    I often end up filling other trucks. I have owned the 440P (larger than the 400p in this video) for 5 years and I've been happy with it. I recently ordered the Morrflate set up minus the pump (which is a beast). Once the hoses are out, they're out It's easy enough to swing to a second and third vehicle. I will stick with my Staun deflators though, they don't take all that long. One thing nobody addresses is just how bad the valve chucks are on the bigger Viair pumps - I'll be glad to be rid of it. Now that the truck is paid off, I can afford some of these luxuries.

      The Morrflate is awesome. I got the TENSIX with quad setup and love the quick connect chucks and I can set the gauge on my engine rail to easily see my pressure and I walk to see my car tire pressure. No bending over all the time to see it and it inflates FAST. If you store it right, it’s not like Christmas lights; it’s simple to connect and store with no tangles.

    Pro tip for the guy with the Morrflate: Connect one tire and turn on the compressor. Then continue to connect the next three. That would have saved you a minute.
    As for the "is it worth it". That depends on how successful in life you are. If your poor, no its not worth it. If you are not poor its probably worth it.

    I got the morrflate 5.6 cuz I wanted to use this system on 4×4 jeep and the entire fleet of vehicles at the house (motorcycles, motorhome, cars and pickup trucks) the largest pump says "Don't use on one tire you'll brake the pump prematurely "
    I also am using the 4 tire kit with this pump.
    This aired up the jeep with 33's from 15psi to 32psi with the 4 way hose kit in 7.5 minutes.
    The pump didn't even get a chance to get hot to the touch.
    It also aired the rv, 2 tires at a time to 75psi without issue.

  • @ReimerKeith
    @ReimerKeith 2 года назад +10

    Most of the saved time was due to the pump output. The quad loses time in setup and takedown. The single lets you work ahead of the pump, removing the next valve cap while pumping the first tire, and then adding the valve cap while pumping the next. The biggest advantage is that in between you are getting other stuff done rather than running from tire to tire.

    • @Ajs3371

      All things being equal it's literally the exact same. Both systems have to wait for the pump to push the needed volume air into 4 tires (90% of the time), you still have to go to each and every tire to attach the hose. Actually if anything you're going to each tire twice with the quad setup because you have to go back to turn it on and off.

    • @jakek6599

      If he took the first cap off and set that up then started the pump while taking the other caps off and hooking up the lines it would have saved him time and allow him to work ahead.

    I have a Warn PowerPlant 9.5 winch/air compressor that has done me well for a few years, and I have used the portable air compressors in the past..... but if you really want to inflate your tires quickly without connecting to the battery, and dealing with all the air lines, get yourself a PowerTank w/10lb or 15lb bottle. It will fill +15psi on 33" in 24 sec, 35" in 25 sec, 37" in 30 sec, and 40" in 35 sec.. I have a 2nd bottle to use with air tools if needed. SmittyBuilt has a similar system that is cheaper, and Poly Performance has one that's cheaper than both......either one will do the job much quicker and easier than the portables.....not knocking the systems in the video just giving my view of what I went through airing up after wheeling and overlanding in the past. What you don't seem to understand is that it's not 5 minutes faster THIS time..... it's 5 minuies faster EVERY time. So after 6 uses, that's 30 minutes faster. I'm assuming this isn't the last time you're going to air up/down your tires. Consider that next time you try to decide if it's worth it. If you go offroading 12 times that's saving you an hour.

      That’s hours and hours of your life that your going to gain. I have done the math and have valued one hour of my time is worth $1500 at the current moment. And I’m serious, so a faster setup is literally saving you thousands of dollars over the lifetime. You can buy crap but you cannot buy time. The crap you buy can save you time, that’s money in the bank. So you actually can buy time by buying better crap.

  • @nosilverharbinger
    @nosilverharbinger 9 месяцев назад

    Setup and take down time is important. How much space something takes up both storage wise and setup wise when you are on the side of the road is very important, so if I have to choose I'm going with the viair. The morflate is just a nightmare of cords by comparison. It would take up more room in your vehicle also I would think. If you used it all the time you could get better at managing it and maybe it could be justifiable, but most people only need something for an emergency/one tire is having an issue type of situation.
    All things considered the viair is a pretty fast tire inflator.

    • @RJB1017
      @RJB1017 9 месяцев назад +2

      Agree that time is important, but with that being said…
      Usually when getting off the trail and getting your vehicle prepped back for the road, there are more things to do other than just air up your tires, so with the four tire kit, you can be doing those other things while all four are being aired up without having to move between Each tire, so you accomplish more in the same or less amount of time.

    • @nosilverharbinger
      @nosilverharbinger 9 месяцев назад

      @@RJB1017 The morflate system is faster, but is specialized in it’s use for off-roading. My understanding is that it is not designed to be used with one tire at a time. You have to be inflating 2 or 4 tires or the compressor could be damaged.
      The versatility is a huge selling point for tire inflation systems like the viair. They are better suited for one tire emergencies most people have where sometimes there isn’t much space on the side of the road to deal with them. Besides, unless you are using a pre-filled tank none of these systems inflate a tire so fast that you can’t be doing other things to get ready to head out in the meantime. Remember, in this example the morflate was only about 4:30 faster than the viair at filling 4 tires.
      It really comes down to if you are off-roading all the time, you don’t mind to spend a sizable amount of money, and you already have something to deal with emergencies then consider getting a system like the morflate (or a pre-filled air tank if tire inflation time is truly the most important thing). Otherwise, get something like the viair.

    Question for this race, do both trucks have the exact same tire size? That'll make a big difference if one is small than the other. Brad's tires look smaller than Dave's which would require Dave's tires to take more air, thus long air up time to 30 psi.
    Ah, typed this before Brad said you both have 35's. Dave's do look wider...

    And you also did not zip closed the air hose pocket and snap the final lid closed on your bag. 😂 I'm sure you don't normally put it away like that. 🤔 In fact, when you took it out of the back of your Jeep to begin with, the zipper was closed and the lid was snapped shut. 😲 So maybe 5+ faster. ☺️

    Sorry Brad you got your ass kicked. In a real life situation you don't need to pack everything up and put all the caps on. You would throw the stuff in the ride and get the hell out of Dodge and then pack it up later. Or you could sit in a chair and have a nice cold drink and relax instead of dicking around with all 4 tires. In this competition despite all the rule change bs during the match Brad buddy you got beat. Cool video

    Amateur with the MORRFlate. Run the compressor as soon as you hook up. It will equalize once you hook up the rest.

    old video, but nobody cares about how the people perform. We only care about how the equipment works. Morrflate destroyed the 400p.
