Being Retired military, I have Rucked with a ton of gear in that same Ruck Sack ( Backpack) and the fact you carried a full tent plus all your gear, You are a BEAST!
I’m 61 and did this in February in the interior of BC for two nights in 22’, just me and my dog. Drove up a logging road and parked my 4x4, and proceeded to haul all my gear on snowshoes and dragging a ski pulk about 300 meters up a hill into the forest. Took me a lot longer than I had anticipated, since I had to keep a fire going to keep my dog warm. Finally got set up in my Luxe Megahorn tipi and Winnerwell stove and got to bed at 1:30am, do t think I was ever that exhausted in my life. Got down to -18C at night but we stayed warm enough due to good sleeping systems. It was a great experience and have done various winter camping trips since. Planning on doing one similar this winter in February but with my Russian hot tent.
@@rileymcelmurry6604 I used my Russian bear tent on a frozen lake in BC last February. I used my ski pulk to drag all my gear on the lake and spent two days and nights out there with my dog. Didn’t catch much but it was a great experience. No one was on the lake at night so it was incredibly quiet. You’ll have a great time. Just make sure that ice is thick!

All that effort for one nite is ridiculous. But I have lived in similar in the Snowy's OZ, for all of an autumn and a winter, no bigger then that, with a homemade stove, I loved it.

Well, yet another video of the long arduous task of the long tent prep and set up...... eating supper(dinner for some) eating breakfast... the the equally long tedious process of taking down the tent.... While I love the outdoors, for 1 night... I just would rather eat out at a night family restaurant, then sleep in my own comfortable bed....
Lots of gear, lots of weight, a shelter of small/medium branches, a fire and minimal equipment would have been preferable. I wonder what the cost of all the implements was.
Hmm, I've done this NW wisconsin, I have stove pipe in the tent venting out of the top because it also provides heat, why have 90% of your pipe outside?
A barraca não é propícioa para a neve. Deveria ter um Tapete térmico no chão. Tudo muito precário. Seria ótimo para um começo de inverno,as não com tanta neve.😢
One of the worst setups that you can do for winter camping. Tent is to big and too flat. Btw was this during covid or are you just cold because the temp looks like it is around -2C?
- I really don't care where he is at. For him, where that tent is becomes Shan-gri la for him. This provides a break for him..even if it's in his own back yard.

I just bought a Nordic legend ice fishing shack/tent it has a stove port. I'm so excited to use it this fall/winter

I did that in the Swedish army…. One of us kept watch to keep the fire going all night… not my best experience but memorable

How far are you pulling that sled by hand?
I recommend a sled harness and a homemade strain reducer between the harness and the sled.
