- For my plein air sketching set up, I've used an A5 kit from Just Go Sketching (formerly Rawlinson End) for quite some time. Nice line of products. I would like to mention that the back of both bags appear to be MOLLE compatible and the straps allow the bag to be strapped to another MOLLE item like a larger pack equipped with MOLLE or a MOLLE belt of some sort. The straps are threaded through alternating loops from one device to the other then snapped.

The back slots are called mollie strips. In the military you can get attachment pouches or you can attach to another back pack

@@CreatingCuteArtMolle ... pronounced Molly. That first bag (green) is a Tactical Admin bag. It's actually made to attach to the front (chest) of the tactical vest worn by soldiers. Ergo that Velcro on the chest of their vests ... They are both military bags (modules)

This is the perfect sized kit. We moved to the Denver area almost 3 years ago - there are so many Colorado RUclipsrs! Haven’t made it to the Botanic Gardens yet- thanks for sharing, Kathy

I agree, the color combo is awesome! I will have to use both over time for a bit before I decide which size I like more. I generally like sketching in A5 more than 5x5, but a 5x5 is easier to get around with, so I can't tell yet!!

That is such a wonderful gift! My next travel kit is definitely going to be that exact one. I've seen it, but wasn't sure if I liked the thought of messy me having my paper and paints so close to my paper, I am such a klutz, but seeing that makes me really want to try that set up anyway!
I really love the A5, and this 5x5 is even easier to hold and work on with one hand! I'm so thrilled with it! 🤗

Oh wow! That was so thoughtful of him to send you the new kit!! I’m sure he got a lot of sales based on your review. I know I ordered the A5 and A6 companions after seeing your two previous videos. I didn’t order the bags as I have a lot of bags already. The companion boards with the magnets and elastic are *perfect*. Mine came with clips, water cups, pencils and magnetic stickers. Anyway, absolutely love the boards to hold my sketchbook, paint and water. I use the elastic for a brush holder. I was *this* close to placing another order for the A4 size, but I wasn’t fast enough and the price increased (as I’m sure his material and shipping prices have gone up also). The handmade sketchbooks are very tempting!! ❤

Very cool pictures at the end! This kit was so cute and the watercolors looked like they could be quite nice as well. I'm kind of in love with that square watercolor sketchbook. Saunders Waterford paper is quite deluxe. Love the light blue with the camel color - never would have thought of that combination myself. Fun video, Maggie!
The pictures are all from the Denver Botanical Gardens! Have you ever gone there/painted there? I took the reference photos, but would love to go back with a portable stool and just plein air paint there!!

Saunders Waterford is not by Canson. It's a really fantastic UK made paper that is up there with Arches.

You can use tone paper for a swatch area of the paints you want in the tiny palette..i so wish i could order these art supplies maybe at xmas time..really enjoyed your unboxing...time to save up i like both sizes..i really liked his homemade sketchbook and the color combinationof the sketchbook and elastic really nice and the size would be perfect fit for a backback or purse well done on his thought to add seal also to water jar..... .i did alot of ohhhhhs..mikelle art mom👩🎨🎨✍

I got a thick Talens 5x5 in here, but it was about as big as it would get in this particular size! He does custom orders, so you can send the specs for your preferred sketchbook size and he can accommodate that!
Absolutely love this! I may need to treat myself to one. Also please make a video soon of you going out to use it and paint in the park or somewhere inspiring.

The back of the bag that has all those straps, I put a clear flat flask of water there.
That's a good idea! I genuinely didn't have any ideas for them other than to make them a shoulder strap!

I've been watching a lot of these, and I still don't understand what all the Velcro is for on the front of the bag and how do you use all those straps on the back?
I actually attached all those straps together to make handles for the whole bag!
