So very happy the two of you had a chance to meet and spend time together. Next visit please be sure to bring Joerg!!!❤
This Vlog is wonderful. 35yrs ago I studied the life and works of Mozart for my music degree and yet I have never had the opportunity to visit Salzburg. What a beautiful city. Lovely too for you to meet your friend from the USA. Thank you for sharing this video with us all xxx
Small world, everyone! My father is of German-Austrian & English descent...I greatly enjoy hearing & watching Kirsten & Jorg speaking German reminding me of the elder family when I was young. Their many beautiful tours to many locations are fun & entertaining & offer so much nice information. My mother is Scotch-Irish & English...Kirsten & Jorg visit those areas too which is such a bonus. Presently I also live in Tennessee very near the historic birthplace of American country music in Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia which are very close to the wonderful scenic Smokey Mountains. I also felt the first breezes of early Autumn earlier today, but the day was sunny & still warm enough.
What a delightful girlie vlog. Kirsten , I too had this American family come up in my feed. A happy family to enjoy. So glad you have made a special friend. Salzburg was lovely, especially the church. Thankyou from Tasmania.
Thanks so much Pam! I'm so happy that I do have quite a few friends in the US (and also lots of family), it's wonderful! Yes, Salzburg is a beautiful place.
Germany is very beautiful, I loved traveling there and in Europe when my sister lived in Germany for 15 years. It's so clean and beautiful. Thanks for sharing your travels so I can dream of travel again. I will have to look up Sara's channel now!
How wonderful to meet in person, a fellow RUclipsr, and friend. Though a rainy visit, it didn’t look like it dampened your fun! Germany has so many beautiful and unique towns, I can see what drew them to it.
Just loved seeing Salzburg again. Visited there 25 years ago and probably won't ever have another opportunity. Great memories for you to treasure with your friends.
Oh, what a great opportunity to meet each other! A lovely look around Salzburg, you both obviously had a fantastic time together! Yes, you need to keep in touch with each other and I hope we will see another visit with you two together again. Cheers!
You had a real adventure, you two. That was a special treat to see two friends meet for the first time. It seems as though you both clicked. It was fun to see you laughing and chatting together. Kirsten, you reminded me the last time I was in Salzberg was in 1992 for the Christkindlmarkt. The weather was much colder and snowing but it was just as memorable and gorgeous as what you showed. I remember the Sacher Torte at the Cafe Sacher, too. Lovely!
It was heart warming to see your connection with Sara. What fun you two had and it was lovely to go along on your first memory making trip together. Your reactions to the train trip adventure back was hilarious. Your joy is infectious. Thank you.
How wonderful this video, capturing real friendship , Joy and Laughter and Beautiful Salzburg, Thank you Kirsten for sharing your wonderful visit with your American friend . Mary Canada 🍁
I'm so glad you could meet your friend in person. It was an amazing video! I'm from Brazil and I also have some friends that I don't know in person, I hope I get the opportunity to meet them!
What an uplifting vlog, will definitely take a look on her channel. Loved seeing Salzburg again. We were there in December 2007 for the Christmas markets. Such a beautiful place to visit. I remember we had lunch in a cafe owned by a lovely German man. He was so funny and the food was delicious. We ended up showing each other photos of our grandchildren. He also took particular interest that we were from Wales. Would visit Austria and Germany again in a heartbeat. Lovely places with lovely people xx
Adorable! Two very gorgeous women whose light radiated so bright! This truly is beauty in its purest form. To experience, share, encourage and champion. Love the church bells and countryside too. ❤️ Well done, Ladies!!
Thank you for sharing your new American friend, it made my heart soar to see you woman connect from different backgrounds to a common ground. Think of all the wonderful people out there that we will never meet, my late husband used to laugh at me when I would say that. So happy you got to spend time together.❤️🎈❤️🎈
Thanks for sharing your new friend Sara/family and trip together to beautiful Salzburg. I, too, love Bavaria (fortunately been there several times). However, due to Covid have rescheduled a trip to Salzburg three times. Hopefully, next year. Maybe Sara can visit you in England. Best wishes from US Connecticut.
Such a delightful video! I’m forwarding it to my daughter for my grandchildren. We’re in The States and on the fourth generation to love The Sound of Music! Thank you! ❤️
This is such a fascinating and fun video!! I just subscribed to Sara’s channel! I loved all your shared laughter on your adventure to Salzburg!! Being a piano teacher.. I loved all the Mozart sites as well as the stunning cathedral where Captain von Trapp married Maria !! I can’t remember when I have been so engrossed and happy watching a video.. and all of yours are so beautiful.. fun to see your friendship grow as well. I loved that Sacher torte!! 😋 Wunderbar !!!! ❤
How wonderful to meet each other in person! I watch both your channels! Sara is right. I love your videos when I came across them! The antiques, the English countryside, the gardens and everything in between. Great video!
Kirsten, your pastry dessert is called 'mille feuille' (in French anyway). What a beautiful and very elegant hotel! Typical Austrian fall weather, a little chilly, a little rainy but very beautiful all the same. Everything about Salzburg is magnificent! Thank you ladies! What a charming and entertaining video! I'm glad your adventure ended happily and without an international incident! LOL!
Oh Kirsten that was such a lovely video. Sarah is a doll and I can see why you made friends so easily with her. Salzburg was beautiful to see. I have to tell you something funny. The wallpaper in the ladies room that you loved is the same wallpaper I have in my powder room. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it. I added it as a little bit of humor in my formal English inspired townhome in Virginia. Hugs,😍
That's so kind, thank you so much! Oh my, is it? I actually messaged Hotel Sacher about the wallpaper but heaven't heard back yet. Which brand is it? I love it so much.

