So beautiful. I love Germany, the old building are stunning, that lovely old world feel in the streets of old towns. And the variety of cafes and cakes are so good. Thank you for sharing your lovely videos. ☺️
Our country, USA, is so new compared to Europe. The buildings are what we here, call 'storybook' buildings with all the strips of wood decorating the outside and such. We do not see those style buildings in America anywhere except in books. Thanks for taking us on walking tours of Germany and also in the UK,
WOW! What a delightful video! Germany is truly a beautiful country! (especially during the festive season). The architecture is stunning, and the food is so appetizing! I love the sound of bells ringing too (such a pleasant and unusual experience for North Americans like me). Thank you so much for filming parts of your visit home for Christmas. I hope you enjoyed yourselves. Happy New Year!
The architecture is right out of a storybook. Loved hearing the gorgeous church bells! Wishing you both much happiness, good health, and fun adventures in 2023! 🎉
Happy New Year 🎉 Germany is so beautiful! I've always said I think it's the cleanest country! The sweetest couple ever in a gorgeous homeland. Thank you both so much, it's very much appreciated 😊
@@dorisw5558 Switzerland is the former Germany. Unfortunately we have more and more messies on our streets. Cleanliness everywhere was a former attribute in Germany. 🤔
❤️ . Stunning architecture & gardens in the UK and Germany that we do not have in the US. Thank you for taking us along. Seeing your new video is the highlight of my day. Beautiful video. Love the German words. 😊
We have that architecture in New England where I'm from. Our houses have the original stars on them denoting their origin from the 18th and 19th centuries.
Thanks for taking us along with you. I just love history and all the old architecture. I loved the turtle sculpture on the fountain and that quirky carving on the building corner of the man making a silly face by sticking his tongue out. I am truly grateful for you two, because I get to see places I might never see. Peace and love from the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State.❤🙏🇺🇲
I also caught the man making a silly face with his tongue sticking out too ! Who says the Germans' don't have a sense of humor !! We sure do ! The architecture is absolutely amazing. 2000 years old and going strong. I adore these videos....I am disabled and will never travel again.....and I live vicariously through videos like these. Thank you Kirsten and Joerg. You bring me such happiness.
Each time we drive from Munich to Tübingen, we drive the beautiful route over the Swabian Alb and of course, through Bad Urach. I drive this route since 44 years. 🤗🤗🤗 Nice to see this all and that you like it, too. 👍👍👍 The Swabian attributes are: cleanliness, thrift, innovations, diligence, friendliness. And last but not least a yummie kitchen!!! 🤗
Dear Kirsten and Joerg, May I wish you both, and your viewers a Happy New Year. Thank you both for another lovely video. Beautiful old German architecture. Kirsten, you brought me down Memory Lane with the Haribo Happy Cola. When I was a young child my friends and I would buy our sweets in the local corner shop, and these were great favourites, we called them Cola Bottles. Lots of love from Dublin, Ireland.💖🇮🇪
I loved living in Germany it’s so beautiful there! My oldest daughter was born in Nurnberg 40 years ago. I lived in Frankfurt, Hanau as a child and as an adult I lived in Nurnberg and Weisbaden. I cried when I left in 1992. I hope one day I will come back to Germany. I loved walking into the small towns and shopping at all the markets. I miss the delicious food and the people and culture. ❤️
I love the building architecture in the towns on your German visits. The pastries look divine - I would be big as a house if I lived there ! For info, the UK shops also used to close half-day Wednesday and all day Sunday until law was changed in early 90's.
Germany is so beautiful. Having spent time in the Schwarzwald, I will never forget the beautiful red geraniums everywhere, even on the bridges. And the people were so friendly.🌷
Another lovely video for us to see and experience your country. It made me smile when you said the shops were closed on Wednesday afternoon in Germany, because we used to have ‘early closing day’ which was a Wednesday, in England. Enjoy the rest of your trip.
Aww, you both looked so forlorn when Joerg had to return to England. Two weeks will go by fast and you'll be together again sitting in your little snug at home. Thank you for taking us with you on your outing. The architecture and timber work on some of the buildings is magnificent! I can only imagine how beautiful it must look in the summer. Happy New Year to you both!
