I do wonder how good Oliver Gavin could have been in F1 with a decent seat, he was clearly quick having won F3000 (And his numerous racing achievements since). Shame no one gave him a chance.
This channel is under rated
Worked there in 95/96 👍
Tell us more! What was it like?
I'm also very curious to hear about your experiences there 🙂
Gachot is a Belgian driver, so the French GP is not his home race. This was also mentioned in part 1. But: great video. Keep up the good work😊
belgium is not really a country and shouldnt exist
Gachot drove with a French license in 1992-1995
Interestingly enough, Pacific had some involvement in JGTC as well. There was the Ryowa House Toyota Supra that ran #8 in 1996 and #510 in 1997. I know for a fact the 1997 car has “Pacific” on the rear wing, I’m not 100% sure of the 1996 car. But both definitely have a link somewhere
wasnt the 1994 pacific a 1992 reynard chassis and effectively a cousin of the bennetton b194?
If Pacific did transfer equipment or staff from Lotus in 1995, it could've been a better outcome for Pacific.
So good video
Standing outside, waiting for premiere. 😁
Have you thought if Simtek, pacific, and forty had merged and worked together?
simpaty?

Good one ;)
I was thinking more on a hypothetical kind of boring way:
Pacific was okay at running a Reynard based chassis and slightly improved it with testing - but wasn't great at starting from scratch, Forti developed three chassis from scratch the traditional way but wasn't really good with the new tech nor improving their current chassis from tests, and Simtech was really good at that new tech stuff but couldn't really do the things of Forti and Pacific.
To me it looks like the three of them together could have worked as each covered some the failure of the two other organizations.
Assuming that they had enough money in such a new organization, and keep all their employees, and found a decent and reliable engine and none of that is a given.
I think that if the three merged that maybe they could have been at least a mid field team.
Of course, it's all hypothetical. And merger could be weirdly dysfunctional at times... So what do I know? ;)
I'd totally forgotten Boss GP/EuroBoss. It seems there were as many series poorly attempting to overthrow F1 as there were poor teams entering it.
The 95 car was a neat looking car though
I agree, always one of my favourites
Very true. I loved the look of most of the cars in the mid 90s
I always liked the look of the Simtek car. Even though it was probably the slowest car on the grid, it was definitely in the top 3 looks wise!!
@@mrkipling2201 it was gorgeous color and had an iconic sponsors like MTV
If I may be so bold:
As a great admirer of your work, I suggest you work on your pronounciation of "pitted".
As a non-native listener, I mostly hear "pissed".
My favourite rubber team…..but no sure why🤷♂️😂👍
