please read the description. this is a "sequel" to my video from June 2020, "Please insert a disc". ruclips.net/video/KqABY2le0dM/видео.html this is not my next mega-effort project (although it did take a significant amount of effort). just something to tide you over until then!
Damn, this reminds me just how much personality the 3DS had. The small touch of having a jingle and an animated logo did a lot to give the system tons of charm.
I think it’s still a great system! Too bad its 3rd party support suffered with the rise of freemium smartphone games! Freemium smartphone games aren’t even as fun as Tiger handhelds!
Yeah, I've always wondered why they never put anything in that pitch black loading screen all Switch games have. They could put something like a cool banner of some type
I'll die on this hill: The Switch doesn't have HALF of the personality the 3DS and the Wii U had. All three systems are wonderful but the Switch is definitely lacking the "Nintendo Magic". 3DS and Wii U had all these little nicknacks you could toy around in between play sessions, they were almost like fidget apps.
The home screens of the wii, 3ds, and even the wii u felt like home. The switch home screen just feels like a menu to flick through. It usually seems best to leave games on standby
might be the old menu music?? maybe all the cute little features they used to include. the switch seems like it's trying to imitate other consoles sleek and minimalistic designs but kinda loses that charm they used to have
It always disappoints me when I pop in a cartridge and the banner is literally just a png of the logo. I’m not talking about when they have a little animation for the banner, so many of the later games are literally just a static image lol. It’s definitely a blessing when you get one of those cute spinning 3d models haha
@@iuploadsometimes5028 Hey kids, it's Quandale Dingle here. My next door neighbor Pingie MC Dingie lit my house on fire tomorrow evening. I broke into his house next Tuesday. He ate a large soda. Spit it all over my bedroom laundry. I'm sending 100 cheese biscuits to the next person who eats a burger King Whooper at 3am in the morning. Meet me at the parking lot 7am yesterday night with a bucket and a cow
@@lennygirlthetruesavvysavag2410 daddy, i really really miss you. mommy said you went out for milk. i apologize for you abusing me, mommy changed my name to tickletipson
4:48 brings back amazing memories that will always stick with me forever. The feeling of opening my 3ds on a summer day, hearing the mh4u jingle and joining an online session to progress in the dundorma hub is a feeling that I’ll never experience again
I have a wii, sometimes I pass though the message log only to see the games I played, the the objectives I got and remember when I first got it in 2010 (sadly I got internet on it in 2016)
I think the 3DS is still quite minimalist, just with a bit more character and charm to it whilst still looking clean overall. Switch feels very utilitarian in comparison, aside from the little beeps when you open settings and the cute chirp when you open your friends list
@@kujakubes241 Nintendo consoles aren't easy to mod anymore, not at all. That also has the risk of permanently bricking your Switch, and it's even harder to mod than up to date 3ds firmware... also, if Nintendo wants to make it as hard as possible, they should at least try to make the base system... actually good
Most modern consoles don’t have a 10th of the personality that the 3DS had menu wise. It was such a magical experience opening up your 3DS and looking at all the weird quirky things that you could do even without games. Now take a look at the Switch. Don’t get me wrong, I like the Switch but come on, it’s lost some of the “ Nintendo magic.” There’s no street pass (or basically anything useful you can do with Miis unless you happen to have Miitopia), no AR Games, no Face Raiders, no badge arcade, no play coins, etc. That’s why I think we need to give the 3DS more credit on certain things.
i loved streetpass. it was so cool to see all the people youve met nearby.. i miss bringing my 3ds with me on trips and seeing that i met some people.. especially back during the hayday of the 3ds
@@AVI-lh6rm same, i was obsessed with that one game where you could raise plants and i have a ton of fond memories of arranging my garden and convincing my friends to buy it so we could breed our flowers 😔 i wish the switch had SOME kind of passerby feature since a big selling point early on was that it was portable
speaking of miitopia, I'm so glad they brought it onto the switch, enhancing its already great graphics and adding probably one of the most advanced character editors nintendo has ever produced. Maybe there is some magic left in the switch, after all.
Nintendo as a whole started to feel overly corporate after the Switch. I know it is a corporation after all, but before the Switch there was this oddly positive, almost magical vibe. Prices were more decent, hardware was built of vibranium, remakes had effort, and save for the Wii U there was a bunch of cool games every year. The whole thing died out and I moved onto PS4 and then PC, but I never forget the good times.
@@brettonwatts IDK about that. I am not someone that grew up with Nintendo and the other gaming companies and it is only over the past few years over the internet that I am learning how magical gaming used to be. With zero nostalgia I can safely say that something has changed within Nintendo and it has been there for a while. Even in other companies the magic has kinda been lost, like just compare the PS1 and PS2 boot ups against the PS4 and PS5 boot ups.
It’s amazing that the launch was so ROUGH and there weren’t many games for the longest. People thought the system wasn’t going to make it. The library and the legacy it ended with is just incredible. I still play mine.

