  • I attended a all Datsun car show and swap meet (Datslocos) in California and I was pleasantly surprised at how many classic vintage Datsuns showed up at this event. This video covers at all from Datsun LS swaps to classic Datsun 510s , Z Cars, Trucks , and a couple of rare Nissan Skylines.
    I hope you enjoy the Datsun video and share it with your friends.

    The ls swap is fine with me. People who love these little Datsuns well their car hobbies like the rest of us. They can build it to their liking. Now I heard somebody actually read it somewhere where somebody condemned somebody else. This guy could have picked and saved one of countless American cars that ended up being crushed. But he chose a little pickup truck. I believe it was a Datsun. And it's quite rare more so than a lot of American manufactured cars. So that guy saved a little bit of History rare history.

      I also know this gentleman who you mentioned . I think he was at a junkyard that was about to shut down due to the property being sold off . Sometimes one has to make one choice of what to save. I bet that man struggled a bit with so many to choose between.

    Datsun along with Honda and other makes for that were imported help wake up or automotive manufacturers a little bit. Unfortunately they didn't wake up enough. What happened was hey The Big Three they can make whatever and we will just have to buy it. But then with the gas embargo and reduction supply and increased costs low gas mileage cars became more desirable. So how many families were able to live a little more comfortably because their fathers squeeze themselves into a little Datsun b210 or something?

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  Месяц назад +1

      This is very true!!!!! Many of these models were manufactured with economy ,affordability , and value in mind. The 510 was not considered a sports car it was considered a compact economy car. The 1600 and 2000 roadster was the Datsun sports car .

A friend of my dad's back then had two of them and some guy drove all the way out from California. Although I think you only bought one and the other one I think well I think it went to Topeka Kansas. Can you imagine somebody driving halfway or more across the country just pick up an old car? Or maybe just no sign from a gas ⛽⛽ station. 🤣

      Old people used to complain about playing small block Chevy 350 into Ford's. It's all good. But I will admit I would prefer to have the original make of the car matches original make of the engine. Now you can put a later model Nissan engine into a Datsun

    • @gaspumprob
      @gaspumprob  Месяц назад +1

      Many can argue both sides of what you wrote. I personally don’t have a problem with it because like the 260 owner said “ it was a roller of a roller no engine, transmission, wiring etc” I think it was the perfect candidate to make it his own and he is enjoying it. The rolling shell could be sitting somewhere still . I do appreciate your feedback and I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video. Your opinion is appreciated . Personally I might build a Datsun with a rotary engine swap not LS swap in the future . What is your opinion of a rotary swap instead of a LS swap? Thanks

      You don't like dachshunds? Or Datsun? I understand. You don't really like this video because it had a lot of technical points that I never knew. A little rare? But it's getting 600 horsepower! That equals out to 150 horses per cylinder. How does that ever get boring!
