I think I’d pick either the inktense or neocolor ii if you need to reduce load. I’d leave the water soluble markers and pencils behind, and pick just 2 graphite pencils, 2 line art pens and take the big blue Molotov. I like to take a sketchbook and some loose papers on a clip board rather than 4 sketchbooks. Cool pencil roll. It’s nice to see “me-made” art tools. Sometimes I feel like everyone on RUclips has a Sendak roll. Good luck. It’s good to find a group of like minded people to connect with. Hope you have fun.
Hope you had a good time. I meet up with USK groups whenever I travel, and found the filks to be very welcoming and friendly. I dont usually know anyone there...but sketching and discussing sketches and art suppkies at the end of the session is a good way to break the ice. Good set of materials...but my guess is that you overpacked. Time flies when you go urban sketching, so less is more for a session on the go.
I hope you have a great time! I’m definitely an introvert and would be very nervous as well. Hopefully your nerves ease as soon as you get there and you’ll love it, the ‘before’ is always the worst 😅. Can’t believe how much you can put in the Peg & Awl case. Enjoyed seeing all your cases and supplies for the day. The tool roll bag is LOVELY!! Have fun!!!
@@FaithAnnNB thanks so much! I ended up being nervous for the first 30 minutes but then once I got a position and started drawing, I was fine. Bit nervous sharing my work at the end - everyone did just the one piece while I did MANY! 😆 But it was a fun experience. 😍

I snap all my supplies to make them lighter to pack, I multi day hike weight is an issue, have a 10 tin of neocolor 2s that has a quarter of my 40 set in. Better to use them in bits than leave them at home pristine.
Agree completely, which is why my neocolors and inktense have been snapped. I've even sawn down pencils too for another kit! 🤣 Lighten the load as much as possible!

Hi Cora! Oh, I absolutely agree that you don't have to have all the things in order to draw outside... I often go out by myself with a limited selection, but this was a full day with others and I wanted to make sure I had plenty as I didn't know what to expect. I have my thoughts on the day / experience / my sketches coming in a video later today!

Yeah.... ! I just went away fo two weeks and brought one 12 x 12 art creations sketch book and a set of micron pens. I stopped on Day 2 and bought a ton of stuff in a French art supply shop but decided not to open the package once it was packed up!!!! I spent the two weeks on the 12 x 12 with the pens. Illustrated the whole trip. Very funny. It was a test. Usually I take 2 paper blocks, and 3 art supplies... for a "normal" journal. Have fun and curious what you will do with what.

I recently found out that the Molotow markers are refillable!
