I found this crazy trick to help me out since I'm a brain dead killer main. I count to 10, twice. Because I don't know what comes after 10, I always forget, so I just start over again and the timing works out perfectly. I must be a genius.
I actually saved a friend of mine exactly as described in the video. It was the endgame, a gate was open nearby, I was healthy, and my friend was on hook. I unhooked him, the killer ran up behind him and waited for the built-in endurance to end, and when he hit him he got away because of the extra endurance from BT. It definately won't come up every game, but it is definitely worth running.
That killer proceeded to fill up the forums with “BT really needs to be nerfed. Survivors already have anti-tunnel basekit they really don’t need anymore!”

I swear BT is one of my favorite perks rn because even though my friends use OTR, the speed boost still helps them stay safe. Plus it works in endgame too! More people need to start running it.

I'm a 10-second counter and BT has definitely emotionally destroyed me a few times recently. If nothing else it's made me paranoid about Off the Record and DH being in play and me just missing the signs
I remember 4 years ago when I just started playing DBD and MMR was different, we got matched together with my swf flatmates. We were facing Billy on Springfield and during endgame I got you off the hook with BT while injured and you escaped. My silly mistake was that I waited around the opened gate after that, hoping the billy would go to the other one to find me, but I got discovered and killed. That's my proudest, happiest moment in all my time playing dbd. I wish I found that clip on your twitch and saved it somewhere.
Still running BT since they nerfed it (was using it before as well). Killers REALLY only count to 10 and then they get punished for it. It also helps with Endgame Saves, since everything else is disabled (aside from Base Endurance).
If you bring Babysitter (Guardian) and borrowed time (excluding a couple of killers) if the unhooked Survivor just holds W away in a straight line, they can pretty much cross the entire map before the killer can even start to try and hit them its crazy.
I just played a game where the onryo chased me the whole match, injuring others and recommitting to me over and over downing me a few times and my team kept sabotaging hooks, and I was hooked just before the 5th gen popped. She camped me until my hook timer was about to run and out and someone saved me with borrowed time. I ran straight to the exit gate and she waited a long time to hit me, she was right on my tail and finally hit me and gave me the boost to escape. It helps still sometimes!!!
I remember equiping BT (since I didnt had any good perk avalible as Bill) and the one time I had it the next match a Wraith tunneled this guy I unhocked and was able to escape with the extra time... well it was borrowe time... ok im out.

Genuine question. I know you don't know what solo queue teammates are running, but isn't it just way better to run off the record? I know borrowed time helps the person you're unhooking and off the record is for yourself, but if your teammates have off the record then borrowed time is pointless right?
Although off the record does make borrowed time pointless with the endurance extension, borrowed time still gives the unhooked survivor additional 10% haste for an extra ten seconds

Don't get me wrong, I don't always catch up with his streams but this once I catched up and it seemed to me that he's really exhausted himself like he's pushing himself to play DBD. I understand that it's his bread and butter but I'm %100 sure as many others also agreed that if he were to start streaming other games. We would definitely enjoy it and watch it be it YT or Twitch
Borrowed time gives the survivor additional haste for longer, and has ZERO telltale signs it’s in action until the ten seconds have passed, it’s more discreet than otr and doesn’t deactivate end game :p

Nah. BT doesn't increase their haste. It only increases how long the existing haste-off-hook lasts. But if you're truly going to wait 20 seconds...they are sure as hell going to reach a tile in that time.
Doesn’t off the record basically do what BT does but better? (Except for the end game) I never use OTR so I forget exactly what it does. I’m a classy dramaturgy and plot twist kinda guy
Both have pros and cons. OTR lasts 80 seconds. But it also broadcasts itself cause they have no grunts of pain. And it only works on the user. BT meanwhile is a lot more discreet. No obvious signs outside of waiting 10 seconds and seeing them still running kinda fast. Works on EVERY person they save from Hook. And unlike OTR still works in the endgame. It has allowed many a clutch save in my games when the Killer goes "Ok Endgame so that means no DS no OTR!"
I'm sure someone could do the math, but it's worth mentioning that not only does BT work in endgame, it also doubles the 10% unhook haste duration. Unless the killer has some insane two-tap up their sleeve, it's obscenely difficult to down a survivor rescued with BT in the endgame ANYWHERE on the map.
@@-snek.this! 110% speed for TWENTY seconds is nothing to sneeze at. It doesn’t save you from any powers, but really helps traversing the map, especially since you can easily tank a hit with 20s endurance. In end game, that’s basically running hope + old mft on anyone you unhook with only one perk

The justification that Otz makes for some of DBD’s terribly niche and (now) useless perks is just getting to be too much. No hate at all but can’t we just stop kidding ourselves???

Bt is a sleeper. Had a knight who did the "Count to 10" strat and BT threw him off hard. Managed to get a 4 man escape because of it.

It's the same point with blood warden, it's rarely used but it always comes in clutch when no one expects it.

You could also combine BT with Tenacity and Unbreakable so you can crawl away and recover while the killer is distracted with the BT unhook.

I still love using borrowed time with my healing build. I like to run We'll Make It, Borrowed Time, Babysitter and Desperate Measures.
