Rimmel has some amazing foundations and I swore by their Scandal-Eyez line for 3 years straight. I just wish they had more supportive products for deeper complexions in the rest of their line up. Their lip liners don't go dark enough, nor do their bronzers, finishing powders and blushes. For someone cocoa complected and deeper...foundation and concealer tends to (barely) be it for using their products. Sincerely, Shade 603 Chocolate.
Scandal-Eyez was a classic for me!! And I loved using one of their Kate Moss lipsticks as an easy cream blush. Definitely disappointing to hear about their shade range from the other side of the spectrum... Their base products don't go quite fair & neutral enough for me [besides Stay Matte in Translucent], but that's a much more minor issue!! Especially since you're running into issues across their ENTIRE product line.
Honestly, it almost looked better after an hour! Like it sits on the skin so nicely, and it is still sheer enough that you see skin underneath instead of being a super insane full coverage!

Because they're not pumping out releases every 2 seconds, or riding the wave of popular luxury brands by duping them, I've noticed brands that do that continuously discontinue stuff. I'm starting to find it pleasing that a shade of nail polish or powder that I see now will very likely be there in 3 years lol.
The rimmel primer in a white tube with blue writing has been a tried & true since highschool & I'm 30 now! Their translucent pressed powder was the only powder that didn't give me a white cast & set really well back when the drugstore wasn't made for us🖤
What's the powder called please? I'm medium deep skin as well, want a translucent powder in my kit but afraid of looking like Casper the ghost, is there flashback when you take pictures with flash?
@lookingatdaisies9901 "Rimmel stay matte powder" in the color translucent & it's pressed. Unless the formula has changed recently, it's great! Pretty cheap too in comparison to other drugstore makeup!

I tend to go grungy, gothic and dark, but sometimes my pencils are breaking up on me. Not sure if I should be layering or overblending pencils. It may be because they are waterproof?🤷🏻♂️
Don’t use pencils!! Just use straight eyeshadow!! Will last longer!! A trick I use, is getting like a dark black or dark navy blue eyeshadow, spraying a sharp pointed brush with setting spray, and then dipping and swirling it in the shadow, to use as a liner. The liquid makes it so it’s slick and similar to a pencil texture to put on, the setting spray makes it last forever once it’s dry, and you can make eyeliner out of any colour eyeshadow you have laying around! It’s the best hack I ever found out!! If you don’t have setting spray, you can even just use a little bit of water. But the setting spray makes it last longer for sure.

I’ve tried loads of foundations but for some reason I always end up going back to the Rimmel Match Perfection. It never fails me. And a tip for the dark skin girls, have a look in your local tkmaxx or even in Poundland. Because they always seem to have the dark shades that they don’t put on shelves in Superdrug for cheap. It kinda irks me that they don’t advertise the very darkest shades but I won’t complain if that means I get it for as low as £1
Damn in Canada it’s only 25hr Lasting Finish, and it’s been my favorite foundation for minimum 5 years at this point! The shade range is trash, and i’m not crazy about supporting a non-shade inclusive company, but it’s the only foundation aside from the discontinued Smith & Cult Veiled Threat that lasts through the workday and makes me look like i have baby skin!
Rimmel shade selection is often trash 🗑. I'm not sure why, after all these years 🤔 🤷🏾♀️ If it hits my local drugstore and the buyers stock it, I may check it out. You've convinced me 👍🏾

It sounds kinda odd, but Amazon has a lot of deeper shades that are not usually found in stores. Might be worth a look.
