Hi Rick & Pauline, thank you for the video, loved it, lots of wonderful things you pointed out like the old guard van lanterns, I love the very casual way you get information from different traders, who knew Rick was such a natural at interviewing people like the 507 preservation society, cheers, Pete.👍

Thanks Pete, we were tempted by the brake van lights! I tend to leave people to say what they say and to not but in. They know more about what they are doing so best let them speak. All the best Rick

Something else railway related, it's mad to see how much that has been published over the years.
Not much model trains though, but some very interesting railway memorabilia, really like the lamps, and fully complete with the Color disks, would be a nice gadget in the train room…
Anyway, don't know the exact date but Happy Birthday Rick🥳
    Cheers,
    Danny

Hi Tim, we went to Bolton Toy Fair to pick up a loco that one of the traders had put away for us last year. I couldn't wait as it's a LTD edition Wrenn. We did bump into Jason at the fair and popped into the exhibition being set up afterwards. Glad it went well. Cheers Rick

The train lamps were used in different ways on different railways. The Southern Railway had two sets of portable lamps, one for the back of the train and one for signalling in bad weather conditions when it might be difficult for a train driver to see the main signals.

Pauline, I think Rick was being a very naughty boy, Gnomes for heaven sake, train spotting! I would leave that to Seagulls😂😂😂😂. By the way, you could have brought a loco named after me, Harry! Could I ask when you see some European locos, just check to see if they have a large slider on the middle of the bottom between the wheels, only finding three rail ho locos in the uk is very difficult. Have a great week Harry

Some top quality tat in that lot sorry to say we don’t have anything NEARLY as impressive as that even the model railway shows the stockists just don’t want to do the logistics and or getting stock. Do you realise we have not. Had a container from woodland scenics or Hornby arrive on our shores. True story so we just buy from the UK and the US with some astonishing freight upto and including 6 OO scale figures what about 15grams taking up the space of mailing what 6 pen lids. $600 AUD or $300+ POUNDS now come
On that just should not be. Anyway always looking sharp see you in the next one.

@@wellchuffedrailways sure do Auscision make the best in Australian locos and rolling stock not to mention look at the googs review a solid 5 not many places can hold that kind of torch. and we have a very vibrant community in Australia if you RUclips search Will James railway Australia he’s a chap that goes to all the shows here and gives you the updates. My home state of South Australia just had their annual railway show. I was not in attendance, but my brother and father were there representing my hometown with the Maree layout. ( I currently live in QUEENSLAND that’s another state ) You may not see much footage of it but if you actually google it, it’s pretty spectacular but n gauge OO HO Z large scale they’re all there so that’s a good little thing so active community but we’re a huge country with not much in between and it’s a logistical challenge getting anywhere. We certainly don’t have a rail network like you have where we can just jump on trains and travel everywhere, I mean, let us be fair for me to drive down and say my family it is a 2983 km Drive OR 3 hours on the plane but I still need a factor another 10 hours of driving in between from airport to get there anyway, all good great content keep it up you guys

@@wellchuffedrailways LOL don’t worry about that we have a train for that. LOL actually we have a few and for many years different states used different gauges but the most iconic of all train journeys in Australia is the
Indian pacific East to West Sydney to Perth And the Ghan Adelaide to Darwin or South to North. They are EPIC journeys must do but for some fun the valley rattler in Queensland is one close to me that is a hoot to go on a chuff on but in South Australia. Where I grew up a special heritage line is the Pichi Richi railway and if you can score it take a ride on the Coffepot one of the greatest trains in the world. A quick googs or YT will deliver the results. But yes it’s all good the Indian pacific actually passes a stretch on the Nullarbor where it is the single straightest peice of train line in the world at 478 Kilometers or 297Miles so that really gives a you a sense of the scale. 5 hours and you have not even gone around a bend remeber that’s the entire width of the UK and that’s only one small section the total trip is 4352kilometers.
Stay safe and see you in next weeks cracking video.