It is lovely to see you Kirsten and Joerg - Happy New Year to you both. The architecture, town squares, cleanliness and cakes (delish) of these German towns just all so beautiful. Here too (US) the days of quiet Sundays and a hush over businesses are long gone with most things being open and usually very busy - nice to see that Germany still observes one day for a slower pace. Thank you again for bringing us along!
Hi Kirsten and Joerg, Happy New Year to the both of you, good health and happiness always is wished for you both, I love the architecture in Germany it’s right out of Hans Christian Anderson, so beautiful, thank you for the beautiful video, I want to tell you that when I was young and for many years as I grew up in the UK, the shops closed every Wednesday afternoon, it used to be an English tradition and there were no shops open on a Sunday years ago, of course it’s all changed now, everything is open all the time in the UK as life runs at a faster pace, sometimes it’s nice to slow down and keep the old traditions as Germany has, just my opinion, much love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx😘❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hi Kristen and Joerg. Have never been to Germany, but studied German all those many years ago. Its very beautiful. The Architecture is absolutely amazing. Thankyou for showing us around. Bless you both. Your my favourite
Happy New Year! 🎉 It's kind of funny to watch your videos from Germany as a follow German, but one that knows a lot of British folks. It always makes me grin when you point out the differences, as that is what I always do all the time with my Brotish friends! Thanks for taking us along, I might actually visit Trier too at some point this year! 🤗
Wow, you are so sweet couple 😍🥰You are fit to each other. You are telling so interesting i seeing your videos with my mom. You are visiting very gorgeous places so I dreaming to visit it too.
Love that old world look & history. The architecture is magnificent. I was raised in NY state in the 1950s when things were closed on Sundays. It's the Lord's day of rest & I wish we could bring that back again. A day for rest, time with God & family.
I loved New Year's Eve in Germany, Silvesternacht. I remember in Wiesbaden they had huge celebrations with tons of fireworks. The next day, you'd walk downtown and see all the little wires from the rocket style fireworks, but then to walk again downtown the day after that, clean as a whistle. I had also forgotten about Wednesdays...but being excited when November came and not only were shops open on Wednesday, but had later shopping hours, too, until Christmas...and of course, the Christmas Markets. As I do every New Year, I think fondly of Wiesbaden because we married there on 2/2. 35 years soon! Hard to believe.
I grew up in the 1950’s and 60’s and shops always closed here in Uk on Wednesday afternoon and it was unheard of shops being opened on a Sunday. I think it changed in 1994 .
Trier is one of many places in Germany that I have wanted to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful trip down memory lane and may many blessings flow abundantly to you both and your families this New Year!
Hi England used tobe exactly the same everywhere closed on a Sunday. When I was growing up the shops always closed on a Wednesday afternoon. In some villages they still do!! Happy new year to you both, enjoy your videos very much.
10:07 In my area of the US, when I was growing up, stores (shops) closed on Wednesday afternoons so workers who had worked on Saturday could have time off.
I lived in Reiderich in high school and attended school there. I have a photo of my German parents and my mom in front of the beautiful fountain in Bad Urach from 1994! Seeing Schwabia brought back so many sweet teenage memories! Happy New Year to both of you!
Lovely video . Many years ago we we also used to shut Wednesday afternoon and all day Sunday in the UK . Sunday used to be a lovely calm day it’s very hectic now . I loved watching you have coffee and cake it brings back memories of when I worked in a bakers shop in Germany the bread and cakes are amazing in Germany in fact when I used to go back to visit my mum and dad in the UK I used to always bring him a loaf of German bread because he loved it .
Happy New Year to you both and thank you for this lovely video. The buildings in Germany are lovely and unusual. The inside of that Church was gorgeous too.Yummy cakes.....oh my word!!! Shame that Joerg has to come back to Britain and leave you behind , but two weeks will soon pass and you'll soon be together again.I hope you have the best of years and enjoy good health .God bless until next time xxx ❤
I definitely missed your videos. The architecture in Germany is beautiful. The desserts that you eat look so delicious. I wish you a healthy new year. Until your next video.
Really enjoyed this video! I marvel at the architecture in the town square. I have always been fascinated by the upper floors of these buildings above the shops. The windows look so inviting! Are those residential?