I hope Nintendo brings this level of charm back into a console one day, especially loved how all the minor things like settings and the activity log had music. (Also I must say you included some really obscure ones here, was not expecting Fairune at all.)
Note how the older games tended to have the least static screens. The writing was sadly on the wall for new 3DS entries, but I still buy games for it even on the eShop.
@@bobertert hummmm that an interesting thing but didn’t that would be problematic if I’ve decided to pass on a new Nintendo 3DS? And it sound complicate I will do it when I would get a new Nintendo 3DS (yes, I’m a collector)
@@lourila it runs on all 3DS models and 2DS and takes a computer sd card and about 30 minutes of time plus time to download roms and dump games but it’s pretty simple and totally worth it
there was just a whole different level of love and detail to this console. You could have a blast with your 3DS before putting any cartridge in. And that you could make those little intro things spin by blowing into the mic. So cool
i love my switch but it feels less colorful/fun than the 3ds. it’s less random and less goofy. it’s more serious and corporate. i understand why they did it. they got more sales that way but nintendo always stood out that way
But the wii had this too, When you would open a game it would go full-screen and show the little animation with start and Wii menu buttons on the bottom. The wii was one of the highest selling consoles of all time.
I think they wanted to make the Wii seem more like a all in one device and make it more TV ish because everyone understands a TV, (with things like “Wii remotes” and “Wii channels and the interface is easy to understand”They did the same thing with Nintendo Entertainment System they wanted to make it seem more like a VCR player. The word Wii is also easy to pronounce in every accent and language, i think they wanted to go the same route with the Wii U but also focus more on making it a fun and cool experience with things like the Wii U gamepad but i think the lack off good marketing didn’t help the Wii U at all and the rise of smartphones and social media also didn’t help either (I’ve personally spoken to people that think that the Wii U was just an over priced controller for the Nintendo Wii) these I think are the biggest reasons that the Nintendo Wii U failed. I think that they want the switch to look like something unique and very clean and tablet ish thats the reason why it looks so “corporate“ and “sterile” it’s still Nintendo ish but not. I hope that they will bring back the Nintendo magic with their next big platform.
For me it's the death of miiverse. Every game having it's own community posting comments and drawings made everything feel so alive and active. You weren't alone even in single player games. The Switch feels lifeless and empty in comparison, and I'm not afraid to say it.
Nintendo's whimsicality was sharpened by the corporate world. The switch feels powerful, but rigid and unflexible sometimes(ESPECIALLY THE STAND.) The Wii, 3DS, and Wii U remind me of a time where life was much simpler. I wish that they could combine the whimsicality of the 2010's with the power that the switch has. The switch was no wii for its time, don't get me wrong, it's pretty good but it feels too dry.
Not gonna lie, 1:59 always gets me every time. Tomodachi Life may have been such a random goofy out of no where game but by God it has some of the best most simple little themes ever made, not too mention a really good soundtrack as well.
@@steph8594 I love it so much that I made a bunch of songs on it. One is just random gibberish and another is just three words being repeated. I managed to get £10,000 into my Tomodachi Life just so I could take my Mii to space (because I STILL don't know what his favourite food is!).
i still play tomodachi life to this day. it’s pretty much the only game that keeps me playing the 3DS (other than acnl lol) it always makes me so happy to hear the music when i put the cartridge in 🥹🥰
My 3ds was my most prized posession when i moved back to america, i had a lot of the indie games on it and would constantly have it by my side when going back to visist family in croatia. Comparing it to my switch the 3ds felt like it had its own corner of the internet with all of these games and video content exclusive to it. Crazy that its been 10 years. Reminds me of a more playfully innocent time in my life.

