes me die laughing lol! Anyway, this was such a great topic- I'll have to pick up that book :)

I am the younger sister of older brothers. I agree with a few things you all said, but more than anything is something that I've noticed/realized only as an adult: I'm 23, and I struggle with female relationships SO much. My two lifelong best friends are women, but both of them also only have brothers, which I didn't even notice as playing a part in our relationship until now. Throughout college we lived in a house together, but never hung out in each other's rooms, never picked out each other's outfits... literally ever. Never even occurred to me. As an adult, I'm in a new friend group with three women who only have sisters!!! And literally last weekend we went over to one of their houses and they were all in a room picking out outfits, sharing clothes, doing each other's hair and makeup for a night out and I quite literally have NEVER experienced that. It didn't even occur to me to follow them into a room!!! They called me in the room because I was awkwardly outside, and I didn't even know what to touch! I could literally cry because I do not understand how to cultivate a relationship like that. I wish I could.
Now all the feelings of struggle I've had with this new friend group are making sense.

as a female only child this is sooo accurate. I always looked up to other ppl as role models. And I also looove big families, having a group, belonging to something and not feeling lonely.

yalll this was sooo fun. I cracked up so many times. Is there like a mixed up version? Like with what you did with the middle ones with older brothers and younger sisters and viceversa but with youngest and oldest? You only mixed them with the middle ones and it was so fun. I’m the youngest from both an older sister and then and older brother and I wonder what my type is. I guess other people who are oldest but not from only girls or only boys but mixed would also love to know the “mixed versions”. You could do a part 2 and then a part 3 with dating. Honestly I will eat up anything about this topic and I think most of us would. This was really the best episode of the podcast. Loved it, loved it, loved it ❤️

This summer I've become addicted to the Cimorelli Podcast so just nevermind me commenting on all the oldies 🙃 But omg I'm so confused about my dominant -I think I'm like Christina and Lauren. I have an older brother, I'm the oldest sister, then 5 younger brothers and one sister. I see every single dynamic in my family 😂 and yes I'm lucky to have found and married the elusive younger brother of brothers, older brother of sisters 😋✌️

Older sister of a sister 3 years apart and a brother 8 years apart. Literally so accurate. I’m a realist in the sense that Lisa described of “heartless” lmao. I also do carry a nation on my back and tons of responsibility and expectations. I also have tons of male friends. Definitely would say I’m a mom type. I definitely would pick a fuzz off someone. Jeeze you guys!!!! This is wild. I Fit both to a TEE

Ahhhh!! Finally, this episode! I loved this so much!! I'm the second oldest and the oldest girl in my family, with 11 siblings, sooo, I was fascinated by this whole thing. You explained it great and I'm totally going to be diving deeper into this! (Also, it's so true about the younger sister/child competitiveness...I guess since I'm the oldest girl, I've never understood why my younger siblings take their games so seriously, like Cops and Robbers and Capture the Flag. They literally can't stand losing. Whereas I'm like, who cares, it's a game! So this helped me get why they're that way XD)

I showed this to my boyfriend because we’ve been talking about family dynamics but it was hard for him to resonate with the description because he is the youngest boy but he has both 2 older brothers and 2 older sisters 😂 so he didn’t fit with any of these.

I'm gonna flip this thing on its head...
I'm the older sibling, by six years, of a younger brother. He turned sooo many things into competition. I was also the disabled child, which means he was jealous of me the entire time, thinking our mom paid me more attention.
    Painful, hurtful, awkward.
I hate, hate, hate conflict--I just want everyone to get along already! I often find myself being nurturing to my friends/wanting to mediate people/calm them down. None of what you guys described seemed to really fit me.

My husband first introduced me to the idea of birth orders affecting your personality and behavior when he shared this book with me called Adult Children: the Secrets of Dysfunctional Families years ago (highly recommend), and ever since then I've been super intrigued by this topic. Never really heard anyone discuss this before. As a female only child, I feel like you guys summed me up perfectly, better than anything I've read. I'm curious to know if you guys think understanding your children's birth order helps in parenting and how so?

I loved watching the podcast and this topic. But I don't relate to any of it... I have siblings but I never grew up with them. I also didn't grow up with my parents- although I had a 'parent figure' which we were not close. I feel like I've raised myself for many years although I've been around 'extended family members'. But this topic was interesting to watch like all of your podcasts- maybe it's a part of me missing that normal connection.

Lol this was not true AT ALL about me. I feel like this typing system relies a lot on the idea that boys are a certain way and girls are a different way so any interaction between these sort of “different species” at a young age will have a huge affect on someone. But if you or your siblings don’t fit as much into typical gender roles it doesn’t work as well to categorize. Still a really interesting theory to learn about!
