    Thanks for the idea! Just built the same setup for my job boat. Love these seats. I’m a big dude too and it’s way more comfortable than any other seat I’ve owned and I’ve owned a lot!

    Ended up using this idea in my boat! Wanted to say thank you for the idea it looks great now and can easily be moved wherever I made 2 so far and gonna make at least 1 more for back of boat and then change the seat tops eventually just used what I got free for now and very happy with it!

      Super, glad it's working for you. It's about the only style I like when you have some flat area on your boat. It gives you options

    • @jordanrose1194
      @jordanrose1194 3 года назад

      @@Michaelsbackyardmarina yes it made plenty of extra room on the boat compared to the old style it’s very similar to yours now just different color indoor/ outdoor carpet! Now the back of boat is way better and next spring I’ll prob make a casting deck for it. Might be looking into doing them seats you did seems like you enjoy them

      It works so well I am doing the same thing for the current boat I am working on. It gives you so much flexibility.

    Love this idea I just got a 1981 blue fin on the water again and the floor is soft and the seats are rotting and falling apart so I am going to build a temp floor to put over old one and then carpet it and wanted a way to put fishing seats in to replace the ski style ones that are falling apart would love to hear if this is still working out good for you? I’m in Iowa would be on lakes in Midwest mostly

    I have a 73 StarCraft
    Supersport. I want to pull the back to back bench seats and do your design. Are they only for trolling or can I go wide open throttle on my 60 horsepower. Will the tip or move around while trailering to and from lake. I really like the design I just wonder if I can go 35 mph in the seat and will the empty seat move about. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

      Mine works just fine as they are. I trailer with them in place and they don't move.

      @@Michaelsbackyardmarina thanks for response. I find your videos extremely informative and easy to follow especially for a not so handy guy like me. I’m also adding the casting deck up front. Keep up the good work.

      now in 3 foot swells you may have some trouble. Normal lake stuff I haven't had any problems.

    There is no way that going to be stable enough in off shore conditions. You would end up in the drink around here 😂😂

    • @Michaelsbackyardmarina
      @Michaelsbackyardmarina  4 года назад +2

      Well I'm in the middle of the US so I don't have to worry about off shore. Handles 3-4 foot lake swells just fine. Last time I checked you don't seat belt into a boat anyway.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 4 года назад +1

      RMD Creations maybe you should qualify that in the video title. But dropping off the top of a 3metre wave at 25 knots without your seat bolted down would be downright dangerous!