@@devclark6161 yeah I remember seeing the DS commercial and I told mom "hey I want that!" But then the 3DS commercial came on and then I said "Get that one instead, it has the circle thing!"
I mean, The Switch was the last console with many elements designed by him so I would blame it more on the fact the Switch was kind of rushed out to save Nintendo from its fledgling WiiU-era. Judging by the fact The Switch will probably have the longest-lasting generation of any PS4-era console, I wouldn't doubt we'll see the return of eshop themes and cute easter eggs next time around.
GOD created us to be with Him. (Genesis 1-2) OUR sins separate us from God. (Genesis 3) SINS cannot be removed by good deeds. (Genesis 4-Malachi 4) PAYING the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again. (Matthew-Luke) EVERYONE who trusts in Him alone has eternal life. (John) LIFE with Jesus starts now and lasts forever! (Acts-Revelation) Now what's stopping you from reading the Bible and learning who God is???
Every time i got a new game i was always so ecstatic to see what the animated logo thingie looked like. I'm glad this video exists, and even more now that the eShop is closed.
I completely skipped the 3DS/Wii U generation and went from the DSi to the Switch (massive upgrade). It's so weird watching nostalgic stuff that you didn't experience.
You skip 3ds ? Dam. There was good game on it and honestly that was one of the best console of Nintendo,. Street Pass was the most interesting feature Switch completely skip it
@@snow7107 i still love the cursed memory book game it was a full AR game with each page come to life and the game even shoots a photo from your face and seals eyes and mouth x.x :x for a thirdwall breaking horror experience! the switch has so much less love in the UI and menu it feels uncomplete.
no but the 3ds was the most nostalgic my last time playing it was in like late 2017 and I never got to play the Wii but my sister played since I was just a toddler back then
The spinning model on the top screen of the home menu when hovering over an application is something i've only seen implemented (in terms of videogame consoles) on the 3DS. Accompanied with the jingle, this instantly gives you a vague idea of what the game will be like. A fantastic concept that should be replicated, instead of apps being represented as thumbnail pngs. p.s. blow on the mic to make it spin faster
Technically it’s carried over from the Wii that had little splash screens for each game before you booted them. This one just used 3D models instead (probably to show off the 3D).
The 3DS is still such a big part of my childhood. I've been wanting to replay those quirky titles for years. Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kirby Planet Robobot, Pokemon X, Pokemon Omega Ruby, Pokemon Sun, and New Super Mario Bros 2 were some of my most played games. It sucks I lost my 3DS a few years ago, but I've still managed to preserve some of my old cartridges.
@@TheDJTailsN1 I got a used 3DS for Christmas last year. It was also modded when I got it, so I just had to update the bootstrapper to its latest version, which was pretty easy with the online 3DS hack guide.
The most beautiful and imaginative Home Screen by far in Nintendo’s library of consoles. You can even add stickers and custom backgrounds! Truly Nintendo’s best handheld system :) thx for all the great memories..
Exactly. Gen 5 will always be my favorite, however in my opinion XY/ORAS had the best look of any of the 3D Pokemon games. The colors were vibrant and the semi chibi characters were perfect. It's really a shame that we never got to see Z.
I swear to god I saw cubic ninja at a dollar store the day before it turned out it was the mod key. I thought about asking my mom for it but figured if it was at a dollar store it probably wasn't worth owning
The 3DS was a fun little console, shame that bad marketing almost killed it. Glad to see it recover from it though, unlike the Wii U, which I still believe would have sold much better if it had a different name.
@@Kyara7 Also, the most glaring issue: the freaking Gamepad. That thing added so little to gameplay, and increased production costs so much that it's really baffling they never tried releasing a Wii U version without it. The simple fact you essentially lose your console if it ever breaks, was enough of a redflag.
@@victorhugocosta1127 I think the Gamepad was a cool idea but it wasn't marketed properly and it felt like developers had no idea what to do with the thing and relegated it to a map or smth
I started to gain interest for the 3DS around the "end" of it's life span(as the online features were being phased out), sadly, but it was still awesome and I love it so much.
I just started getting hardcore back into my 3ds. Im bored with the switch and the big PS5 games are coming out at the end of February and some of march. The price of some 3DS games are insanely high, but i dont wanna hack my 3ds and steal them all. I enjoy the ebay auction battles and add to my library. The 3D is also awesome, i love the effect.
@@dustygearhead I homebrewed my 3ds the other month there’s so much more you can do on it besides pirating games, though Nintendo isn’t selling them anymore so I have no issue with it.
@@trashbot5675 exactly, i wouldn't call piracy bad if the copyright holders doesn't even make money from it anymore. so whether you pirate it or buy it online, no money goes to the developer.

