- Hi there friends, in today’s video I’m going to show you how we completely transformed our old crabgrass front lawn that had no curb appeal into a beautiful oasis with colorful succulents that are flowering a unique rock river with Oro Verde rocks and boulders, and paver walkways. This project was a labor of love and require multiple steps to get to the beautiful landscaping it is now. We started by marking out all the irrigation line and the grass line so we knew where everything was before digging. Then we went to @HomeDepot to rent a tiller to remove as much grass as possible then we removed the last bit by hand with a shovels. What's all the grass was removed and we were down to a dirt surface we marked out where we wanted to have paver walkway and went to our local Rock yard to pick up the amount of papers. We thought we needed to create the project. We lay down a weed barrier and covered it with decompose granite before putting our paver walkway's together. Once everything was laid out, we dug out a section for a rock river bed and laid double weed barrier over the top to ensure that weeds would not grow back and then filled it in with miscellaneous rocks that we had from our backyard. I scoured offer up Facebook marketplace and any other places that I could find free material and found a couple cool people that were getting rid of their rock landscaping it was a little bit of labor, but totally worth it all in all of the entire rock river pretty much got filled in with free rock that I found on @Offerup once our rock landscaping was pretty much complete. We started to add some of the plants I shopped our backyard for some overgrown agave that I knew would look really cool in the front yard. Once the agaves were planted, we added a few large boulders as statement pieces that we got from our friends minimal millennials on Instagram. I have a big shout out to give to my amazing husband, who knew we needed a lot of plants and pitched in to provide all the plants we needed for the landscaping project, and when I say all the plants I mean so many plants… I found it easier to use a auger bit attached to my drill to dig out the holes and make the process a lot quicker. Once all of our larger succulents were planted, we filled in with smaller succulents and a flat of low growing succulent to help bring everything together. I absolutely love our front yard. I hang out in the front yard more than I ever have and I feel like the mayor of my Block whenever our neighbors stop by to tell us how amazing the front yard transformation is. I'm stoked to be able to say we did this project within budget and we were able to find so many materials for free on the Internet.

I edited this video myself (super proud) with Adobe Premiere Pro. I’ve learned everything thus far about editing via RUclips tutorials, and a little trial and error along the way. This was the first video I figured out how to add captions, which I’ll be doing moving forward. I also learned how to blur in this video

Wowza! Look at all that curb appeal! It is far more beautiful than the sad old lawn. Do you get any government incentives for putting in drought resistant landscaping?
I think she said on Instagram that there was some kind of incentive program she participated in. 👍🏻
I applied for the turf re-placement program. However, I was a little antsy and pulled the trigger before finding out if I was excepted or not.
