The pizza vid is top notch. If you enjoy Steve's brand of humor, you'll love it. His documentary is pretty cool too. You get to see his adventurous side. And playfulness.
Seems like where he decided to go for it a bit and branded himself with the camping with Steve slogan. I'm restarting here after watching 20 vids or so randomly hahaha
Steve, after watching about a dozen of your most recent videos, I decided to start watching from your earliest, working up to the most recent. You were the inspiration for me starting my own nature/camping/hiking channel and today I posted my very first video. Definitely not a polished masterpiece, but like you did, I hope my videos get better as I go along. Thanks for the inspiration!
I remember watching the boondocking documentary when I was 19 and have been watching ever since. I’m glad to see this channel on its way to a mil. Of all the outdoors channels, this is the most relatable to the average person, and can serve as a spark for their love of the outdoors, like it did with me. For this reason, I believe public high schools should replace biology with 1 hour of camping with Steve per day.
Place a tarp on the ground while keeping the edge inside the tent a little bit. This will provide a cold air vapour barrier for inside the tent. Also it will keep the heat from the fire from melting the snow on the floor. Bank a little snow around the outside bottom to prevent drafts. A heat reflector like steel roofing or the metal sides of a washer/dryer can be placed behind the stove for maximum heat reflection. An additional tarp can be draped over the roof with a hole for the stovepipe. It will let any snow slide off or melt away and help prevent snow from sticking to the tent and causing heavy ice or leaky roof. Tie it down with bungee straps or ropes. One more thing:Balsam fir tips can also be used to cover the floor area;and animal hides as well ,for prehistoric carpeting.
Thank you for being my breakfast companion Feb 20, 2020. Falling through the ice, I can attest is no fun. I fell through the ice in 2007 and have been ill with chronic respiratory problems ever since, evolving into a rare disease called sarcoidosis. In Red Bank New Jersey there is a sport called ice boating complete with ice boat yatch clubs and all. It doesn't snow much in New Jersey so ice boats can glide very fast with blades much like giant ice skates. Temperatures don't get very cold in New Jersey, as a result this isn't a sport that can be practiced every year, only in the coldest winters. Well I'm almost finished my Rice Krispies, thank you for keeping me company. I am actually in a rehab center recovering from of course from a respiratory infection. So be careful and don't fall through the ice.
Here is the cold ontario trick. Get those colored mats that you put together and kids play on to cushion their fall. Put those cheap lite mats on the ice cold ground and make it cozy and they can get wet but stay dry......FOAM PADS
Always good when RUclips suggests you a Steve's video you haven't watch yet ! Even if it is Thursday , it looks like more a Friday (I am based in Australia) :)
+1 for the tarp as a floor, even a moving blanket for "carpet" and use 2 cookies sheets under the stove to prevent embers from making holes in your new floor
You have to heat the back of the stove up first. I have one of these, I also welded the ash cleanout door shut, and I put gas getting around the front door. I got to really do an a video on this stove. It's actually not quite bad.
I noticed you don't use guy wires-nylon 550 paracord to secure center of middle of ice fishing tent structure -- in un-poped in to held out position, why's that? I saw paint roller extension on other video used as center ridge post. Steve o really like lag bolt hold down idea great for for frozen earth. just started watching your channel like what I'm seeing love the pace of vids. I live just south of B.C. Canada south of the border; perhaps if you're camping out that way we could set up tents alongside one another up in Canada or down south hereabouts, thanks for all your content David
Where about's is this? I like to do a little panning in the summer and always looking for new spots. Also want to get into winter camping. What size is that ice hut?
Don’t ya just hate those ads like the Tribal tiny buddy enlarger that revived their marriage and the seggs was good as she said. I definitely don’t understand why I see those ads from time to time but I watch them anyway so that Steve gets to benefit from it.
I saw your video about the new stove and your complaints about the stove with 2" flue! It's no wonder y'all were battling the smoke! You need to keep the door shut as much as possible! It restricts the air flow and forces the smoke up the flue! You just weren't using the old stove right!
ok, so somewhere between 9 and 6 years ago, Steve made a physical transformation (he cut his long hair off) - I want to know the story - what caused the style change? It feels like 2 different ppl made these videos. We need a documentary to explain this - the Life of Steve, or, From Panning Gold Steve to Camping Steve.
Who the heck camps next to Saskatchewan river in fricken March? That’s fucken crazy. I live in Manitoba there would have to be sum trophy hunting or trophy fishing to get me to camp out there.
A good place to add the stove jack in an ice fishing tent is the Velcro windows. Just fashion one the same size and Velcro it on when using the stove. I have seen this a few times in MB.
Steve, I just got an ice fishing tent and a small wood stove just like yours. Can you give some details on how you made the hole for the chimney? Thanks brother!
Can you let me know what ice fishing tent that is I'm looking for an affordable one I got a kni co packers to heat with but I'm using a polish lavvu poncho tent right now it works but is small for me and my dog
I currently own the woodstove you have in this video. It's complete garbage. I originally ordered the one you have in current videos but it was out of stock, and the round one was all they had left. I've used it about 10 times and it still sucks. The chimney is too narrow and there is no flue to control airflow, total trash. Came coated in some cheap spray paint that had to burn off for at least 10 hours, now it's rust colored.
thanks! It was about -10C outside, I got it up to about 10C inside, I've upgraded to a better wood stove. That one only had a 2.5 inch flue, and i couldn't get good draft going. The new one should be able to warm it right to uncomfortable heat. Will be filming the next trip out in a few days. Cheers!
When you've binge watched camping with steve and start watching fish and chips, ducks from the past, ahh golden steve classics.
Check out his pizza vid!
The pizza vid is top notch. If you enjoy Steve's brand of humor, you'll love it.
His documentary is pretty cool too. You get to see his adventurous side. And playfulness.
Like deep fried egg 🥚😂
hahaha im with ya
It’s like a whole different experience ain’t it
I'm starting here.
Seems like where he decided to go for it a bit and branded himself with the camping with Steve slogan.
I'm restarting here after watching 20 vids or so randomly hahaha
Nah. You have to start at the beginning like I did. He’s got some decent fish and chips vids.
@@joshuamendoza2527 that alfredo sauce recipe was legit lol
Same... Well I did watch the first, and a couple randomly, but this is what I came to see.
Started with Pizza Hut pizza
A camping legend was born.
Starting from the beginning again. Time well spent.

