@@Dr.RiccoMastermind Yeah ! I am thinking the same

Calling you "uncle" is a HUGE sign of respect in India. I feel bad for him, id give him a legitimate job ASAP if I was in the position to do so.
Is it? That’s lovely! Does the brother of a parent have some greater significance? Is it a GodFather kind of a thing? I LOVE the etymology of cultural idioms.
@@OtterMunchy Uncle/Aunty in India frequently means just someone roughly your parents' age that you respect. Doesn't necessarily require blood relation. Not too dissimilar from sir/madam, but can be more familiar.
@@anirudhryali7470 I gotcha! We did the same thing when our D’Otter was small...frens our age were Aunt and Uncle So-an-So...I had forgotten we did that! I find it really special that another culture, so removed from my little Green Mountain life, has the same colloquial phrases and titles. Thanks a bunch for taking the time! ❤️

You are absolutely right! What a beautiful story of hope and the human connection. You can not go wrong when you give love and hope to someone who desperately needs it! I absolutely loved this story.♥️♥️♥️
This guy was quite literately FORCED to do scamming, and for him to come clean and call perogi "uncle" is a very big sign of respect in India.
and he came clean so quickly; he did it for a day or two and said I cant be doing this bullshit.. Its horrible..
The fact that he denied Pierogis gift at first tells a lot about his character.
well...denying gifts given by other is common in india....It reflects your personality about you are for that person, not his gifts
Karan's a good man forced into an evil "industry"
Not a lot of people that end up in these call centres have the gonads to actually out themselves as a scammer and want to stop. Hats off to the guy, and well done Pierogi for helping put him on the right track. You're the real MVP!!
I would say it is because he hasn't gotten paid yet.
As soon as he gets that fat check, he will change his tune.
I remember a few years back an India Dr wife told me America is finished that India is going to take over as the richest nation in the world. I told her America is one nation under God and blessed. I wouldn’t help a scammer. But this guy wasn’t a scammer, he was a lost soul looking for help, guy said he’d been at it for three days with no results and no calls sent. He wanted out and took it the second he could. Even if your story wasn’t real it connected with this guy and helped him to see that the people he was calling were in bad places and having a bad time and he realized he was essentially calling himself.

India must just be so hard to find legit jobs for certain people that are at risk for falling prey to scam center bosses...they can tell when people are desperate for work and are easy to trick into doing this. they aren't always truthful to what the job really is.
Please don't take this as disrespect, but this is the issue with society lately in my opinion. Your emotions kick in before your skepticism. If this guy is honestly moral and grieving it should take longer to make that judgment, but its crying so early thats frustrating to hear since you say it happened in less than 2 minutes. Let me tell you how my brain put this together up until maybe half way in..... this guy may easily have watched Perogi and knew it was possible he would eventually get called working as a scammer and recognized him this call and knew he was a good dude, perfect way to change your life right?... now you can watch this further and accumulate a little more knowledge of the person and maybe base an opinion at that point, but even then you should still be skeptical. But 2 minutes in is just too quick for emotions to supercede your logic. I suspect the majority of "regret" is triggered from this same thing. Again, no disrespect. I'm just another dude on a toilet.
@@andrewyanke1787 I understand the skepticism. This edited highlights video really doesn't tell the whole story of the conversations between Pierogi and Karan that went on for almost a year both on and off-screen. Believe me, if you heard the whole story it would literally break your heart.
Andrew Yanke it’s good to care. It’s great to be an empath. People who cry easily and feel for others are a special kind
This is my favorite video on RUclips by a landslide. I appreciate you and I hope you keep us updated on his situation man. Well done.
agreed.
Thanks man
I am a fan of yours ThisOffendsMeTV and Scammer Payback is the freaking man for helping us all with these scamming. God Bless Scammer Payback and God Bless this man who had a change of heart. Have a blessed day and or night peace ✌️ 🦉🖖
@@KorbinDallasMultipass aye much love🙏🏼 ive been enjoying him and Russians videos
I agree with all of you. This was the best.
I watch all this scams and finally one true honest scamer that came cleaned and got salvation. Perogi you're a legend 🙌
this is amazing... someone who really wanted out and really actually wanted change.. he got you.. he could have gotten anyone.. but it was you.. and you did everything to help this man.. hope he continues on a great path!
Karan, your bravery is admirable. People around the world admire your choice to turn you life around. Wish you and your wife many many wonderful years of happiness.
Did not see that coming.
You have done many great things and this is by far one of the best! I hope y’all get to have a beer together someday!
@24Floppa I am second
helping people like Pierogi did in this video is an amazing thing. The amount of emotion and compassion in this video literally brought tears to my eyes.