Basically, it was a wireless hotspot that also let you watch certain special videos and do location-specific stuff (e.g. trivia). More importantly, later on, it gave you the StreetPass tags of the last 6 people to visit. This was a godsend for an introverted person in a small town, but unfortunately, this is now defunct.
@@petermarsella6537 Nintendo zone was hiding when the 3ds first started selling and it would only show on the home menu if you were actually near a Nintendo zone, after awhile they just made the icon accessible from the home menu anytime
Basically, if you took your 3DS to like a Starbucks, you could get exclusive trailers, demos, Nintendo Video videos, and I think there were a few Pokemon distributions.
I love how nostalgic this video makes me seeing games I had and games I saw, probably one of my favorite video game system the 3DS will live on as the king of personality because of these bit sized animations.
I miss the 3DS so much. I loved Mario Kart 7. I LOVED Super Mario 3D Land so so much. Beating NSMB2 felt so amazing, especially in co-op. The Mario Parties were surprisingly fun despite everybody else saying they weren't. The badge arcade was an amazing place to customize my home screen. Swapnote/doodle didn't give me friends but I used those doodles to just have a good time lmao Tomodachi Life and Miitopia always gave me a good day. Minecraft 3DS Edition gave me what I've always wanted. And oh my god, playing Super Mario Bros. Deluxe on the 3DS was soo amazing. I wish we could get something like it again, I miss those days.
I never could afford expensive games so most of my memories of the 3ds is playing demos over and over and mutant mudds (and failing all the levels horribly) , animal crossing, and Kirby's blowout blast.
@@newtlyme7820 same, I played that demo you played over and over. Same with some Final Fantasy demo where I would play it to glide and beat the boss over and over. Good times.

I miss the charming UI of old Nintendo systems. The switch just feels so... sterile. Yes it works and is clean, but THIS is what I remember Nintendo as

@@jadedfire4351 Yeah it's a grand Piano in IV. One of V's trailers has it as a church bell. SMT 1's title screen has it sound like an organ. SMT 2's title screen sounds just like it's a synth I think, unless that's also supposed to be a bell.
After nintendo decided to go for an older audience for the switch It made me realize what made nintendo so enjoyable Just these little touches of fanfare made a game from good to great and adds to the nostalgia
3DS is easily the best console Nintendo ever made. Switch is a good progression from it, however the 3DS stereostopic 3D, 3D cameras, 3D photos and videos, personality, so many constantly supported apps, even the game roster itself was much more innovative and revolutionary than Switch's endless remakes. Plus the touch screen. It had everything. Switch does well at uniting most things under 1 console, and is definitely a great console. But the 3DS was the peak
I STILL play with my 3ds. It's such a great console. Highly underappreciated in 2021. Such great titles that still are awesome. Kid Icarus Uprising is STILL amazing to this day.
Man, i had a copy of Uprising back in 2012, it was the game i so desperately wanted to play when it was coming out. Once i finally did that was the only game i played on my 3ds until i beat it and broke the charging port. Now 9 years later, i have my 3ds back in working order, and i play it often with a more expanded library, but i for the life of me cannot find my Uprising copy, and it breaks me to my very soul. I JUST bought Kid Icarus last week and I went to play it for the first time yesterday and apparently I’ve lost it, it was going to be next on my list but I guess I’ll have to finish Monster Hunter Stories 2 then look for it again…
The 3DS just hits different. Undoubtedly one of my favorite systems of all time, nothing comes close to the amount of personality this little handheld held in store
Ah, same! Although I didn’t play it to death for long, as I was fairly young and my interests changed to whatever other thing I had goin on fairly fast.
The fact that the 3DS lived through the end of the Wii, the entirety of the Wii U, and the beginning of the Switch is just so cool to me. These remind me a lot of the Wii channel animations.