This was such an amusing video. Kirsten, you and Sarah are so adorable.😍 One can see at once that you two are meant to be friends. Wouldn't it be fun, if they come to visit you and Jörg in the UK? Anyway, love your Salzburg adventure and the Hotel Sacher and the lovely cakes, the Sound of music film sets.. And of course the sound of those beautiful church bells. 😊💖

Loved your vlog.. everything looked stunning..and you both looked so happy to be spending time together.. thank you

Kirsten, your and Sara's enjoyment of one another's company was contagious and I couldn't help smiling throughout the entire Vlog. Bavaria was just lovely and Salzburg, well stunning! The Hotel Sacher was stylish and sophisticated and the Church, as you stated, was like walking into a museum. When some people ask me about the weather in Europe my answer is "Bring an umbrella and a jacket but remember the weather is not important!" Sara was completely spot on about the quality of your Videography...if you haven't before perhaps you could share the equipment you and Joerg prefer to use in the description of a future Vlog. Again, Kirsten beautiful content!
Thank you so much, that's so kind! I can add our equipment in the description box for future videos (sadly creating an extra video wouldn't be good for our niche if that makes sense).
This was really nice to watch! I agree with Sarah, Americans love the Sound Of Music! Even my 16 year old son likes it! 😊 It was fun to see the “ goulash”. My German grandma used to make it and it was delicious. Thanks you sharing your adventure!
I loved Salzburg, will never forget the view from atop the fortress. Thanks for the return visit to the baroque beauty. In 1985 no one checked or stamped my passport, just held up your blue passport and they waived you through.
Wow! Another beautiful video! Such beautiful scenery, homes and churches. I loved the friendship between the two of you. It made me feel like I was along with you. You seem like best friends with all your giggles even when things went wrong. Love to you both. ❤❤❤
I really love church bells to having been born and raised in Paris. I heard that Americans long ago complained about church bell sound and so they were banned because of the complaints. Another cultural difference between the two hemispheres. I totally sympathize with the love of European culture and living in Vermont it’s quite wonderful but I do miss it over there. I am so happy you did this video I will now check out my Merry messy life!
Such a lovely, heartwarming video. It was so lovely for you to meet Sara and her family, and to share it with us. Saltsburg is so gorgeous. It was lovely to see it and you did marvellously despite the rain. It was a beautifully made collaboration. I hope Sarah will also share this video on her channel. I've signed up to it, I'm sure I'll enjoy her videos. I did laugh when you said pi55ed ... As if course it can have 2 meanings hohoho. Cheerio for now. Lots of love, from Stella x ❤️🌹
Another wonderful video, thank you. Sara is such a charming and beautiful lady. Glad that you had so much fun, despite the nasty weather. Also the video reminds me to definitely go to Salzburg ... as long as the flight route Luebeck--Salzburg still exists 😁.
Oh Kirsten, you made me homesick for Germany, where I spent some of my childhood years. It is so very beautiful. I think your American friend is lovely, and will be looking up her You Tube soon.
This is super cool! Looks like ya'll had a great time meeting in person and getting to travel together. Such fun times. Thank you for sharing your travels with us. Already subscribed to Sarah's page, thank you for the recommendation Kristin! Nia to meet you Sarah. Blessings from IA ❤️
Hello Kirsten I absolutely loved that gorgeous church this vlog was amazing yet again. I now have the travel bug.. ps I followed your friend also. Thanks again for another beautiful vlog.. that chocolate cake still on my 💋
