    Hello. I used Wax paper over my light and it melted and caught fire, then fell and caught my carpet on fire and almost killed my cat. Great tip! Maybe suggest Parchment paper which is heat proof.

    Doesn't filming top down videos damage your camera lens when you cook something on the stove?

    Thanks for this video. I just purchased the camera stand from Glide Gear. It was a worthwhile purchase because no matter what I did I could not get the right angle with the tripod due to the legs and other issues you mentioned. Thumbs up.

    Hi Robbie ! Hope you are fine in this particularly stressful period. My mother and I, as we improve very good, just decided to film our recipes. We have one question, do you know how we can film from above with an iPhone ? we founded tripods to film from the side but not from above. Can you hep us saying what material you are using ?     Great video man! I want to ask if you can recommend a lens focal length for ASPC sensor cameras for these types of videos? I'm a bit confused on what to get for a Fuji or Sony ASPC. I've seen great top down and close up videos use lengths like the Sigma 16mm, 30mm, Fuji 18-55. What would you recommend?

    close up is the most difficult for self shooting cooking video..while cooking we tend to focus on large image than focusing on things or action.

    i think it would be great if someone made cooking videos that were concise and showed various steps and how they should look. Do not really need the mixing and chopping because most cooks know how to do these. When i watch videos this is what I want. I do not care about your life history or your family. I just want to see how what you are preparing looks at different stages

      I recommend using any of the Sony Alpha series - their autofocus capabilities are great for shooting overhead. -Robbie
