Can you clean up the silk filaments? Like the seam or the little marks where the nozzle left and came back. Would an exacto or any other cleanup tool make it look better or would it just look worse by trying to mess with it?

This was my first 3D printer and I just got it yesterday, as a complete noob and new to 3D printing, I just assembled it following this video, I downloaded the calibration cube, sliced it with the Creality slicer, and boom, it printed perfect for my first print!! I have the 3D Benchy printing right now and it is also looking absolutely perfect too! I am very happy that my experience in 3D printing has started like this! I didn't have to do any trouble shooting or anything which I thought I would have to do for my first time printing.

I have been using this print for over a year and it is still putting out great prints. I have had success with abs(although from research asa would have better results) and have been printing 95a flexible filament which just needs some glue stick to keep it on the bed. The auto leveling takes all the work out of it and i just tweak setting to maximize print time or quality. I have printed probably about 10 kg of material with no replacement parts. It worked 10 min out of the box and it is working 400hrs later

Excellent and I am so glad I watched. I just received my CE6 SE MAX (yea, it was really late) and I would not have thought to check and tighten all the factory installed bolts before setting it up. Many of my bolts were loose and with a frame this big rigidity is critical. Also had several loose wheels to tighten. I plan to use a 1mm nozzle as this printer is for big parts and using a 0.4mm nozzle is like shooting BBs out of a cannon. Will try to repost and let everyone know how it works. Update - printer is up and running with the first prints perfect. I don't know if any of Vlad's suggestions are the reason, however, I have had none of the many problems people have written about. Next steps are to try printing using Prusa slicer with the needed changes (I do not want to use two slicers and my other printer is a Prusa) and then change to the 1mm nozzle.

I had a look through your comments and cant see if you have let us know HOW you adjusted the extruder. I have done the estep check (97mm extruded for 100mm request) but im getting all kinds of first layer adhesion, stringing and general inconsistent extrusion issues with my CR6SE. I have pretty much found every loose and out of adjustment piece on the printer (a few new ones thanks to this vid) but it would be amazing if you could detail what you did to fix the extruder and send out your settings so at least we can all try to replicate what you have done especially on the filament that came with the printer.

  • @OutlawNix

First off I don't currently own a 3D printer but I hope to get one at some point.
There is some things I like about the Creality CR-6 SE which is the follow. First thing I like is the CR-6 SE is more easy to assemble compare to the Ender 3 versions. The 2nd thing I really like about the CR-6 SE is it comes with auto leveling right out of the box.
The 3rd thing I kinda like is the included filament detector which could be used in some useful ways if your smart about it. You could very well be able to use it create a 3D prints that uses different filament color's. Something like making a vase where the bottom half is white and then the top half is red or something like that.
One thing I dislike about the CR-6 SE is the bowden tube connector's on both the extruder and the hotend they are plastic held in place by a plastic clip. I know they include a couple plastic replacement bowden tube connector's. The question is how long will those plastic bowden tube connector last and will you be able to buy replacements for it at a later date.
I know the CR-6 SE also includes couple extra nozzle's for the 3D printer as well. Now my question is I know the CR-6 SE uses .4 nozzle but the tip look's a little different then the nozzle of the Ender 3. I searched Amazon for nozzles for the CR-6 SE course nothing showed up. I wonder could you use the .4 nozzle from the Ender 3 on the CR-6 SE.

Hello friends. I have this printer. When it starts printing, it first prints a thin and long blank line on the left side of the table to fill the space of the leaked filament. I haven't used the printer for a long time, I started using it again the other day, but it goes straight to printing without doing that blank printing thing. I don't understand what happened. I didn't play with the settings. Is that movement in the printer itself or was it done by the slicing program? Can you please help?

I had similar but very different problems than you had. I'll still be recommending Prusa Mini for beginner 3d printers, but this is clearly a good buy for a bigger print bed, provided you know how to tinker.

I'm so frustrated by the utter LACK of quality from my prints on this device. This is my very first 3D printer and I have spent hours upon hours tweaking settings and trying to get any filament to print right. I got the Creality filament prints to sort of work well, but I bought various Sunlu filament (one wood, one white, one gray) and all of them print a mess. I've tried the stock 200C setting and ramped up from there all the way to 220 with almost no success. Nowhere I've seen has mentioned the extruder issue, so I will try that and see if the quality improves.

The Artillery Genius remains the best 2020 3d printer

    • @Bajicoy
      @Bajicoy 4 года назад +1

Um, it's not a bad printer but "Best 2020 3D Printer" is a big title to be given to a printer that isn't right for a lot of people. There is a wide range of hobbyists and professionals and features the artillery genius misses on which doesn't make it bad, but certainly not the best of 2020.

@@Bajicoy In its price range, I think it is. Which features are you thinking of? You can add a BLTouch, but at this size it's not really needed.

Would you get this printer or CR-10 V3? I am very confused which one to get... I would really appreciate your opintion and reply with some explanation why.

Intersting that yours has rubber feet, one of the other reviews commented that the screws on the bottom scratched his table, so they must be a new addition!

(also) glad I backed it on KS. I'd like to see an exploded view of the extruder assembly, as it seems like it may require some adjusting.

From most reports it's not recommended to open it up as an exploded view you will get. Small parts everywhere lol XD

@@RennieAsh there's a video from creality on it now... it's clunky but once you get the hang of it it's not that bad.

Anyone able to get Cura to recognize this printer? The Cura version on the SD card gives an error and asks you to reset the profile which erases the nozzle info and prevents proper slicing.

Here's a quick tip for getting stubborn prints off of those ultrabase-like glass beds. Wait for it to cool down a bit, then spray some isopropyl alcohol around the base of the print. Wait about 10 seconds, and it should pop right off.

@@ProjectR86 Seems to work with all kinds. right now due to the pandemic all I can find near me is 70%, and it works fine at both popping the print off the glass plate and cleaning it.

The photoelectric switch on mine came broken and I didn't notice until after I assembled. It isn't broken off completely, only the plastic prong looking peice that covers the LED inside. I'm hoping ot won't give me any issues. I couldn't find much info online about to see how crucial of a peice it is or what it does exactly. This video was very thorough but I was hoping maybe I can learn more about that. I reached out to Creality a couple of times but no response...