Dear Kirsten, your gluten free cake in Salzburg is called "Mille feuilles" which means a thousand leaves ! I' ve just subscribed To Sara's channel! So great! Thank you very much for sharing with all of us your adventure ! Bisous from Alsace 🤗😘
@@KirstenJoerg It's an Esterházy-Schnitte, named after Fürst Esterházy an Austro-Hungarian peer and diplomat from the 18th/19th century. The very wealthy Esterházy family was also famous for their patronage of artists like Josef Haydn. Schloss Esterházy in Burgenland, Austria is a very worthwhile destination to visit also. 🙂
@@KirstenJoerg Haserlschnitte sounds cute. I love the way Austrians talk. Eichkatzerl anstatt Eichhoernchen. Thank you so much for your wonderful Video... watching you from Canada. I am from Nuernberg, Franken/Bayern. I know Salzburg and I had tears in my eyes....I love Sacher Torte mit Sahne. I am happy for you and Sara. Be well everyone and take care❣🌍🌳
It was so wonderful to see your time shared with Sara and the giggles and the beauty of the the places you visited. At the end with your giggles over Sara's left at home needed travel documents it was hard to not giggle, too. I met one of my dearest and closet friends on the internet through a shared enjoyment of music and we became so close that we often giggled through hours of the night with her in one country and me in another with a four hour time difference. She was one of the brightest gems in my life. Sara's china is so lovely and I love the way that you, Kirsten, handle china as you display it for the camera with such a loving touch. 💛
Loved this video, especially all the references to the sound of music. I love Salzburg. There seem to be more checks on trains according to my daughter, who lives in Berlin and sometimes travels to Poland.
Aww I loved this vlog ❤️ you & Sara looked like you’ve been friends for years! What a lovely person she is. I think she looks a bit like the American singer Katy Perry. The Sound of music is one of my favourite films from childhood ❤ I watched it every Christmas with my family. I knew all the songs as I watched it so much☺️ was great to see some of the places from the film. I laughed so much at your re-action to border control, so funny! 😂 missed Jeorg. Much love Kirsten ❤️
Thanks so much Lesley! This is exactly how it felt when we met, as if we had known for many years. It was amazing. You know what? I think you're right. Sara does resemble Katy Perry.
What fun! I’ll have to check out Sarah’s channel. My sister and her family lived 6 years in Germany and my family lived in Spain (military families) and it makes me think that if RUclips had been a thing then how we could have shared our experiences! Germany is such a fairytale country, so beautiful, whimsical and clean!! Fond memories galore. I miss living in Europe, especially the cafe life and getting to walk to shops and restaurants and the parks/gardens!!! Oh and I also miss how the cakes and pastries are not sickly sweet!!!! There was a hazelnut pastry, kind of like a Danish, that I used to get in Germany that was perfect with coffee. I also sent back coffee and brandy filled chocolates to my “German parents”(best friend’s parents) before World Market, Lidl and Aldi were in the USA!
Such a special 1st time visit. Lovely video as always. Will check out her vlog..As an American, who is well up in my years,my father's family was in Alsace,Germany, they were farmers, wine makers. would love to travel.also family in Colmar and Steasburg. would love to see Austria. Have been to England and France, both places I loved. so enjoy your video and warm friendship.
love the video, so good to meet op with friends. Ilove Germany, and i have been to Salzburg and saw the apotheek inside!! Love the silver thea_thing with the mill from Sara. I come from Zaandam, Holland.
Loved the video !! ..I just got home from Salzburg where I guide tours.....but I hope you dont mind if I correct something.....Maria Von Trapp was a Postulant at NONNBERG ABBEY, not St Peters where you mentioned.. they also married in Nonnberg Abbey church...not St Peters. The church for the wedding in the movie was St Michael's at Mondsee . :-) ...

