Everyone needs a Greg in their lives. You need a new building with a sign reading, "GREG'S GENERAL STORE", or something along those lines. Great video, Jersey Bill
I was thinking about maybe "Dean's Yard" for my little Loco maintenance area.
@@ScottRails Excellent!
Rio Grande GP-30 from Scale Trains. I have 3 of them. They are very good. The yellow things are re-railing frogs.
The yellow things you see are called "rerailers" in case of derailment and the little red dots are emergency fuel shut offs
15:54 - Yeh ... BigFeet live on. Nice to see the little details you are adding (bear sneaking up on tourist etc.)
Very nice 👍
My club had a visit from Scale Trains a couple of years ago. Very interesting and informative. Several members have some of their locos including the turbines and these GP30s. They really do look and run great. Not sure if they are the best, but that's just a matter of opinion. My Rapido 4-6-0 is right up there!
I am very happy with the 9 that I own
Very cool Dave, love the D&RGW GP30s (although my favorite is the large "flying" Rio Grande lettering version). Also, being a 4 axle locomotive, it really doesn't surprise me that it's a bit on the light side. Scaletrains 6 axle locomotives are a whole different breed, those things are beasts!
I’m gonna buy a scaletrains ET44AC soon. They are very great
I think Scale Trains and Athearn Gennies both hold that Honor, Dave,IMO
What a beauty of a loco, looks stunning. Saw some of them at Model Rail Scotland, at a stand, was nearly tempted to get one. A might just have to do that in the future. Your GP30 runs so very nicely, smooth and looks impressive too. A kind gift indeed. All the best Dave.
Beautiful Loco Dave
nice caboose
The issue with the class lights not staying on is a setting on your DCC controller. The button you press is programmed for momentary contact such as a horn that turns off when you let go of the button.
Very nice Greg!
I got a scale trains SD 45 I recommend it very highly that model I have one of them and that's got sound and it runs like a race horse
Very well done GP30. Adjust F2 CV for class lights. Easily done with JMRI Decoder Pro.
Portable railers is what they're called they're just in case that they have a small derailment instead of calling a wrecking crane they got their own way of rerailing arrogant car
hehehe, "small derailment" that really depends on the speed right.
Sweeeeeet loco. I always love your videos. Thank you for sharing. I have several Bachmann GP 30s. One has succumb to the dreaded cracked gears the others are fine...
So far... lol
I really like the dimensions of this little loco.
Very nice 👍🏻
Oh my wait till you go in the programming of a lok decoder!
If you have some issues, let me know. I do have a Programmer for ESU.
I’m surprised you didn’t get one with sound on it
Nicely detailed as you'd expect for the price. Sold out on their website.
My preference is for Rapido anyway being a Canadian supplier local to me so no hidden costs for Gst when it enters Canada. Used to be exempt for excise duty. Not sure if this still applies.
Now i need to buy one lol
Rerailers in case it slips off the rails u can run loco up on it an rerail the power
There was a comment below stating that #2 is a momentary button, some DCC manuals call it a non-latching function. I would recommend you reprogram the class lights to another button. Making button 2 a latching function is another option, but I would recommend you not do that.
Yes, it is brand new, and it is from the pre ditch light era.
Oh, I figured out how to change the class lights to red, and they stay on. Looks amazing.
Heard The Same Thing Scott.
What Your Talking About Is A Rerailer, Color Yellow, They Carried A Couple On The Branch Lines Just In Case.
Rerailers Dave. Read the letter.
What letter?
Lucky man.
Very nice present from Greg.
Have fun with your new toy.
Happy Modelling
They are grab irons.
For the price they charge, I love the packaging.
Scott, the yellow parts at the rear of the GP 30 are rerailers in case of detainments.
Looks like the dummy plug
Yes
Letter in the box, or did you forget about it also?
Still not figured out my humour then, lol.
Did you hear the Athearn is proucing a rio grande caboose? Matching.
Believe me YOU PAY FOR THOSE DETAILS. Nice but way out of my budget
OOOOh! A Rivet Counter! Nice. Bye the way, Dave, the Decoder brand is pronounced Loke, like Coke or Loc-o-motive, Dave. Not Lock, Goober!
Well, you can keep on mispronouncing it if you like, but since I know it annoys you, I'll be calling it "Lock" correctly.
@@ScottRails Bless your Heart, Dave! I would not expect anything less.
