I finally found the perfect roundabout to crawl into and go camping for the night. It was a very stealthy spot, and I've looked long and hard to find one like this. It was a typical night of hiding, drinking beer, and being quiet, but it was exciting as always. Overall a good camping trip, but I did find it a bit noisy of a night so likely wouldn't camp there again.

This is gonna become a trend and next thing you know you’re gonna be walking into your apartment and hear somebody underneath your bed say “I think this is a pretty good stealth camping spot, the owner has just returned home, but from my perspective here I don’t believe he’ll be able to see me. Now I’m just gonna finish my turkey wrap…”

@@Senbonzakuraa it's crazy how much Langford has changed over the last 10 years or so. Hell I remember when they moved the bus stop from the mall up to the train tracks. Trying to keep all us teenagers from hanging out at the green box, it worked I guess lol.

Small world
Now 6.4 so over million more views on a month! Thats crazy.
I love how he acts like he's stealing diamonds when rly he's just sleeping in dirt, what a precious soul.
Police will treat average people like they're stealing diamonds when they jaywalk, and ignore hardcore thugs when they're beating and stealing from people
sadly camping out like this is basically as illegal as stealing diamonds.....
People get summarily executed by the police all the time in the US for being homeless and sleeping somewhere "they're not supposed to" (which is everywhere)
Baaaaahahahaha
Yeah go out in the streets for a night and you will understand why. The police harass you if you’re homeless you can not relax any where because at any moment they may pull up and at the very least make you move along.
The power of the hi vis to get into any place inconspicuously is underrated
In the year 2000 it was mich easier. I went to so many car shows like iaa in Germany and did not pay a cent for 5 years 😂
Some people who hop freight trains will wear the same brand hi vis as the a rail company if they’ll be around a rail yard because of how much less likely they would be to bother you.

Best way to not attract any attention is to be obvious.
If somebody is holding a clipboard or has a construction vest, nobody will question it.

The fact he didn't have to face a firing squad or get thrown in Alcatraz after this little fiasco is a miracle. Truly a lucky break.

Hey man, this was the first video of yours I stumbled upon, last year. Go RUclips. When is saw ROUNDABOUT on the screen I laughed my butts off, me and my best friend started doing stuff like this when we were twelve, and a roundabout was the first, and favorite place. Being as close to humanity as possible without anyone knowing instills this strangely powerful feeling. Like a nervous confident giddiness, you know the feeling. Anyhoo, at the end you actually said “everyone’s childhood dream come true, ROUNDABOUT”, so touching and humorous to a fellow pea in the pod. Probably my favorite video just based on the location itself.
Ok, I, and everyone who subscribes, loves your sense of humor, your politeness, and general mannerisms, moral code of following the rules while bending the piss out of them, you’re a riot, and we love you. Also, your soothing radio voice simply makes it a pleasure to have on the tv. If just one or two high ranking politicians from each country were like you, we’d have no worries for the future.
Please never stop this channel…
Wow, Patrick, thanks so much! Radio voice…🤣🤣. Enjoy hunkering down, my friend!
Hi Steve, you do have a great radio voice. You should do a programme for radio.

It is now January 2024 and it's always crazy to see how far this video has come and how much I've fallen into the stealth camp rabbit hole. Cheers, Steve!
I really enjoyed this. A year ago or so I got into Vagrant Holiday videos where a dude essentially visits a bunch of countries without spending much at all by camping in the wild and unseen places. I'm glad I found a similar channel. I've been interested in survival since I was a kid. I grew up watching survival shows, primarily Survivorman. My dad and I camped a lot and I learned how to make a fire several ways without a blowtorch or lighter. I'm not in very good shape due to an injury that prevents me from being very mobile, so I'm happy I can still live vicariously through videos like these. Plus, I probably wouldn't have the guts to camp in a place like this.

The reflective vests are actually probably the perfect way to hide in plain sight. Sure, you're more visible. But to myself and I'm sure many other people, if I see someone in a reflective vest, I generally just assume they're there on some kind of official business.
If you look like you belong, that you HAVE to be there and have the demeanor of someone bored and doing a job? Can pretty well go where ever you want
I do this all the time. If you look and act like you belong somewhere, you might as well belong there for all intents and purposes
In 20 years of trades work, I can tell you that you can put on high-visibility coveralls, steel-toed boots, a shoulder-slung toolbag, and carry a clipboard, and if you're acting like you're actively looking at things(following pipes on the ceiling, or pausing to inspect lights/hydrants/etc.), people just assume that you belong and don't question you.
Can confirm with the clipboard alone. Old job I had, doing deliveries, no real dress code so in the summer was basketball shorts and a t-shirt, and no one ever stopped and questioned me.
Exactly. I’ve always heard a clip board in hand and a little confidence will get you in anywhere.
This is the coolest place you have tried! Good thrill/scare with the patrol guy.
Stealth tip; try to just clack the very right corner of the can seal and get as much air out. Then, use your thumb and push down moving from the corner you clacked the rest of the way. Get some kinks out so they don't randomly do that clang sound, and enjoy!