It was fun to see the “ goulash”. My German grandma used to make it and it was delicious.
Thanks you sharing your adventure!
Thank you for letting us “friend along” with you both! I enjoyed this excursion very much🌸
Thanks so much!
That was so lovely! Thank you for sharing your visit with Sara. I've now subscribed to her channel too!
Oh, wow! What a pleasant surprise as I subscriber of Sara's channel as well! Love that you two met up!!
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! I know, when we met we got on instantly as if we had known each other for many years.
What a wonderful experience meeting your friend finally! You two were adorable and giddy! The feel good video of the year!!!
Thank you so much! Oh yes, Sara will share a video as well, I can't wait for it to watch. It was so amazing to meet all of them.
Another wonderful video, thank you. Sara is such a charming and beautiful lady. Glad that you had so much fun, despite the nasty weather. Also the video reminds me to definitely go to Salzburg ... as long as the flight route Luebeck--Salzburg still exists 😁.
Thanks so much! Sara and her family are so wonderful!
Oh Kirsten, you made me homesick for Germany, where I spent some of my childhood years. It is so very beautiful. I think your American friend is lovely, and will be looking up her You Tube soon.
Thanks so much! Yes, Sara and her family are amazing people.

Dear Kirsten, your gluten free cake in Salzburg is called "Mille feuilles" which means a thousand leaves ! I' ve just subscribed To Sara's channel! So great! Thank you very much for sharing with all of us your adventure ! Bisous from Alsace 🤗😘
Thanks so much! Oh it was definitely a different name, something with 'Haserlschnitte' lol but it was divine.
@@KirstenJoerg Great! I really enjoyed your journey to Bavaria and Sara Is really sweet! I love her china!🤗😁
Love love this episode! Salzburg is one of my all time favorite cities! Such joy between you two! I’ll be watching both of your channels!
Thank you so much! Because the control was quite stressful, we giggled so much in the end, it was hilarious.
Love the video. Thank you for sharing. Love from Texas ❤❤❤🤠
Thanks so much!
That was sooo special to share "new friends for life!!" Loved every moment! Choosing Joy~ Stephanie

It's so nice to watch you appreciating every good thing that comes your way.Happy is the one that understands you.
Thanks so much!
This is delightful! Good people meeting good people!
Loved this video, especially all the references to the sound of music. I love Salzburg. There seem to be more checks on trains according to my daughter, who lives in Berlin and sometimes travels to Poland.
Thanks so much!
So beautiful. Thank you so much for filming your journey. Such beauty. I loved seeing you girls together. So much fun! Thank you
Thanks so much!
A friend forever, such a wonderful thing to say. Thank you for this video filled with happiness.
Bavaria is so beautiful. I love especially the Allgäu. Beside the UK the Allgäu is my favourite place to be.
Yes, Bavaria is so gorgeous, we simply love it.

Thank you for the beautiful sights. 😊
love the video, so good to meet op with friends.
I´ve really enjoyed wacthing the both of you