The world is a better place, when you're watching Camping With Steve. Fact!!
Home, sick, watching old videos…. Love it
The beginning of an era!
What a fun memory. Life goes to fast. Thanks for the video Steve.
This is where it all began!
Here after seeing this tent being retired!
Yep same :')

Hot tips Susan, thanks for sharing your wisdom!

Winter camping are my favorite Steve videos. Probably because I'd only ever camp if it was freezing out.
0:00 The beginning of greatness!
LMAO, "It's probably the end of March..."
Been watching a while and decided to go into the "Way back machine" to catch your earlier stuff..
you too eh? all these camping videos have got me itching to load up the vehicle choose a direction and find somewhere cozy to set up.
Same here..
Wow to see how this man has grown. You’re inspiring me 💙
A new video for me,a blast from the past for you!
Vintage Camping w Steve. Cool to see some of the beginnings of the channel
Always good when RUclips suggests you a Steve's video you haven't watch yet ! Even if it is Thursday , it looks like more a Friday (I am based in Australia) :)
pretty cool seeing you come back here when its not covered in snow
Awesome shot at 4:10. Pause the frame and make pretend that that's your vehicle and tent. In all that solitude. Man oh man. Thanks, Steve!!!
Steve, you're a legend here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Im an avid winter camper, we have very similar winters.
used to use the tent inside of the tent method. is worth a try steve, it really helped me, we had a dome like you got. then another tent inside of it
Absolutely beautiful ❤
Gotta love beginnings
I’ve officially watched every camping video of yours! Big fan, man! What made you start making camping videos? Cheers
start of a beautiful journey
+1 for the tarp as a floor, even a moving blanket for "carpet" and use 2 cookies sheets under the stove to prevent embers from making holes in your new floor
This is a camping dream of mine. I just wish they made a tent like that that is twice the size. One that would fit me and my fam.
Quite a cozy little set up you have by the river - the stove is a nice touch!
❤ the first of so many
so this is pretty much the first camping with steve- feels like there was content missing before this
This is where it began.
That must be an older stove? I guess this one didn’t work?
And the truck still had a window in it and wasn’t broken out yet....
Classic Steve... 😀
I'm late to the party but this seems the place to begin.
Steve should take his camping nationwide. In USA too. We have a good spot for him here in Texas.
After saving the tarter sauce and Alfredo sauce recipe I’m here to see the “first” camping video 😊😁.
I ice fished for a long time now and yes ice melt bottom to top
Alright! Here is where it all began!
Good looking fire.btw the flue pipe would be 6" or 5".love yourvids.
I am a chimney Sweeps.
The Black Angels? Good tunes Steve!