😊😊😊😎💯
Give me a second, there’s something in my eye.
something similar happened to my father. a scammer contacted him about a chance to win a big amount of money, and my dad knew it was a bit suspicious but he was desperate cuz he struggled so much feeding me, my siblings and my mother, so he asked her (the scammer) if she was actually saying the truth or just scamming him and if she says shes scamming the truth hed do whatever she wants for that prize, instead, even though she knew she could make money off him, after he told her his story she felt very upset for him and apologized and said it was a scam, she also promised my dad shed quit and never do it again. seeing scammers change their mind and actually feel bad for a vitcim is just..idk..kinda nice? cuz theyre usually scumbags that only care abt themselves.
Hats off to both of you. Great models for us to learn from. Pierogi, you warmed my heart so much. Your $500 and 1 year rent generated soooo much warmth and energy in so many of your followers’ hearts. This is the real meaning of charity and not those phony big nonprofit organizations. Karan is a very courageous proud man, making a very difficult decision on his most vulnerable time. Update please. Wow. Life is beautiful.
I know this is an old video and I'm late to the party, but I really loved this and I hope that Karan is still doing well.
its still awesome to watch any time; welcome to the SP fam :D
ur super cool for the dono; i'm sure that goes to great use ^_^
Me too. Karan , my hat is off to you. Thank you for the smile. I WILL be smiling all day
It's OK to be late don't woryy

You got to him before he developed the hard shell that scammers develop to shield themselves from their actions. Great work dude.
Damn... that makes sense
Basically like getting brainwashed...
I don't ever leave comments on RUclips videos and I've only just found this channel, but after watching this video in particular I wanted to say something. That was very sweet of you to be supportive of this young man and his new wife as they go through their new journey together. He does genuinely seem like a good person who wants nothing more than to make an honest living and have a good life and I hope he is able to do so, it sounds like he has a good start to that now! I also have to say all the words of encouragement you said were very nice, couldn't help but get a little teary eyed myself. We all take a wrong turn here and there but it's how we come back from those wrong turns that really count. Keep fighting the good fight!
I watched a lot of ur videos and honestly I cried like a baby hearing his story 😢😢 thank you for sharing this with us
same
also, usually i’d cringe at someone being like “can i call you uncle” but you can tell family is very important to him.. that was so cute when he asked that’s crazy
in asia, calling an elder person uncle is a form of respect
It's kinda like calling someone "Sir" here in america. A polite and respectful way to refer to someone, even if you don't know them. It sounds weird to us, but to them it's more kinda like "I'll treat you with the same respect as I would my own blood and elder"
yea exactly
Yes a lot of Indians call their elders auntie or uncle
Oh really I’m in the US and for me uncle isn’t too cringe but if people say can I call you daddy I’d get creeped out 😂
I legit started crying watching this. This gives me a little more hope for humanity
Same. This guy is an angel on earth and he probably doesn’t even know it. This warmed my heart and shows no matter how much evil is in the world, there are a lot of good and genuine people who are making a difference on a regular basis
Definitely got choked up at the end. It’s so easy to find examples of evil in this world so it’s beautiful to run across some good. So happy these two crossed paths.
Soft
I started when he offered for the full years rent.
I spent two months in India, including a few days in Kolkata. Stayed with Indians everywhere (through Couchsurfing) and met a ton of great people there. I'm glad you were able to find one too in this unexpected way. Beautiful to watch what happened next. This is why I'll continue to love us human beings. Even with all our faults, mistakes and darker side. ❤
Not gonna lie this guy kinda touched me , I normally don’t care about the scammers you connect too but I think it awesome what this guy did.
This is, without a doubt, one of the most depressing and in the same time - one of the most wholesome videos I watched on YT. I hope that after these 7 months Karan is still doing his best to keep his mom and dad proud of him!
I literally cried after watching this.
I cried as well! ❤️ now I’m wondering how this young man is doing. Please update us on this one! And many thanks to you for all you do! 🙏🏼
Editor here! Karan is still doing good! We get in touch base with him periodically and he's currently doing well in a legitimate career :D
@@cenapayback Happy to hear that
@@cenapayback Thank you so much for the update on Karan and all the amazing work you do. I am so grateful you all are fighting this crimewave. Much love!
did you hear the uplift in his voice when he said i love you too uncle... priceless brother
That got me as well. You could just tell that he hadn't heard that from an older father-figure since his father passed.
Dang! Even just reading your comment made me tear up again.
@@obns8814 that's a good thing brother
Hearing him ask to call you uncle simultaneously cracked me up and broke my heart! God bless you both!
I really believe he is telling the truth. That's a beautiful thing you did to help Karan and his wife. He has turned his life around and is putting good into this world. He might not have done so if he hadn't met you.
