This has been a rough year for me. Had a surgery in January that I still haven't recovered from. There is something so soothing and comforting about this series. When I don't have anything left in me, this is the perfect level of stimulation. And, having started in Ice Age, it is often a trip down memory lane as I remember alongside you. Thank you for continuing to do this.

i like the commentary because you can't just look up the historical context of cards, anecdotes about them, how their standard was etc

This series is fun for me because we are relatively the same age, started playing on and off since ice age together, and I've been with Ziggy and you since Fate Reforged... you've been my connection to standard since my family started and I couldn't play anymore... and now there's a series I can see someone fawn over bad cards from Homelands that we have collective memories of... I enjoy this daily, even when I disagree with your views... here's to another 100 days!
I can’t believe some people say these ratings are pointless🤦 I personally love this series, I normally have at least 10 minutes to spare on RUclips a day while I brush my hair or fold laundry, these videos tend to get pushed onto my recommended and they often are the first (sometimes only) RUclips video I watch for the day. Keep it up! I’ve been enjoying seeing cards I was unaware of and also love seeing some of my favourites come up in the shuffle too. Love your channel love the videos congrats on 1000 cards rated

Love this series and love your analysis of why this matters. Understanding the relative power levels of cards over time, reminiscing over powerful old cards that power creep has dulled their usefulness. Love seeing Ziggy and you just chilling too!
It's entertaining AND informative, one of the things I like best about this series are just the random stories about your experiences with cards from the mid-90s before I ever first laid eyes on the game (my first experience was scourge and then mirrodin/8th edition) so learning some more info about which of those cards saw play even at the kitchen-table level back in the day when it's not so obvious if a card was good from todays perspective looking back because of power creep. So that's been super informative and fun to hear about.

Loved this series I think I’ve watched every one. I played back in the early days and have most of my og cards, then had a huge gap of about 25 years so this has been ideal for me. When I came back to the game I didn’t even know how a Planeswalker card worked or had even played commander! Now I watch this series and make a note of cards I want. I have a new job where I can put videos on in the background, these are part of my working day!
I love the series so much, I could listen to you talk about random cards for a straight hour dude! It would make a super chill video to listen to on the way to/from work
Also I'm here to champion the diamonds, they are way too underplayed in commander. I will die on the hill that two cost mana rocks are king!

Palani's Hatcher triggers Atla Palani's Dino cascade twice and produces extra dinos and acts as an egg sac outlet once per turn. It's amazing in that one deck.

LOVE U DEV! :) As someone who got into magic 6 years ago or so, this series is amazing! I learn so much about the wonderful history that came before I showed up, and occasionally get juiced when I can relate to some of the more recent ones! Ogre Chitterlord is one of the Jumpstart rares from Eldraine, which explains why it's costed out of Standard.

Mangara's Equity is kinda a meme card. This card could help the opponent as often as it hosed their game plan. The art is great, but the design doesn't stop anything in the formats where it is legal.

Love this series, it's a good "get comfy with a snack" kinda watch for me. Also, Aspect of Mongoose is a real worker in my Vaevictis Asmadi, the Dire deck. Constantly looping fodder for his ability and/or protection from the heat I understandably get? Excellent little card.
Dev, the people who say this series is pointless are just jealous they don’t have 1.4K people listening to them yap about magic cards.

I enjoy the series and definitely don't think it's pointless, but I do think the numerical ratings are inconsistent and arbitrary. There are horribly bad cards that have gotten 4s. Rating on a bell curve where almost everything is a 3-8 and less than 1% of cards are a 9+ just doesn't make sense to me.

Aspect of the mongoose is so awesome! There are plenty of Commander that just gotta survive to do their thing, and this card is cheap to play and avoids the 2 for 1 most enchantments suffer from when board wiped.
This needs a reprint so badly. I'd run it in Alta Palani Nest Tender instead of canopy cover.

Mangara’s Equity is honestly… a decent color hoser in Commander. The fact you can choose between black or red to adapt to your pod is notable, and it’s a convoluted “you have deathtouch”. It also includes all kinds of damage, not just combat damage
I think it deserves a 4.0 instead of a meme grade that I would give it if not for EDH applications

Charmbreaker Devil in my Izzix of The Izmagus Deck is really funny. It runs only Instant and Sorcery spells. Basically anyspell in the Yard is usefull and getting any of them at random is fun. Free flashback. Totally recommend this card.

Dev, this is second or third video where you have been thrown off by blurry card image. The reason it happened here is because you got Salvat version in Spanish, then when you switched sets, scryfall was still looking for Spanish version. But there was no localized Spanish art available on scryfall, so it gave you blurry English image.
To be fair when i was a kid i read most mirage cards that way

Yesterday i was watching the new 10th episode, what happened 😭
Doomsday Specter would be very good at 3 mana but 4 mana kills it both for the rate + return a creature and because hand disruption is exponentially weaker for each turn you wait. Turn 5 (it doesn’t have haste) maybe 4, is very late
In commander even if it looks like it has a home in a Yuriko deck, 4 mana just to bounce back Yuriko and maybe disrupt 1 hand is just not it

Much like couch card of the day, this is a pretty lame attempt to squeeze content out with as little effort as possible. Turns out “I don’t care” isn’t a good argument for or against a magic card and it’s also not a good mentality to have when running a middling RUclips channel
Obviously a lot of people like it according to the comments, so if it's not your thing, that's fine. The title very clearly indicated what kind of video it is so you are perfectly capable of skipping it.