One rule to share why movement at dusk is important - human eyesight is at its worst functional level during this time because of the dynamic light range. Think of a camera trying to show extreme highlight with extreme shadows where it starts to have trouble. If the sun is setting it's still bright enough to cause a low level "sun blindspot" which makes looking into darker areas harder because you're compensating for the brighter light. In summary, a person will take in less visual information than other times of the day or night. This is also the time of day where nobody can see through your windows in your car, even if it's perfectly clean. At night the lack of light does make it more difficult but the eyes are fully compensated at this point. There is also less activity for someone to discern from and people are normally roused to automatic suspicion during late night as well. But not during dusk when people are still shopping or just on their way home from work etc. Something taught to me and I've observed its use as well.
sometimes when i’m walking late at night and i pass a big bush, i always worry there’s someone in there who will jump out at me.
“that’s ridiculous” i tell myself “no one hides in bushes.”
YOU HAVE NOW REAFFIRMED THIS FEAR IN ME
jk i know you’re harmless
Steve just keeps upping the ante. 2024: "Hey everybody, I've been wanting to do this one for a long time. Today I'm going to be stealth camping under the counter at a police station"
Lol
rofl dont give him ideas
Stealthing at a prison!
Stealth camping in white house bushes
"hey guys, im currently in the oval office, under the presidents desk. hes in the room right now so i have to whisper, but i havent been spotted yet. i managed to get a bivvy setup down here, and i'll be cooking steak over my dry fuel stove"
"I do struggle to come up with stealth camping meals that I can actually fit into a backpack and prepare in something like a roundabout quietly without fire exploding all over the place" - hands down the greatest sentence ever spoken.
Trust me bro, you have already become a 1 million subscriber youtuber imo. You have actually increased your sub count alot since I started watching, and your content keeps getting better. I'm in kind of a rut right now so I really needed this video to stay motivated, and it helps to have some kind of goal. You're a life saver man, keep doing what you are doing❤
Quite the treasure I stumbled upon to, and I'm so here for it! I love...the idea of camping. I could never manage to convince anyone to come with me plus with health issues, I can't rough it like I want. I shall soak in the spirit of stealth camping!
I love how in google maps the roundabout is now labeled “Steve Wallis Roundabout” maybe they’ll put up a statue of Steve in the middle. I think this is the best stealth I’ve seen yet. Good job!
That's Hilarious. Lol
With reviews! Lol
Agree.. the best stealth camping vid.
I just looked, and i’m surprised you weren’t pulling our leg XD
First time listener, stayed for the show. Aren’t algorithms wonderful. Go Steve!
As I am on the verge of homelessness at the moment, watching this man somehow eases my anxiety about the whole situation. I'm not sure how I came across this channel but thank you for doing this. It really has changed my perspective about my life and how I can turn this into adventure instead.of a tragedy
Changing your perspective can be so powerful. Wish you the best of luck!
Get a van or a truck with a camper. You’ll never worry about a place to stay ever again & you can go & be anywhere & everywhere, basically.
@@ezpzyogi or, you know, get a job and rent a place to live.
@@SteenSpinal4LIFE maybe if they have a family that’s what they should do. If not, be free & untethered, it’s unbelievably fun.
@@ezpzyogi i guess to each their own, but always showering in truckstops doesnt seem that fun to me for extended periods of time
if you want a good meal for stealth camping, I highly suggest US MREs, they are nice and compact and fit in a backpack or any ruck u use. They also come with a flameless ration heater similar to hand warmers, they warm your food and warm you
What a humble guy! So glad I came across this channel!
Safety Patrol guy was probably like "Is that Steve Wallis? I bet he's doing a stealth camp in this roundabout! This is going to be hilarious, I'm going to go park over there and eat my lunch and really freak him out."
i know i will probably sound annoying by commenting this but is he really eating lunch in the evening lol
@@FaceyDuck wtf???
haha, I really hope so!
I think more people know Steve than he realizes at this point. I've been watching for years and my dad found him out of the blue about a year ago.
Btw we got a really good spot behind our house that you're more than welcome to use someday. Theres a pond, a huge clearing, a fire pit, dry wood and almost nobody knows it exists but my family. The overgrowth is so thick you could hide there in the winter. I mean we'll know you're there but nobody else will, not even my next door neighbors because they both have tall privacy fences. I'd have to crack open a step two with you but we'd leave you alone for the most part. Just saying if you're ever in my neighborhood.
@@FaceyDuck lunch time is relative to when you start your shift.
I drove by this roundabout thousands of times going to hockey practice in langford growing up. Never in 1000 years would I ever think of camping, let alone someone else camping in there lol. Great vid, this was awesome!
When I saw this video and clicked in I just saw the roads I've driven uncountable times and had to watch on to confirm if I was high or not, but everything lined up and nothing was out of place, kinda crazy

i always come back to this one, it's a certified classic
I just found this channel, and I absolutely love this man. He’s living and doing exactly what I love, being PG + sneaky. 😘
Imagine reviewing your dashcam and seeing Steve's face in a roundabouts bush lol 😆
That's gonna end up on Nukes top 5.
Imagine sleeping in a roundabout and a vehicle deciding to go straight
Lol

@@nickabel8279 he said there were rocks around the roundabout to block cars
Can we just appreciate the fact Steve has escalated these stealth camps from what we thought was "stealthy" like sleeping in a car at an airport or in culvert under a secluded road, to now what can only be compared to that of spending a night essentially on stage surrounded by people unbeknownst to anyone!! Absolute legend Steve, keep it sneaky brother!
Ever hear of homeless people? They aren’t famous and yet they do the same thing. That’s crazy
When I was homeless me and my friends would sleep like this all the time! Favorite place was in an underpass. We climbed up the side and slept in a little alcove under the bridge. People would walk by but never see you LOL
And I stayed in many of bushes. I would look around and finding places and bushes that looked good to sleep in and make a little camp
That airport episode was tense.
I like the high visibility jacket and gloves and all the prep work he did before entering the bush....like he was about to storm a castle or something.
