Great guide and video. Followed the steps and it worked first time. Took your advice and changed the name to firmware1 straight away. Brilliant. Levelling the bed is much more informative, showing you the calibration it makes for the mesh. Love it. Thanks dude.

Really great. Your review on the CR^SE was also part of what led me to get one in the first place, so thanks for that as well. :)
Just a heads up: Later versions of the CR-6 SE (Don't know about the Max) might have came with a Creality Era V1.1.0.3 motherboard. The ID silkscreen will be smack in the middle if you have one of these Creality Era boards. This is going to be functionally equivalent to 4.5.3, so follow those instructions. Just wanted to put that out there in case you were confused like me when trying to figure out what firmware to go with. Happy printing!
Love the community firmware. Been using it since Christmas. AM eagerly awaiting Release 6. Sebastiaan and team have done an outstanding job when compared to Creality's stock version.
Excellent video! Made it easy to upgrade my (Kickstarter, received in October) v4.5.2 motherboard and v1.0.2 screen firmware. Was previously having a lot of issues (stringing/etc) with the stock MB/TFT firmware and was hesitant about trying the Community Edition firmware but you sold me. I know this video is a bit old, but does anyone have directions on how to change the firmware size of the bed on my CR6SE? I did a change and my bed is now limited narrower by direct drive mount.
Just installed the community firmware, everything works great. One thing you didn't mention in your video ( but it is mentioned in the read me files ), you screen needs to say " T5L1 DGUS2 V3.5 2020.07.30 " at the very top while / after doing the screen firmware ( that red text ) . If it is a lower or higher V number, your screen will be blank after taking out the micro sd card. If this is the case, simply add the files from the "CR-6 kernel upgrade" map to the "DWIN_SET" map and start over again with the screen firmware. Everything should be fine after that.

Bed level didnt work and just tried to level out. Made weird noieses. Now it wont turn back on.
Anyone having issues using Cura or Prusaslicer Vase mode on a CR6SE? My printer keeps printing in a stop go, stop go motion any time it goes into vase mode. Weird stuff. Haven't tried the community firmware yet. Maybe that is a solution '👀
I believe the community firmware fixes that! Otherwise check out Bryan Vines newest video to get rid of it!

@@TheEdgeofTech Thank you so much! This was the solution 😎
I have updated my firmware to version 6, would i use these same instructions for version 6.1?
While watching the bed level process your nozzle temps seem to be up and down. Did you run a PID tune after the upgrade?
I did not for that video
My CR-6 SE would not level anymore. So I reloaded the release 6 software and still had the same problem. Do you have any ideas that might help? I reloaded the beta 5 version and it works, but not as good as the latest. Any ideas?
I would ask in the community forum for the firmware on get hub. They would have the best answer to that one.
Thank you.
My board says V1.1.0.3 so which firmware would I need?
You have to flash the v4.5.3 firmware