Wishing you both very good things for 2023 from the UK. Thank you for all your videos, really enjoy seeing all the great places you visit and the things you enjoy buying. Your house looks magnificent and I like you classy taste. You've also inspired me to visit much more of the UK. Look forward to your future videos. xx
Happy new year! 🍀🐷 I really enjoyed your trips to Trier and Bad Urach. You have to visit Ulm when you come to Germany next time. It is absolutely amazing!
Happy New Year to my favorite RUclipsrs! Thank you for making such beautiful videos & always sharing your adventures with us. Germany is sooo beautiful, it's on my bucket list! Have a blessed new year! Safe travels! ❤️❤️
Lovely towns to stop for a wander and coffee and cake. Trier and Bad Urach are so well-kept….from here, the buildings look as new as the day they were built! Kirsten, you looked beautiful and Jörg handsome, in your ensembles. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time with family, Kirsten. All the best to you both, for 2023!🎉
I noticed how much I didn’t see of Germany even I lived there up to the age of 35. Now I’m almost 14 years in England and think I wouldn’t fit in anymore in Germany.
Great videos which I love watching and I think that your house is looking very cosey. The room you call your snug, looks extremely cosy. Kirsten I remember the shops in the UK closed on one afternoon on a weekday. This was many years ago There was a shops act of 1911 and this required that shops closed for one half day per week. Of course remember the shops did not open at all on Sundays, except paper shops, I believe in the UK. I wish you both a Happy New Year and look forward to watching more very interesting videos.
Happy New Year Kirsten and Joerg. I want to visit Germany so badly now after watching your beautiful video. Enjoy yourselves. I love how you show us the various cakes. It's mid morning here in Australia but I could just eat one of those cakes. X
We have dear friends in Ulm that we visit a couple times each year, Rosie and Wolfie. Well, Rosie was born and raised in Ehingen. Her family had a bakery there for several generations. It’s an area we love! Can’t wait to be there in May! Thanks for sharing this!
Happy new year, or in Scots, a guid new year tae ane an a' Here in Scotland in days gone by every town had a half day closing for shops. In some towns it would maybe be a Wednesday but in others it could be a Tuesday or, another day. The practice started to die out in larger towns in the 80's and by the 90s it only happened in smaller towns and villages. Now there's no half day closing anywhere that I know of in Scotland. When I was a child if it was half day closing in our town (which if I remember correctly was a Wednesday) if mother wanted to go shopping we would have an afternoon out to a neighbouring town. Mother knew which day was half closing in every town within miles!
Happy new year, dear Kirsten and Jorg! I wish you much health and luck, love and inspiration on your way. Can't wait to watch your next adventures. Be the way you are: loving, sincere, amazing! Hugs and kisses.🥰🤩💖💜❤
Thank you so much guys! ❤ your voices are so soft and sweet! 😊 Your English is sooooo good, and I truly wish you both the best here in the UK 🇬🇧 ❤ If I ever meet you, I’d buy you both a drink ❤️❤️❤️ Take care! And hugs and kisses! 😊😊 Danke for all your videos 😊
Wishing you both a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year! Thank you so much for taking us along on your Christmas vacation. I had a wonderful time, even though I couldn’t enjoy the hot chocolate and cake .
Hello from Canada . I love Trier It's been 10 years since i was there. Bad Urah is just gorgeous. Like a picture postcard. Thank you so much for sharing
Oh my goodness!!!! Such stunning buildings. My heart aches to see these in person. Thank you for sharing. So sad to see him walk away from his love. 😢❤
Happy New Year to Kirsten & Joerg! 🎉🎉 While I missed you last week, I was also feeling so very happy that you were able to have a family Christmas in Germany, as we know your parents and friends miss spending time with you too. Thank you for the delightful view of Trier, and as always, learning about several new beautiful German cakes! They are truly creative works of art for the eyes. Kirsten, continue to enjoy your family! 🌹
THANK YOU! ...THANK YOU!!! ...THANK YOU!!! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...Watching your grand touring video around this German town at times made me cry remembering my Father, my Grandmother, my Great Grandfather. ...Germany is their homeland. I especially recall my father & his brother always talking about the beautiful country, mountains, & towns which created their home. Of course, my Father, Grandmother, & Great Grandfather spoke German. My Father told me about the wonderful buildings & homes saying no others compared. The people & families were very close & worked to help each other...everyone was wise & smart. During the early 1800s German immigrants came to the USA, worked hard, struggling for success with land purchases where the land was difficult to manage but priced at good low cost. My family members at that time harvested trees from the steep mountains & created timber beam businesses for coal mines, & those timber & sawmill companies grew well. My early German family members on my Father's side...plus the early Scotch-Irish family members on my Mother's side came to the USA with nothing & did well. Their lives speak of the strengths & gifted minds of both Germans & Scotch-Irish. ...Around 1957 my Father rejoined his comrades (very close friends) to visit towns & find family & friends after the war. The world was changing, but the homeland spirit remained strong & still exists as a rich spirit of people today. ...Kirsten & Joerg, may all the days of this new year be filled with happiness & satisfaction & happy journeys to explore & share. ...This Video Is Wonderful!!!