Hearing the Pokémon sun sound takes me back to the launch day when I bought it. I was just starting middle school at the time and after school my mom took me to the game store and I was able to find ONE left on the shelf. I was precisely playing some 3DS when this video came recommended. I have to say, awesome job and thank you for all the hard work you put into it, I'm sorry it came out so expensive, but the final product is great. I already feel extremely nostalgic for this console, which was more than just great games but a great user experience. Younger gamers will forever regret missing out on all the wonderful streetpass experience. Not even just for the cute minigames you could play by default within the Streetpass Mii Plaza, you truly felt like part of a community, going everyday to school and making contact with a bunch of anonymous people in your area, collecting new countries or states, sending them messages and looking at what everyone was playing, from the big releases to the small eshop games. But outside the Mii Plaza, a ton of games were compatible, and even now it is sad to buy a new game and turn it on just for it to ask you if you want street pass functionality, realizing that you do want to experience what it does, but that it is now mostly pointless to turn on. I consider the 3DS to be my favorite console of all time, not only for the games, but for the features. I love the portability, the clamshell design, the dual screens, the acelerometer, the streetpass and yeah I even enjoy frequently the 3D effect. I like the console so much that to this day, if a game has a version for the 3DS, I want that version, no matter how compromise, I want more excuses to return to that system and those experiences even if they will never be the same. Thank you for the video and I hope everyone can enjoy many more years of 3DS.

I'll die on this hill: The Switch doesn't have HALF of the personality the 3DS and the Wii U had. The home screens of the wii, 3ds, and even the wii u felt like home. The switch home screen just feels like a menu to flick through. It usually seems best to leave games on standby
Okay thanks for sharing

Yeah. Themes and folders are missing.. why? Not to mention miiverse, streetpass, ar games, and more!
It always disappoints me when I pop in a cartridge and the banner is literally just a png of the logo. I’m not talking about when they have a little animation for the banner, so many of the later games are literally just a static image lol. It’s definitely a blessing when you get one of those cute spinning 3d models haha

It’s too bad the Switch went for the minimalistic approach. I would have loved to see something like this being used for the games.
I think the 3DS is still quite minimalist, just with a bit more character and charm to it whilst still looking clean overall.

@@chozogoat maybe we’re just getting older
@@brettonwatts IDK about that. I am not someone that grew up with Nintendo and the other gaming companies and it is only over the past few years over the internet that I am learning how magical gaming used to be. With zero nostalgia I can safely say that something has changed within Nintendo and it has been there for a while. Even in other companies the magic has kinda been lost, like just compare the PS1 and PS2 boot ups against the PS4 and PS5 boot ups.
I miss these little things, its such a shame the switch has nothing like them.
switch is worse than the 3ds moment?
@@coffeebug no, definitely not. Just one place where I wish the switch could have been a bit stronger
I like the 3ds more than the switch imo
I mostly play pokémon stuff
The same thing goes for botw's main menu. It's like Nintendo wanted their console and launch title to just be silence with nothing moving
I know it sucks
It’s amazing that the launch was so ROUGH and there weren’t many games for the longest. People thought the system wasn’t going to make it. The library and the legacy it ended with is just incredible. I still play mine.
After 10 years, I still play mine too
I still play with mine too
Still play mine too. Especially now since I’ve homebrewed it a year ago.

