Spearfishing with frogman in Washington State for Lingcod, greenling and perch

I started my spear fishing journey 10 months ago and this is a compilation of some of my adventures thus far. I do not use a scuba tank and fish by holding my breath which is known as free diving. This makes it more of a challenge and allows me to be part of the marine environment without disturbing the wildlife with bubbles. Spear fishing is not always about harvesting fish; I often go just for the experience of viewing and interacting with the underwater world.

Man i soo many questions what’s the thickness of suit and type , gun your running open heel fins with rock boots or booties and closed ( I’m trying to figure out what to do for our crappy shore entries ) i have full scuba rig but wanted to get into freediving and spearing so trying to convert my understanding of tactics and gear ty for the help

Call Dan at Oregon Freediving Co. he will set you up or point you in the right direction. You need a 5mm two piece suit for the NW. it’s pretty murky water I use a Koah Shortie 38 inch gun.

Roman Empire it’s murky due to rain or runoff get out and away from river mouths or into clearer current areas northern seems to be cleaner then south sound winter it seems to clean up allot mid summer everything is making babies soo there’s that going on too
