- Firstly - I would like to use this description section to apologise for the long drawn out amateur footage of me rambling on and on. I know i do it and I JUST CANT HELP IT. So to all my loyal subscribers - thank you for being patient.
In this video I show from start to finish how to clean uk coins from start to finish to make them spendable again.
THIS IS NOT FOR NUMISMATICS PURPOSES
THIS IS NOT FOR VALUABLE COINS
THIS IS NOT FOR COLLECTABLE COINS
THIS IS NOT FOR HISTORICAL FINDS
THIS IS SIMPLY JUST FOR SPENDIES.
go ahead and experiment using this method, but only on coins you want to use again and put back into circulation.
THE ABOVE MENTIONED IS VERY IMPORTANT!! And I can't stress it enough.
Anything not spendable DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN IT. NOT EVEN A LITTLE RUB. JUST LEAVE THEM TO THE EXPERTS AND GET ANYTHING 300+ years checked out and recorded by the PAS (portable antiquities scheme).
This video is method #1
I will try and upload a different method every week and then a final video experimenting all the gone over methods to see which one reigns supreme.
Until then please like and subscribe if you haven't already and good luck and happy hunting to all.

Awesome information!
Thanks for video
"Things have different things in them " truest statement I've ever heard
Sorry for delay in reply. Just going through some comments. With this,Facebook and other social media platforms - it's hard to reply immediately. :-
Haha - this vid was a long while back now and I'd like to think I've improved in my speech lol. Don't remember saying that. Lol
👏👏👏
Great video
good video Thanks
Nice video
I was following too closely. I sure didn’t expect you to drop the phone to in the vinegar. I had to go after that but I’ll finish later. 👍🏽
Enjoyed the vid. I reckon when you mix the metals you are creating a battery and the current flow is transferring metal from one coin onto another. Self powered electrolysis in fact, is happening and this would explain the pink coloured pound coins you can get. My tip is to use funny coloured coins in a parking meter or as you say keep coins of the say type together only when cleaning. Thanks I learned a lot watching this and will subscribe.
Howard Adams I think your absolutely spot on 👍🏻. I just couldn't think of the words when recording. Thanks for watching and subbing. Next vid out very very soon. Just had a lot on atm.
180 Felixstowe Hunter aup mate am in felixstowe in a few weeks cant wait to detect on the beachs
great vid. have subscribed 👍
Hl
Pretty good video I’m going to try it👍🏽
Only spendies mind. Don't go ruining anything of importance 👍
I’m going to try it on a japanese coin i found here in San Diego California I believe is from the 60s
Coinstar dude! I dont know if there are Coinstar machines available in the UK but in the States, I "coinstar" all of my clad. You have the option of taking an Amazon gift card and that prevents the commission. I enjoyed the video though and I will apply these tips to some of my keeper finds.
Yes we have similar now... But not when I made this video
great video ;) loving the relevancy of the clickbait thumbnail, videos doing well keep it up ben ;) peace
hippyswift diary's I'm not sure 🤔 what you mean. But 🙏 thanks.

The Gt.Yarmouth pleasure beach tokens cost £1 each, & are usually a brass colour. As they are just for the rides, it should not matter what colour they really are, as I have seen some really dirty ones. (I used to live in Yarmouth)
Lot of people saying just take to supermarket and put In coinmaster machine
these work by recognising the weight so if not in reasonable condition they will be just spat out, trust me I know
then u take em 2 TSB bank they have a machine that takes old coins
Good vid but I don’t recommend throwing modern spendable coins in the bin. Put them in the charity box!
+Stacey Louise !noted! Cheers for watching. Messed up coins won’t be accepted anywhere though, so only the decent ones will go in the charity bucket.
180 Felixstowe Hunter if I’ve finished with a 1p for example can I put another 1p in after the first one is taken out
That's absolutely fine 👍
If you want the best cleaner for coins . . . Silvo for Silver Coins and Brasso For Copper and Brass Coins, these two cleaners give the best fastest clean and Shine !!
I accidentally made my coins chalky. Anyway of fixing?
Does this method work on magnet fishing coins as well cos mine are really crusty
I have a 1971 New Pence, what cleaning method will work for this, and what is a valid price to start the selling, cheers.
Great vid but.................OMG Fish and chips will never be the same again.
A pencil eraser after an hours soak makes them look brand new
Automotive Valve Grinding Compound FTW!
Hey Felixstowe love the content and amazing info you share which helps a damn lot for newbies like myself :) I have found loads of old one pound coins which are rough in texture and orange/brown looking with one of them from 2003 with the writing on the side upside down is this an error and valuable? How would I clean these without damaging them?
Thanks 👍
Hey there. If you suspect anything is valuable then don't clean it at all 👍
I have pennies from 1779, how do I clean them? Only way I’ve found is electrolysis with baking sodA. Purely cause at first we couldn’t see anything on them so thought we’d try the above, but now they look very shiny, almost fake! Where have we gone wrong? 🤔🤨
Unfortunately you can over do it sometimes and ruin coins. That's why I suggest only seconds some times. I would recommend soaking in olive oil in a sealed container for a month. Just leave them and give it a little shake every now and then. If a coin isnt spendable I do not clean them with anything as a rule! Just a little rub with something fine and some water. Remember _ cleaning artifacts devalues them. So only clean anything you don't have interest in getting rid of.
Cheers 👍
cream cleaner by Kelsan will also clean coins in the usa you can order it by computer.
I am well aware this video is old im not expecting a reply...at all but will this technique work on gold and silver rings etc
Great vid, will you be doing one on 100% silver and older copper coins. Can't wait for your next vid, well done and very informative.
Phil the dig thank you. Everyone's support and feedback is what keeps me doing these videos. Glad it was of use to you sir. And yes I will be covering a whole range of cleaning Coins including silvers and a composition of silver content coins.
You've made it sound very simple, however I have real grody coins from the late 1600's and I've tried this method with no luck. The patina is thick as tar. Now what do I do?
One of the pound coins looked like a rare one.
Great vid as always...how do you buff the coins Did you ever make that video?
Hello. Thanks for watching. I did make a video on the buffering process. But unfortunately I had to remove over music copyright (like 5 seconds worth. Tut!) But it's basically use a little silvo or brasso and light rub and then quickly wipe clean shine with cotton wool 😉
@@180FelixstoweHunter Thanks for that I will give it a go. Keep making the vids mate they are excellent.
Rambling is for winners.
Quick question could you use this method but actually plug into UK 240v mains ???
Erm not sure I understand the question
Ok ive just found a King George & Queen Mary coronation medal 1911.