11 years later and I still get a kick out of my 3DS, thank god after all these years it still works like wonders

I Don't know
Where's epic mickey power of illusion?
I hope Nintendo brings this level of charm back into a console one day, especially loved how all the minor things like settings and the activity log had music. (Also I must say you included some really obscure ones here, was not expecting Fairune at all.)
Sooo true
Yea to get some nostalgia of the good ol days we had fun with our 3DS and 2DS
Hopefully... :')
Yeah i wish they bring back the console back... sometime
I didn't have many games, so the beginning apps and badge arcade are the most nostalgic for me.
Note how the older games tended to have the least static screens. The writing was sadly on the wall for new 3DS entries, but I still buy games for it even on the eShop.
It’s like the 3DS getting progressively depressed because Nintendaddy doesn’t love it anymore...

@countryballUA22 I know
i love my switch but it feels less colorful/fun than the 3ds. it’s less random and less goofy. it’s more serious and corporate. i understand why they did it. they got more sales that way but nintendo always stood out that way
But the wii had this too, When you would open a game it would go full-screen and show the little animation with start and Wii menu buttons on the bottom.
@@luigi55125 i feel the same way and hope the next Nintendo console will be more like classic Nintendo.
Nintendo's whimsicality was sharpened by the corporate world. The switch feels powerful, but rigid and unflexible sometimes(ESPECIALLY THE STAND.)
The Wii, 3DS, and Wii U remind me of a time where life was much simpler. I wish that they could combine the whimsicality of the 2010's with the power that the switch has.
The switch was no wii for its time, don't get me wrong, it's pretty good but it feels too dry.
3DS: “you’re a portable console alright just not a super one”
Switch: “oh yeah, what’s the difference?”
3DS: “Presentation”

Not gonna lie, 1:59 always gets me every time. Tomodachi Life may have been such a random goofy out of no where game but by God it has some of the best most simple little themes ever made, not too mention a really good soundtrack as well.
I still boot it up to see my Mii sing random songs and be in love with an other Mii.
Ngl it genuinely is my favourite video game of all time simply bc of the nostalgia
@@steph8594 I love it so much that I made a bunch of songs on it. One is just random gibberish and another is just three words being repeated. I managed to get £10,000 into my Tomodachi Life just so I could take my Mii to space (because I STILL don't know what his favourite food is!).
the island daytime theme literally plays in my head 24/7
i still play tomodachi life to this day. it’s pretty much the only game that keeps me playing the 3DS (other than acnl lol)
it always makes me so happy to hear the music when i put the cartridge in 🥹🥰
Watching this the night before the 3DS' Judgement Day...
I think by the time I'm reading this comment٫ it has already happened...
*IT'S NOT FAIRRR*
My 3ds was my most prized posession when i moved back to america, i had a lot of the indie games on it and would constantly have it by my side when going back to visist family in croatia. Comparing it to my switch the 3ds felt like it had its own corner of the internet with all of these games and video content exclusive to it. Crazy that its been 10 years. Reminds me of a more playfully innocent time in my life.
A Croatian nintendo fan? A rarity to be sure, but a welcome one!
@@ibuj001 I just started living here again for college, and while I have my switch with me, it really doesn’t feel the same as all the great memories i have of playing on my 3ds and making stop motion videos with the camera app during the summer

The fact that Iwata was probably the person who gave the console the personality is crazy, after his passing they just didn't care

The 3DS was a fun little console, shame that bad marketing almost killed it. Glad to see it recover from it though, unlike the Wii U, which I still believe would have sold much better if it had a different name.

Just wanna say, thansk for bringing me that nostalgia, a bit of sadness and happyness can do good things to ourself. So yeah, Congrats for getting throught all of this, and really, thank you for your hard work !

