- In this episode, we applied limewash onto our living room wall and it has come up perfectly subtle- exactly what we had envisioned.
We used bauwerk colour limewash and their special bauwerk limewash brush!
If you love texture, this one's for you! Can't stop staring at this wall!

Thank you. I was sceptical that I could do this and almost opted for wallpaper. But this video is exactly what I needed. Confidence restored. 🙏🏾
Beautiful! Looks like the very expensive subtle cloud wallpaper interior designers use.
colour represents ourselves one might think this looks dirty but everyone has choices of colours that someone in the world wouldn’t like! zero sum game
Wow! That look so good. It really changes the character of the room !
Thank you!!
What a stunning wall it turned into
Looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Lime wash is so in. Can’t wait Till I get my first condo! Thanks for the tutorial it looks great :)
Thank you! :) You will really enjoy it when you do! This is a fun period-- gathering as much inspiration for your future home!
I like the technique. I wish a color that showed more contrast was used instead of the drab gray.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL
Ahh thank you! I appreciate this!
I love this look lovely Could you please link the colour and everything I would need to do my wall. Thank you
Reminds me of the sponge painting that was big like 20 years ago
that was clean af
I love the outcome! Is this color more of a grey or beige?
Great job! This looks beautiful!
love it. We will apply this to our next project in condo
which color limewash paint did you use? : ) thanks!
Heya! This is 'smokebush' by bauwerk colour :)
Sekarang cari kapur siri yang agak sulit
🥰👌🏻🤗 so beautiful 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! I would limewash the entire house if I could!
I'm obsessed!!!
Same!!!
I love this! Would you say it has more of a grey or beige undertone?
I'd say it's a combination of both
Did thr colour change after 2 months. At first it looked beige buy 3 months later it looks grey
Ahh, good question! The colour did not change. 2 months later is how it looks when dry.
Looks great! Considering this or similar with our new build.
Yes! Do it! I'd do all the walls in our house if I could!
same!
what kind of primer paint did you use? how about na coverage area of 1 gallon of lime wash?
We used Dulux Acrylic Dealer Undercoat to prime. With the limewash, we used about a third of a gallon to apply 2 coats to a 5m x 2.5m wall
I live in Pakistan lime wash paint is not available here. How can i make lime wash paint
Very 😻😻beautiful !
What color is it? Is it "retreat"?
Thank you so much!! Colour is "smokebush" 😊
Can you please tell me which colors you been using for it
Thank you
The colour is 'Smokebush' ☺️
soooo beautiful
Thank you! 😊
Oh pls tell me what song plays @6:09, will ya? the link you added to description is not for the song or the band but it leads to a general website.
The song is I'm Dreaming of You by Candelion 😊
Thanks so much@@rheacipriano
So you mixed the lime wash with water to desired consistency, then used the water to paint on the walls? Going to be doing this soon & don’t know if should use water from the paint or the paint itself… if that makes sense…
This limewash came in ready to go- we didn't have to add water to it. The sediment sinks to the bottom and so it's recommended to regularly stir to mix 😊
Turned really really nice!! Quick question, for the undercoat, did you guys choose any specific color or just white? Thanks!
Undercoat is just plain white😊
Thanks! Maybe was the paint but I couldn't get that finish with PORTOLA brand paint :( Thanks agin for your respond!
I was looking for thisss
Thanks! That’s what I was looking for!
Hope it helped!
It looks amazing!
QQ! Were your walls textured before hand? Here in the USA we have drywall walls and are textured. Do we need to skim coat then or something before hand?
Thank you so much!
Our walls were smooth to begin with. When I was doing my research, I came across something that mentioned skim coating first before limewashing textured walls for a smoother surface. On the other hand, I also saw an example of limewash directly applied on textured walls. I don't have experience in either but I hear both can be time consuming. The latter moreso because you'd have to work the limewash into the crevices which also means you'll likely use more product. Regardless, they say it's all worth it! =)
Did you use to layers of the paint that were the same strength? Or one at a higher opacity and one slightly lower
Second layer is the same strength as the first. More layers make for less texture (more flat)
hi! how long did you let the first coat of limewash dry before applying the second coat?
Heya! Took only 2 hours as per bauwerk recommendations! I say, follow the manufacturer's advice to get an awesome finish!
@@rheacipriano thank you so much!
Love it ❤
Sir first one coat primer , next two coat paint...ok.,?
Nice work
What finish was the base layer of paint? Egshel or flat?
Original wall paint colour was 'Mount Buller' and the primer is just 'White'.
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You guys are so inspiring! I'm actually convinced now to do lime wash on my wall
I like just one coat looked better to me
would you see brush strokes with this method?
Definitely will! It's what gives it the textured look which also depends on the technique you use. Here we did the 'cloud' method. I've seen it done using vertical or horizontal brush strokes only, too
Looks so amazing!!! Can it be done over a textured wall??
Thank youuu! Not sure, sorry. Haven't tried it on textured walls
Itu cat nya emang kusus apa semua jenis cat dinding?
Better going to a paint shop than hardware
Definitely and more options!
100% hardware only focus on retail as a paint store has trade and industrial paint.
Hi @rheacipriano! Just curious what the paint color is that was on the walls before you started. I’m about to paint my room and love the color you started with before you primed it. I’m considering doing only one wall in the lime wash so I’m looking for a nice beige/gray color for the rest of the walls. Please share what the color is if you could!! Thanks!!
@@AlexRocks925 ah good choice, such a nice colour and it changes depending on how the light hits. It's Dulux- Mount Buller
@@rheacipriano thanks for the info! Do you know if this paint is sold in the US anywhere or could be shipped?
What’s the exact colour called?
Colour is called "smokebush"
I feel like there was too much thought that went into the brush strokes. The tonality needs to be tighter, less blotchy. Overall I would definitely love to do this.
I disagree. I like her technique better than most online. She captured a very aged look. I’m over the moon with the end result she achieved. To each his own
how long did you wait in between coats to paint?
Waited two hours in between coats as per bauwerk
Depending on paint it can take between 2-6h
How much paint did it take for the one wall? Did you get the 1 liter or 5?
Purchased a 4L and used about a third- around 1.5L
Where did you buy the lime wash paint?
Limewash is from bauwerkcolour.com
I believe they ship to countries outside of Australia 🙂
You don't show how it goes from brush strokes to the more blended look. Is there another step that's not shown?
Hey, it's just two layers using the brush each time. More layers will have a flatter, smoother appearance.
It might look better in real life, for me in this video it just looks like a dirty wall, so i really dont know what to think of it.
😂 😆
😂 I'd say, you're probably not a fan haha
I was thinking it was the equivalent of buying distressed jeans 😅 like isn’t that what eventually happen to a wall in a old house but great execution none the less
Haha spot on, that's a good analogy! Hadn't thought that before about this wall! We definitely love an old, worn, distressed look!
@@rheaciprianoit’s gorgeous.
Drama is nice, but it also needs BALANCE. OOPS!
roller much better…..
brush is need to achieve the limewash texture
Dirty walls look lol 😂
Hahaha exactly!