Had to check out these oldies, should of done it sooner ❤🇦🇺
There's no cheating when it comes to dealing with the cold.
Now you’re camping with Steve.
Nice to see your beginnings....
Is the the official first episode of camping with Steve?
I noticed you don't use guy wires-nylon 550 paracord to secure center of middle of ice fishing tent structure -- in un-poped in to held out position, why's that? I saw paint roller extension on other video used as center ridge post. Steve o really like lag bolt hold down idea great for for frozen earth.

I love camping!
This seems a good start, kinda like jumping around sequence, still like it tho 😊
Is it worth buying an ice fishing tent rather than a standard tent?
Looks coold. But definitely peaceful.
Im not sure..if this is the first steve camping?
Steve, Aren’t you glad you got the alpine camp chef ??
The OG video
Is this the official starting place for the camping adventures?
I was here!😊
Where about's is this? I like to do a little panning in the summer and always looking for new spots. Also want to get into winter camping. What size is that ice hut?
Steve you should camp in Arizona for the winter
Don’t ya just hate those ads like the Tribal tiny buddy enlarger that revived their marriage and the seggs was good as she said. I definitely don’t understand why I see those ads from time to time but I watch them anyway so that Steve gets to benefit from it.
Old gold is what I like to call these old videos, do u still have your dodge pickup?
Love the videos Steve down here in Cajun country South Louisiana
I saw your video about the new stove and your complaints about the stove with 2" flue! It's no wonder y'all were battling the smoke! You need to keep the door shut as much as possible! It restricts the air flow and forces the smoke up the flue! You just weren't using the old stove right!
The saga begins
Wow I didn’t know they recast crazy neighbor

First video vibes

How big is your tent?
Its coold i think there
Who the heck camps next to Saskatchewan river in fricken March? That’s fucken crazy. I live in Manitoba there would have to be sum trophy hunting or trophy fishing to get me to camp out there.
you are not using a stove jack? i just bought a fishing ice hut and was anticipating having to sew in a stove jack ....please help with some advice!
A good place to add the stove jack in an ice fishing tent is the Velcro windows. Just fashion one the same size and Velcro it on when using the stove. I have seen this a few times in MB.
Steve kinda looking Wolverine-ish in this video.
What is the temperature inside your ice hut?
I wonder what went down between this and boondocking…
"It's probably the end of March",,, yea buddy, that when you've really been off the grid.
Steve I want you to do this again!
a small buddy heater would make the place hot as hell
I've got one I use to take the chill off before I get the stove going. I find the buddy heaters put a lot of condensation into the tent.
Steve Wallis yah your right they do I like your set up tho on a lake tho 😀
keep making videos!!!!!!!
Kandace Kills
Kenneth Bushor yes??
Kandace Kills si?
Steve, I just got an ice fishing tent and a small wood stove just like yours. Can you give some details on how you made the hole for the chimney? Thanks brother!
Try this video, he shows most of his process: ruclips.net/video/B13CRYvJSHc/видео.html
Is there room for your Mrs in that tent? I think she'll take some convincing...
Long time ago steve...you look alot Skinner here... Alittle to many step. 2' s😁👍
What brand is that tent?
Can you let me know what ice fishing tent that is I'm looking for an affordable one
I got a kni co packers to heat with but I'm using a polish lavvu poncho tent right now it works but is small for me and my dog
This guy uses the Eskimo brand and details his modifications at 6 mins : ruclips.net/video/WVdP8wM1jxg/видео.html
Do you still use this stove?
What would you change with it?
Needs a bigger flue and maybe another breather hole in the door
Step 2 in full effect
The first video with the ice fishing tent.
Drink water, eat good, and wonder at the sight of snow.
LOL 2:00 i see you steve

Great hot tent setup. I look forward to more videos of you using it. How hot, were you able to get the tent inside?
thanks! It was about -10C outside, I got it up to about 10C inside, I've upgraded to a better wood stove. That one only had a 2.5 inch flue, and i couldn't get good draft going. The new one should be able to warm it right to uncomfortable heat. Will be filming the next trip out in a few days.

Right on. I'm sure your new stove will be more efficient at distributing heat. I look forward to your next outing and video. :)
@@campingwithsteve Just wondering how big your fish house is? Is that a 4 man?
Looks like mother earth/genesee area
Steve becomes a man, cuts his hair and loses the metal look heheh
@1:13 Steve looks like the lead singer from simple minds
Wow, three year gap in videos. I had no idea.
you were listening to black angels - bad vibrations
This is where it rebegan i'm guessing.