What is the best mixture for this medal as i don't want to spoil it..
Thanks in advance 👍😃
Soapy water
@@180FelixstoweHunter thanks it worked great 👍
I need some foreign coins. I'm from St. kitts
Do you know how to take that pink color out of brass coins?
Don't over soak or it's unsalvageable... Quick dips is all it takes 👍
I'll trade you some American dollar and half dollar coins for your pound and or peas what do you say MATE
I love your videos but am really disappointed with the sound quality of them. They are very quiet and even with max volume I can barely hear you. Any way you can up the sound?
I'm sorry to hear that chap... This particular video you've commented on is recorded quite low I apologize. I have improved the sound pretty much since this video. So the sound quality should be fine on most now. 👍
Thanks for watching and commenting, take care atb and GL&HH
Clean Cleaner has to say by kelsan company
I have a 1p from 122 years ago what metal would that be made from
steel
Does this work with copper 2p and 1p coins
Yes but don't do it to.anything of value or potential value. Just soapy water and a scrub
Nice one. How do you clean old hammered coins?
+leespiderpod new cleaning videos coming soon. I'll show you how in the next one, although the answer is very simple 👍🏻
A steel brush makes them really shinny .
I just take em 2 a super market and throw em in there coin machines
u could just em 2 a super store and use there coin changer
Metal detecting? Always dirty? Coins!
Odličano objašnjenje za čuvanje kovanica i ja sam numizmatičar .Zanima me da li vršite procjenu novca .Pozdrav i unaprijed hvala.
Sorry need English 🤨
It is good at cleaning coins but it would smell so bad
This is true unfortunately..
Good video contents but the audio was awful very quiet
Sorry. Was a long time ago now
could you use this method on george II coins
You can but not recommended at all if it's something you'd like to keep. This method could ruin the whole face of the coin I'm afraid.
I wish the warning not to use this method for ancient coins would of been at the beginning of the video instead of the end...
Exactly I ruined my coin
I used cola
Dont put your Phone in Vinegar....
Oh man...... 😎 😂
Btw.... Please dont Do that without Gloves, because the Patina, witch disolved in the solution is toxic.... You can smell it.... When you put the dirty Things in you smell the change of the smell... Thats the Moment when IT gets toxic.... Sorry for my bad english... 😎
Yeah that wasn't good. Still got that phone somewhere. Still works too 😉
@@180FelixstoweHunter... Wow.. Thats are a good Phone.. 😎 😂 😂
RUclips Show me today your answer..... Three weeks later... Thats fast.. I believe they work still with amiga 500 or Commodore 128...😎 😂 😂
Its good to see this video. But the colour is getting changed. they don come back to original color
Could have edited it down to 15 mins. Got board in between relevant information

@everythingmeansnothing4019
Hahahah that's awesome 👌 welldone for saying what we re all thinking I keep coming back to this vid great tip
Seeing someone wearing a beanie hat indoors lost my confidence straight away and after a short time of watching and listening enough was enough so I will never know if you were helpful or not.
I can only apologise. It was a while ago and I like to think my video skills have improved somewhat since this lol. I will redo this video for the future and make it smaller. But it has helped many who usually just skip to the bits they want lol. Sorry again 😔... So many views would be silly to remove now.
If it helps. It's a cringy video, even for me to watch. Hats off to anyone who can endure the entirety lol
fuck me don't you drag on but great detailed vid i learnt a lot
TheMountainGamers I'm prone to ramble. Sorry. Glad you learnt something 👍🏻
i basically destroyed my 1920 3 coins xD
Method to be used on spendies
Yeah I have had pink
I BET YOU WIFE IS PISSED OFF IF THERE IS NO VINEGAR FOR HER CHIPS.
forget all the rubbish stuff , clean modern coins in harpic black , 5 mins in done , dont mix copper with other coins as they get a copper tint can even use on silver ,gold etc . but dont leave too long .
I use harpic plus which is probably what your talking about as it comes in a black bottle
Weird to see that cleans coins that are disgusting and we get salt and vinegar on our chippy chips
Yup... Vinegar is a known cleaning weapon 👌
SPEAK UP DUDE.
Too much talking.
I agree. This was a long while ago. I will redo this video in shorter format for sure. Sometime soon 😊
But thanks for watching 👍
No hard feelings 🙂.
You know your stuff about coins , but you need to practice making vidio's before you post friend .
Thanks... This was a long time ago, improved much since 😉