This hurts me. The nostalgia.
I actually teared up at the start. Oh how I wished my 3ds wasn’t broken so I can still play on it. Citra doesn’t even compare to the real experience.

Agreed :(
Absolutely
I still remember playing with my 2ds...
I swear bro good times
0:26 To the lucky people that were part of the ambassador program, you are proud soldiers who risked your wallets to get the best games that were provided by Nintendo before the 3DS got its price reduced and I'm proud of you.
sadly I got mine literally just after the date for the program
I didn’t even know that existed
@@user-ARCON_GRID I as well. Being young as I was I most certainly couldn't buy one. My parents waited until just after the price drop. I still greatly appreciate them for it, but knowing that I barely missed out on something that cool is still a little sad.
Though I am among the few people that I know that still have an original model 3ds, or that got one before the 3dsXL was announced. And that's pretty dang cool I think.
So much nostalgia just hit me
eShop one was oddly painful to hear. Not that there are any bad memories associated with it, but just the fact that those will now only ever be memories
What's worse is it's going to be closed down in March this year

im so glad that as a child, i lived the era when you went out with your 3ds and actually got other streetpass meets, especially on vacations..
was the best console i ever played
Reading the description I wanted to thank you for all the effort you put in this video :)
Even tho the switch is more “in” nowadays nothing will ever top how iconic and one of a kind as the 3ds was and nothing will change that.
I really appreciate this effort in game preservation!
I wish 3DS Capture Cards weren't so hard to come by, any more.

Yes Kid Icarus was just a great game. I bought it cuz it was the dude from Brawl but holy maccaroni this game was great. The weapon crafting and the PvP Multiplayer modes were the icing on the cake too

This is such important archival work that I’m honestly really sad isn’t more publicly available. We have no idea how much Nintendo does themselves because they’re so private.

I loved the little details like the 3D intro banners that the 3DS had. It's sad that the switch lacks these features and feels soulless in comparison.
3:00 grew up with Smash 4, man this takes me back
6:03 I'll always say this because it is never going to change, but people seriously need to acknowledge how great Ace Attorney and Professor Layton is. The two franchises are so interesting and the games have some mind-baffling storylines. The crossover is also a very good one, perfectly demonstrates the core of each franchise but in a simple way for players that are new to each franchise.
YES. I GOT INTO ACE ATTORNEY BECAUSE OF LAYTON AND NOW LOOK AT ME!! those two game series raised me
Professor Layton is one of those series I played over and over when I was younger. I must have gone through Pandora’s Box at least 20 times
Layton was one of my first games on the 3DS, so it has a special place in my heart.
@@MissSignalTheOddishMonarch my first game i ever got on my 3ds was fantasy life (also by level-5) and layton so those games also have special places in my heart
Yeah I especially like the secret codes in the prof. Layton games, where you can use It in the next game.

god the animations and jingles for each Yo-Kai Watch game are the most nostalgic for me, loved every single game.
Ah, the good old days
the best 3ds games period
@@Joereo exactly. I don't think any 3ds game had as much content as Yo kai watch 3
For me, it has to be the all the Yo-Kai Watches, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Miitopia and a bunch of Pokemon games
yo kai watch 3 has a pretty crazy ton of stuff. from story mode to a whole new blasters mode. honestly i really loved the dungeon blasters mix of finding the exit like the binding of isaac with players online. I was able to get one of the physical copies for yokai watch 3 thankfully since downloaing it takes way more space. although its a really hard choice of whether I like the red cat corps / white dog squad/ blasters or the blasters dungeon gamemode. the games just packed with everything
This made me realize how many great games I missed. I gotta go back and play some of these sometime.

The first minute of this video genuinely sent chills down my spine like I can't tell you how long its been since I've even thought about Nintendo Zone
The Kingdom Hearts screen was SUPER NOSTALGIC. I almost cried. When times where much simpler.
Thank you for the video and I hope everyone can enjoy many more years of 3DS.
nice to see a cave story fan
Thank you SO MUCH for making this video
I can't believe how much chills and nostalgia it gave me even if i use my 3DS often too, precious content boi 🙏🙏
