It's there, but the speed boost gained from losing a health state or the infection hitting you completely negates it, it might as well not even be there since it's so bad.
I just don't get why Nemesis gives a boost when he doesn't injure the survivor in the first place. The actual attack itself is very strong. Even with having to infect survivors first its still strong. That speed boost on the infection hit is the main thing that makes it so weak because it does turn it into, "You can m1 at a range but it takes 3 shots to down someone". Do away with the speed boost on the initial infection hit and it would be significantly better. It's not like survivors can't play around it by baiting it, dodging it, etc.
The question is why did they bother to put the status on him, when the effects aren't even noticable If he didn't have the status, nothing would change
Vigil used to be the most misunderstood perk in the game and now I feel like everyone runs it with exhaustion perks and with how many killer debuffs get countered by it... This perks just good man, especially cause it stacks.

Let's just be honest, who in their right f*cking mind thought that 0.2 seconds for a status effect was a good idea? It is a GREEN ADD-ON! Buff that shit to 3 seconds. If Nemesis is required to hit a survivor 3 whole times just to down a survivor then 3 seconds should not be a problem. After all, Whesker has a similar ability but his hindered lasts FOREVER until you are cured.
Something sad though is that if you pair Vigil with Second Wind/Renewal, the broken status effect will go away faster but you won't heal until the timer on the perk is up

Vigil can make for a great prank with Deliverance. For Killers who use Deliverance as a DS timer, they might pick you up early thinking it has deactivated
Nemesis is really becoming the next Pig with how many small things just contribute to making him not worthwhile to play over other killers, from his whip having to be at specific angles to break pallets or hit survivors to zombies just blair witching into the wall all game. They really need to do some fixes on Nemesis because half the time he's unreliable despite being one of the more fun killers.
Trust me when I say that when you're playing the Nemesis, you will never notice nor rely on nor even care about the hindered status effect after a tentacle strike so using Vigil against him is like saying that 6'0" is better than 5'11.9".
What I find interesting is just how many interactions like this one are in the game. It's virtually impossible for anyone to figure them out on their own without checking wiki and connecting dots like a detective but they exist, somewhat hidden behind obscurity of gameplay mechanics. You have to know that Nemesis applies tiny bit of Hindered, you have to know that Vigil increases recovery speed from Hindered and you have to join these two facts together. I doubt most players would even bother to think about stuff like this. This game is so complex that even players with thousands of hours can be surprised.

Honestly, as a nemisis main i just dont care and bait pallets and loop trick survivors out of thier loops, or hit them over walls when they loop me. If they vault i slap them if they stay at the vault i slap them with a tentacle and i use depleted inkwell and another thing to make zombies go a total of 200% faster whenever a gen is repaired. Its not about the infection and effects to me its about evolving so i can punish pallets
I still dont get why survivor get speed boost just for infecting, i guess to avoid back to back hit but pulling tentacle twice should take longer than punching once, so why not hmmm.
I am 1000% sure that Nemesis' tentacle tentacle hitbox is wonky. It being tiny is no excuse, Deathslinger also has a tiny hitbox and I can hit crazy shots almost always. There are numerous time where the tentacle hit a survivor right on their back and I didn't get anything. As if Nemesis wasn't problematic enough already
Now I want to see the speed difference between licker tongue no vigil, and no licker tongue and vigil, I honestly believe the difference is going to be non existent but itd be funny
I'd say you'd only get infected if they release you, and Nemesis can hit you while you're being grabbed to injure you, but that kills the zombie in the process and prevents them from infecting you. If you get hit while grabbed and already injured, you go into deep wound, and are downed outright if already in deep wound. If a zombie grabs you while you're already infected, you take damage when it releases you.
The hindered is only a fraction of a second.. meaning that if you recover that faster doesnt do much. The hindered is barely noticable as it is. The 30 percent faster really isnt a problem at all and not depressing at all
They should remove the Hindered for Nemesis entirely. It is so useless and doesn’t work properly. And the add-on that helps, Licker Tongue, should do something else. Maybe recover from missed Tentacle Strikes by 0.5 seconds maybe?
I thought they should just buff the hindered but I like this idea too. Honestly most of his addons need reworked. Because as it is right now, so many of the addons just affect the tier points you get for killing zombies. He could have addons that apply other status effects on tentacle hits like mangled or hemorrhage. His brown addons are bad enough that they could just be combined to make room for another one
Nemesis is my most hated killer to go up against. Even more than blight. His zombies are ALWAYS protecting 1-2 of the last 3 gens and he can just waltz his way through pallets. F that killer. Nerf it to the ground idc.
Easy fix, just use Licker Tongue for that extra 0.2 seconds hindered and it's almost like they don't have Vigil. 😢

If Vigil recovered incapacitated, it would become META with the current Eruption killer META, or at least used pretty often
