Had one of these for a few days and it blew me away. Even coming from the ZL1 i felt this had fun power and the car was a vibe. I want one. Good vid bro.
UK DSG owner here - we never got the manual here, but the DSG box makes the car even easier to live with when you just want to cruise, as well as getting to 60 in 4.3. It's the dual nature of the character I like the most - 90% of the time I drive it in Comfort mode and it feels like a "normal" golf, but when you want to press on in Race mode it feels like a completely different car. Hard to think of another car that strikes that same balance.
love my 24' Golf R as well, lapiz blue its the perfect all around car, Daily driver, all weather conditions great AWD, not too flashy, performance is more then enough stock but if you tune it. It becomes a monster.
Yah! Picked it up November 1st… sold my big 15 year old suv since kids are bigger now and don’t need large vehicle… this one is wayyyy more fun. Your videos helped though! Especially the road trip one…
The integrated screen is so much better than the new large paste on screen Which VW has kept the integrated screen & just improved it I adore my GTI mk8
I had a 99 GTI (bought new). Was one of my favorite cars... I drove the wheels off that thing. It was constantly in the shop but even still I loved it. It had the 2.slow motor in it (right before the 1.8t came out) so it only had 115hp and 115tq but I knew how to drive the crap out if it!
@@Gonin60 someone on Reddit jumped from the 93 full Torque to the E85 and had slippage immediately. So somewhere between 398 and 430 tq is the breaking point
I agree that the Golf R does many things-and does them well. Curious since you are a detailer, what is your lsp and what did you use for the exterior rubber? Thx.
@hanx9970 you can change drive modes by accident because of the stupid steering wheel buttons. Also for the money its supposed to be a good daily driver too
@@Gonin60 lucky, good thing you're still under warranty. Love the Golf R, I have an R32 and I'll be buried in it considering how much money i've put into it.
Not at the serious point yet actually buying, but been investigating various sporty cars. I've been driving a MT for about 35 years. The 2025 Golf R is now only automatic. I can't wrap my head around getting an auto even at my old age. Looks like the Golf went woke. Sure, I can get an older one and call me silly but I don't even want a VW since it won't even offer the MT option. Let VW cater to the boring era of cars. I'll go with a company that still understands it not all about speed and ease, it's about the experience.
I love the tech. I’m a 61 year female & do not miss having buttons at all
I also really like the haptic buttons
I agree!

Thanks brother! Go check out Hot 1LEs vids on the golf r. Keep making content my friend! Love your vids.

It’s a good one

Lapis blue is my fav
Sure do love my R, too !
Nice!!
I'm getting a golf GTD next year, 73 plate can't wait
Awesome!
Just bought one of these last week, your videos helped me make the decision… thanks!
Do you have it? How are you liking it? So awesome!!

That’s great to hear. I’m looking to get the 8.5 when they are available in the US.
Right on!
I've had the APR Stage I 93 Octane Full Torque tune for 8K plus miles with no clutch slippage. Gets it to 405hp and 398TQ... it is amazing.
So rad! These cars wake up so much!
@Gonin60 planning on going stage 3 this spring. Will be replacing the clutch and intercooler
@ I’m amazed the clutch took a stage 1 full torque. So cool. Keep me posted on your build
@@Gonin60 someone on Reddit jumped from the 93 full Torque to the E85 and had slippage immediately. So somewhere between 398 and 430 tq is the breaking point
They swapped back to 93 and it's fine again. I've launched it hard s few times since hearing they did on the 93 full tune. Again no slippage.

Exterior rubber as in tires or trim? LSP usually an sio2 topper on my ceramic coating.
@@Gonin60 Exterior rubber around the windows, I was referring to. Was gonna use Carpro Dlux but not sure.
@ the car is pretty new. Haven’t had a need. I like lithium trim cubes
@@Gonin60 thx again
Makes me want to upgrade from my brz, but i am still hesitant with all the touch controls
don't be, in a week I was familiar and comfortable with the infotainment. Also once tuned these are a beast.
BRZ is awesome! Just drive one and see if you can play with the controls to see if you like it.
bruh, this is driver's car, you don't focus on the info screen while driving, do you? Just focus on the drive modes, and you good to go

Their DSG is really good but I’m a manual enthusiast as well and totally know where you are coming from
“Went woke” lmao I love that. Shame they are killing all the manuals
