Thanks, good review. Didn't sound like there were any negatives? Is it still good 15 months on? We're looking to replace our old one which is very similar but without the screen and smart tech.

Juan Camacho just wondering after 7 months if you still like the Family Hub on your refrigerator? I ordered last month the French 4 Door with the Family Hub but it won't come in until the end of next month. I see Best Buy has in stock the French 4 Door without the Hub. Just wondering if you are still happy with the Family Hub
I've had one for over a year now - my observations are: 1) the RING app is fairly slow to respond - it's decent to view what's already happened but if you want to answer a doorbell it may not work well in that regard. over the past year we had to sign in to the ring account a few times - it seems to be better lately - live view isn't stable - again it would be nice to be able to keep an eye on your front door from your fridge but you would have to tap too many things in order to do so and when it times out you'd have to do it again. 2) Spotify (at least) isn't the full app so you have to use it similar to a device from your phone/web app - not a big deal). 3) the cameras work well but if your 'fridge is like ours you really can't see much - i.e. if you are looking to see if you're out of butter and it's in the back you may not be able to see / find it. 4) just having an internet browser is very handy for following recipes and even for recipe videos. 5) timers are decent - the volume possibly is a bit low and there's a couple taps to start/set them - still very handy. 6) not unique to the family hub fridge but the filter is very good - we have decent water where we're at but my kids drink more water due to the improved taste - water through the door flows well/fast enough to fill large bottles/pans/etc. - the Samsung filters _are expensive_ (roughly $50 each) but IMO they're worth it - they say you should replace every six months but we kept ours in service for around a year and no noticeable difference between the original and the new (OEM) one when replaced a few days ago - I tried just ordering a new filter through the fridge itself but seems that the service isn't available anymore - no big deal a trip to HomeDepot where they stock them. 6) I'm still trying to find that perfect Amazon item we use regularly enough to setup a dash button on the fridge. 7) would be cool if they had some shortcuts or gestures to do things like view what's inside (like knock twice to view what's inside) so after the novelty of the cameras wear off you probably won't use the feature much.
Overall I like mine but I wouldn't pay _that much_ more than the same model without the Family Hub maybe $100-200 - I bought mine as an appliance bundle during a Memorial Day sale a year ago and got what I thought was a good deal....

We just bought the same model today too! I'm really excited but won't get it until the end of October that's how far back their back orders ours. The refrigerator we have now is also a Samsung too, we have had it for 16 years. never had a service call on it either (knock on wood) always kept the Evaporator coils vacuumed out at least 3 times a year. I just don't want to press my luck lol really enjoyed your video. thank you so much. I'm like a kid on Christmas, can't wait to get my new toy!

Great review. I love my Samsung Smart Fridge! I think it will be interesting with the new update, where the cameras try and learn what food you have in your fridge and identify the items. I know it's still in the beginning stages but hopefully it will take off. I can see many use cases for this feature.

I think its littel bit dangerous as it is home appliances thr is risk when kid goes in and it close by itself.....may be they should include some sensor to detect movement

the cameras hide behind the flap the is between the french doors - I've not noticed an issue - I've had my fridge for over a year now - although I don't use the "what's inside" feature that much since the inside of ours is so crowded we can only see what's up front...

The only glitch I had was the screen froze up. I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in and it fixed it.

at 11:12 you mentioned that the door open alert would also show up on the TV. Did you have to enable anything in SmartThings on the TV to see that?
I didn't enable that feature, but when you sign in to the smart things acct on both devices it automatically enables that feature.
How does this compares to the LG?

It does not come preinstalled on there. I will have to check to see if it can be downloaded. I haven't tried.
I as a joke put my Samsung Tablet on my fridge only to have it stick. WTF? How? Well it turns out that the Samsung Tablet has speakers that have large enough magnets that make the table stick to your stainless steel fridge. Don’t believe me? Go try it!! I have been using it for 2 years with no issues. Pretty cool! :-)

It seems to be very energy efficient. Yes you can still put magnets on the front.
How often does the water filter get changed
Usually every year and half to 2 years
I'd love it if you can sync Samsung Notes and Calendar (I like it more than Google Calendar) with it.

I watched another review on one where he pulled up the browser on it and pulled up RUclips and displayed his own videos from his channel. He did his own of course because of copyright.
We watch recipe videos all the time - I don't think it's a problem through the browser - it won't be in 4k and there's no RUclips app - it's not like a normal tablet that prevents you from viewing in a browser. The fridge runs Tizen.

You have to add them via your smartphone using the family smart hub app. Once uploaded to the app they will show up on your TV.

What the hell is a Fridgerator, is it something like a nukular power plant?
Don't buy a Samsung refrigerator. The ice maker will break after less than 2 years of ownership. There is a class action lawsuit against Samsung for their defective ice makers. The ice makers are very poorly engineered, and you will spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on repairs. Also good luck getting a Samsung fridge repaired, very few appliance repair shops are willing to work on them, and you will wait weeks, if not months for parts!
