I have had so many similar situations and I now almost aways act on them , because I cannot bare the regret if I don,t. I and I have had many difficult situations in life and can get triggered if I am really angry at seeing something abusive I let my anger direct me but mindfulness has helped me to channel it a lot, so thank you to Rupert and all the teachers for that, but because there is a victim in these outrage provoking situations, convention does not matter as much as helping them.I think you can knock on the window you can express what you feel about what you see just don,t be crazy about it.

This video explores the ways to relate in a situation which is not congruent with your experience of who you are. Rupert gives us the choices we are faced with , on the relative level of body/mind. Very clear words.

"For yogis who have gained realization in total freedom without any reference point the conduct is unpredictable and they experience sensory appearance in a naturally setteled ordinary state, with your conduct unpredictable you make the final leap into the awareness without slightest basis to determine what is spiritual or not, so this bare state without any reference point is beyond the cage of philosophy, whether eating, moving around, lying down or sitting day and night you rest in infinite awareness so that you experience the true nature of phenomena as there Equalness" ___ The descisive experience part 3.Longchenpa.

A very sensible anecdote. Don't you just love it when theory (dogma) comes together with real world practicality ?

Remember "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." - Luke 23:34 - and take action if appropriated or surrender to what it is. Love

I was wondering what would be my reaction to the situation of the baby in the foggy car and It came to me to go and ask any kind of question to the woman so she has to roll down the window and let some fresh air in and maybe after that ask her about the baby and joke is hard to see it because of the smoke.
In any case, I found interesting that this kind of "creative" reaction only popped out in my head after "seeing quite clearly", thanks to Rupert's explanation, that just going there to yell to the woman wouldn't bring peace and clarity to the situation or any of the members of it.

Reverend Eslam , maybe now it's clear to say that Lord Jesus had the authority to do that, but is it that easy to know that without the perspective of time ? and is it legitimate for oneself to allow him/herself the authority to chastise because he/she thinks knows better ? I always thought that is a very dangerous attitude, and it's important to be humble enough to admit that maybe our action can make things worse and look for a prudent action that arises from peace and understanding, rather than a rage feeling or a feeling of authority to admonish.

Ok, I think I understand your point, and there's probably room for us to discuss it but I think we're losing the point of the topic that brought us to this video, non-duality.
For me the interesting point that Mr Spira is making with the situation of the foggy car is that if, when seeing the situation, we just take action from our rage or highly emotional feelings, we are acting from our illusory separated self, whereas if we don't get lost in that kind of REACTION, we allow some space for an ACTION from our real self, which is probably going to lead to a more peaceful and happy result.

      Interesting question Reverend Eslam !
First admitting my still incomplete understanding of non-duality, I would tentatively reply you in 3 different ways, progressively closer to purer non-duality:
If "right" action is executed by fear of being judged or by just blindly following a judge's "laws", it ceases being right action. So there's no real need for a judge
Right perception (without illusion) leads to right action, so focus shouldn't be on judging but on understanding and clearing the perception from illusions.
A judge implies a judged one, then duality starts !

      Reverend Eslam very interesting !
Can I ask you what is your religion ? I'm not used to hear about religions that accept that there's is no duality between God and the real self.
I'd like to ask you too what do you understand by "surrender of what we think of as self to the Infinite". How does that translate in practical terms ?

      @christianteijon7838 10 лет назад

This doesn't look like "official teachings of the Roman Catholic Church".
I'm sorry, I'm not really interested, in any case, let's both keep our research with open minds and hearts and one day we will probably understand each other.
Funny, I've just noticed the title of the video and thought that maybe we became an example of it. I hope it was a good example and we did well relating to each other's ignorance!
      Good luck

Let your body-mind be a vessel of love,
An instrument of understanding, guided from above.
Let it be a conduit of wisdom and grace,
A source of light that shines on every face.
Allow yourself to be used in every moment,
Let love and understanding flow like a current.
Be open to whatever way is right for you,
And let it guide you in all that you do.
In each moment, let your body-mind be free,
To express the love and truth that is meant to be.
Let it be a channel for the divine,
A way for love to be shared, for it to shine.
No need to strive, just be in this moment now,
And let your body-mind show you how
To let love and understanding flow,
And guide you on the path you go.
So let each breath be a reminder of this truth,
That you are love, and that love is you.
Let your body-mind be a vessel of this love,
And watch as it fills the world with light from above.

When Rupert was looking into the eyes of that mother he had no judgement, in that moment, in time, thus, she will judge herself.

By reacting and acting to the mother and baby in the closed car, our intervention assumes some sort of responsibility for the situation, which we cannot possibly follow through. The mother and other parents and relatives are the ones responsible, not us. Smoking in the car may well be the least of their worries. Dad might be off robbing a bank and this is the getaway car, who knows. I grew up in a household where both my wartime parents smoked happily, even in our small VW beetle and everybody pretty much unaware of effects. Everybody simply smoked, cigarettes, pipes, cigars and god forbid, hooch!

Here I strongly disagree with the advice that those who 'act' in ways we disagree, do not have the fortune of having an 'understanding' of what we know. I think it really pulls someone away from accepting that everyone plays a role, pleasant and unpleasant in how life unfolds across time. Again, sometimes Rupert Spira does not seem to connect humility, compassion nor benevolence, which leads the sort of folks who lack any directive for themselves down a path of self righteousness.

What do you do with Sociopaths, people who do not have any Conscious?! Do you know that in life are 2 types of People (humanoids): 1) humans and 2) Sociopaths (non-humans).
