The hybrid CR-Vs don’t use a CVT, but an electric motor that controls the engine
Just bought a 2025 CR-V hybrid yesterday. Instantly in love with it.

On the hybrid system for this CR-V the gas engine is mainly used to turn the secondary motor to produce electricity, which explains the emphasis on regen. Unless you're a leadfoot or you need hard acceleration, up to around 62 mph the wheels are only powered by the main electrical motor.
The window sticker still says eCVT which is a bit misleading.
For those of you comparing the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid and the Honda CR-V hybrid; make sure you research the High Voltage cable connector corrosion issue (aka "cablegate") that is present in the RAV4 Hybrids (2019-2024); especially if you live in an area where they salt the roads in the winter.
I cancelled an order over that but the dealer said it was covered under the hybrid warranty so there is that.
I bought the 2025 ex-l hybrid in radiant red metallic. It really pops. 57,000 cdn out the door.

I love mine. 2024 hybrid sport touring. I know some think it’s basic, but I more so see it as timeless. There’s something f to be said for simplicity when it comes to styling.
I find this is a really solid vehicle all-round, had my '23 sport touring over a year getting 38-40 mpg in n.y.c it got pretty good pickup for a vehicle almost 4,000 pounds and not too much horse power.

If you drive a lot this trim is ideal but if you don’t pretty much you’ll save 10 grand getting the 1.5 turbo and they fixed the oil problem by now maybe I mean it’s been almost 10 years in production on various different models.
Same thing with the cvt transmission but time will tell in couple more years/miles

I love my 2024 Honda CRV sport touring hybrid. Bigger than the rav 4. Wider than all the SUVs in its class with four Inches more of leg room. The doors opening 90 degrees makes getting in and out for my old parents great.
So it does better on fuel economy in the city vs on the highway?

I thought it was a 1.5L 4 cylinder? DId they change it to a 2 liter for 2025?
The hybrid model always had the 2.0l. the 1.5l engine is for the gas only model
The non hybrid model has 1.5 L turbo engine, but the hybrid one has the 2L engine with natural respiration.
How are the 2025 models out already?
In PHX some dealers have them on the lot. I’m looking for one right now. 😊

Couldnt they put the gas tank under the front seats like the old fit then they'd have all of under the rear seat gas tank area for batteries. Instead they just threw out the spare? L
@@magnoliap5824 the tundra hybrid has the batteries under the back seat, so that seems unlikely

Its not a CVT transmission it is a direct drive

Ben really doesn't explain anything but does an overall overview of things.
Put it on the freeway and see if you can get it into electric mode. I average 42mpg on the interstate with my hybrid at 70 mph. And it coaches you how to brake so that you fully replenish the battery.