I just started watching your videos several weeks ago and I LOVE them! I love the way you guys make them so personal and so detailed. It's almost as if I am traveling with you. I love to travel but I am getting older now and will probably not travel overseas anymore, so it is a treat to be a travel companion with you both. I lived in Germany during the early 70s. My husband was a US Army officer and we lived in Hanau and Worms. I love Germany and miss the beauty and the food! Thank you so much for your delightful videos!
Love your videos! Happy New Year to you Kirsten and Joerg: in the 60's and earlier than that time, England would have the stores close on Wednesday afternoon.
Happy New Year to you both! You are such a lovely couple. The buildings are so beautiful and everywhere looks immaculate. Here in Wales we used to have half day opening on a Wednesday but that it isn't very common now
I like the idea of stores closed on Sundays. It was like this when I was a child growing up in Virginia. The days were spent with family, resting and relaxing in preparation for the week ahead. Perhaps this would be beneficial in today’s nonstop world. Great video, as always!
I also love that Joerg is always stealing a kiss. It is lovely that you are still so romantic after many years of marriage.

All the best to you both, for 2023!🎉
Thanks so much and the very same to you too!
Love your Videos, thank you, danke ...👍🏻😉, welcome to Germany all , sending Love from Berlin ❤
What a beautiful place! I hope I see it one day. The buildings remind me of Strasbourg....
A very happy new year to you both🎉 please keep your wonderful videos coming❤
HAPPY NEW YEAR! 🎉 THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER YEAR FILLED WITH STUNNING BEAUTY, SMILES AND PRECIOUS MEMORIES!!
We have dear friends in Ulm that we visit a couple times each year, Rosie and Wolfie. Well, Rosie was born and raised in Ehingen. Her family had a bakery there for several generations. It’s an area we love! Can’t wait to be there in May!
Thanks for sharing this!
Oh wow, that's so so lovely to hear! It will be so nice to visit Germany in May. Thank you so much for watching Jeannie!

Happy New Year to you too with health and happiness dear Kirsten and Joerg ❤!
Happy new year, or in Scots, a guid new year tae ane an a'
Here in Scotland in days gone by every town had a half day closing for shops.
Gorgeous Germany Buildings and architecture so wonderful Thank you

Happy New Year to Kirsten & Joerg! 🎉🎉
While I missed you last week, I was also feeling so very happy that you were able to have a family Christmas in Germany, as we know your parents and friends miss spending time with you too. Thank you for the delightful view of Trier, and as always, learning about several new beautiful German cakes! They are truly creative works of art for the eyes.
Kirsten, continue to enjoy your family! 🌹
Thanks so much! Happy New Year to you!
THANK YOU! ...THANK YOU!!! ...THANK YOU!!! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...BEAUTIFUL! ...Watching your grand touring video around this German town at times made me cry remembering my Father, my Grandmother, my Great Grandfather. ...Germany is their homeland.
You are so kind, thank you so much! Sending much love.
Love your videos! Happy New Year to you Kirsten and Joerg: in the 60's and earlier than that time, England would have the stores close on Wednesday afternoon.
Nice towns Will miss Joerg
Beautiful old buildings and architecture. Makes you wonder how they were built. Happy New Year!
It would be wonderful to live above a store in a lovely square ... but my knees are too bad - Just love the Cafe and Lichen places ...
Happy New Year to you both! You are such a lovely couple. The buildings are so beautiful and everywhere looks immaculate. Here in Wales we used to have half day opening on a Wednesday but that it isn't very common now
Happy New Year Kirsten and Joerg! I really enjoyed this video but I know you both are really going to miss each other. Have a wonderful 2023!
