    I first started trying to play the piano back in 1968, and for all these years, I have been a very bad beginner. Earlier this year, my son, who is a musical genius, taught me how to play the main part of Let It Be, and this weekend we were going to work on the intro. A few minutes ago, I found this video, and you have boiled it down into exactly what I need to do to play the song, and after giving your tips a try, for the first time in all these many years, I feel like I can actually play the piano. Thank you so much for this video.

    That's it! Forget all other tutorials or sheet music. And don't forget to watch his INTRO lesson on Let it be! I have some guitar background and want to learn this song on piano. Other tutorials did not sound original. If I will not learn it perfect, this tutorial shows the right direction and makes fun to practice.

    Great video as always… you might want to double check but I believe that the first C of the song is played by Paul with C E G and an extra C at the octave which gives it an extra dimension closer to the actual record

    I see what you mean the F sharp ghost note, this is only in the introduction (see other video) in the version I used at least but anyway it's a matter of interpretation you can pply it wherever you want! :)

  • @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony
    @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony  12 лет назад

    Yes Paul plays another of his clever arrangements here; as in almost all other Beatles songs the guys tended to move the basetrack away from the frequencies occupied by the solos (they almost surely learned this by George Martin as all Beatles arrangements are conceived this way). In this case also Paul goes to a uppper register for the solo. As an example you can start with your thumb on C4 and go up with the triade of the chords with the other fingers and start from there you improvisation.

    Hello, how many C chords are you supposed to play in the transition between the verse and chorus, for instance, is it like two normal ones and then one with a b bass?

  • @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony
    @TheBeatlesVocalHarmony  12 лет назад

    @mfische1 Hi I don't hear this one under the singing but you can do it if you prefer. Just is simpler not to play it when singing.

  • @Mendes7800
    @Mendes7800 8 лет назад

    the beginning of PART 1 a little different from INTRO although they are resembling the introduction of the same song. For example, in INTRO right hand plays 4 notes at the same time (C, E, G, next C) whereas in PART 1 you miss 'next C'.

    This is great, but can you post the sheet music as you have performed Paul's actual version? I ask because I have two books with Let it Be in them, but they do not match what you are playing. You must have a great ear for notes. I always wondered why it didn't sound right when I was playing it. Makes me wonder who transcribed it in the first place. JJ

    One thing though. He’s definitely playing “2nd position” C major at intro (E, G, C) instead of the first position that you’re playing. You can hear the C above middle C clearly.
    Anyone else hear this?

    • @mickn2477
      @mickn2477 4 года назад +1

      Yes, definitely on the original recording. None of the tutorials seem to have this right, and it is such a fundamental part of the sound.

  • @jaerivus
    @jaerivus 2 года назад

    Galeazzo, I have watched dozens of your videos and have been thoroughly impressed by your talents with each and every one, but this is the first video that has left me disappointed.
    Near the end of Let It Be (around 02:58 on at least one version I referenced), when Paul sings "Mother Mary" he flubs and plays a chord unique unto that song, and I was desperately hoping you'd have included it here.
    I will be concluding this post with a request, but I would first like to thank you for all your hard work and selflessness, sharing very faithful and focused Beatles recreations for posterity.
    But if you are reading this, please can you help to identify that "mystery" chord for the nutters like me who feel performing the song wouldn't be the same without it?
    Thanks again.

    in the intro, when you play the octave you play the high and low notes at the same time with the right hand, and then alternatve the higher note with the right hand chord. in the verse. you don't hit both octave notes at the same time, you only hit the lower first, then alternate the higher octave note and the right hand. should i play it like that or just like the introduction? thanks
