@@MukADuck I've been looking for some kelp forests to dive around here and haven't had much luck. Do you mind sharing with me a few of the spots with healthy kelp forests?
Hey that was a great video to watch, well done, the fish shots were great! Hello from Aussie, just found your channel and subbed to see more! That water looked damn cold LOL, Cheers for sharing the fun, Dive Safe!
I got into freediving while I was living on Oahu. I just moved back to Kitsap on the Puget sound and I'm trying to get into spearfishing here. If you know of any groups or good beginner locations, I'd really appreciate the hook up. Thank you guys 🤙
Taking a beginner freediving course is the most important step to becoming a spearfisher. You have to be a solid diver first before you start spearfishing. You need quite a bit of gear: 7mm open cell wetsuit with hood, gloves, booties, freediving fins, weight belt, mask and snorkel, dive computer, dive knife, buoy, float line, speargun, stringer, etc. There are so many nuances to gear that I recommend you just call a freediving shop or talk to a freediving instructor to get a better idea of what you need. Good luck!
Hey! Nice video! I was wondering… are there many places for spear fishing around Seattle? What about shipped? What is the best vis we can find there? Cheers.
In the Seattle area it's not that great, there are low fish populations and strict regulations. Still there are some good local spots within and near the city. but once you get out to the Pacific Ocean on the coast of WA there are a lot of amazing spots. The vis is the best in winter (20-30ft), but the rest of the year it hovers around 10ft. The worst days you can't even see the end of your gun haha
Seems like there is so much more life closer to shore further north compared to SoCal. That is a lot of bullwhip kelp! Nice dive
Thank you! We're lucky in Washington to still have some healthy kelp forests.

Never expected this song on a diving video. Thanks for the video. Always wondered what it’s like beneath the puget waters.
This song is one of my favs! It's so amazing being underwater, a lot of cool creatures!
The kelp makes everything look very dramatic. It’s so cool looking beneath the sea.

Thank you! I'll have more videos coming for sure! It's cold haha, around 9 Celsius, we wear 7mm wetsuits. Happy to have a subscriber from down under!

There are two pretty active Facebook groups ‘Washington Freedivers’ and ‘Washington Coast Spearfishing and Freediving’
Great video. What’s the budget range to get into this? And is there a season for spearfish if or pretty much all year long?

Wild egg yolk! Kelp greening are tasty!
greenling are mushy fish.....
How cold is it even with the wet suit? I'd imagine quite cold especially when diving down?
I'm warm in my 7mm suit
I fish this spot from shore occasionally. Did you have any issue with the current? It gets bad fast here.
Have to time it right because the current rips!
