  • Manta at SeaWorld Orlando is a Bolliger & Mabillard flying coaster. This ride features 4 inversions, including an ultra intense pretzel loop. And the course is scenic, passing over midways, trees, and waterfalls. Then the queue line also passes a giant aquarium. Does all this make it America's best flying coaster? Find out in this review!

      It amazed me the difference between the back and the front.
      My first ride was in the front and it was almost boring.
      Then I rode in the back and it was one of the most intense experience's I ever had. I greyed out for the first time in my life on that pretzel loop.

    SeaWorld Orlando overall does a great job operating Manta. They consistently run two trains and regularly use the dual loading station.

      I went this past year on a very chill day, it was a walk on, but we still were stuck on the brake run for over 6 minutes. The restraints left awful bruises on me as a result. The staff that day were not in a hurry to do ANYTHING. It was incredibly frustrating

    I love this ride. I do, however, think that Tatsu is a much better NA flying coaster. It has a much better sense of height and freedom, plus a much more intense pretzel loop. Again, I love this ride and it has world-class presentation.

    Something about B&M flyers is so cool to me and makes them one of my favorite roller coaster models from any manufacturer. The mixture of graceful elements and some of the most intense elements any coasters, not just B&M, has to offer is really unique.

    It would be really hard for me to take Manta over Tatsu. Manta is probably the more consistently action packed layout and had better presentation (though Tatsu is no slouch in presentation and it's almost awe inspiring to see it flying high up over the midway.) But I think when Tatsu is at its best it is the stronger ride.
    But you are right about the queue for Manta. If we include everything about the ride as a package then I'll really admit that Manta is the best because of that queue. It blows my mind that the SeaWorld and Busch Gardens parks don't do more animal exhibits in their queue lines. Iron Gwazi should have a Nile Crocodile exhibit in the queue. It would be cool to have sharks in the queue for Mako, Stingsrays in the queue for Texas Stingray and so on and so forth. Plus move the wolves over to the queue for Verbolten or DarKoaster.

    • @Sauci55on
      @Sauci55on 7 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t think animals would like being placed next to a loud af rollercoaster.

    • @zacg_
      @zacg_ 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@Sauci55on well, obviously it's not an issue for indoor aquarium exhibits (e.g. this ride.) Also, there are parks that do it (like Wild Adventures.) Even BGT used to have American Alligators right under your feet as you exited the station on Montu. And you don't need to put the animals right next to the loud and rattly parts of the ride. You just put them next to the queue further back. Heck, BGT puts animals ride next to the train. This wouldn't be hard at all as long as you are thoughtful about the location and species.

    I went on Manta this summer and it was a very good B&M flyer and superior to the Superman’s and I was really impressed, but Tatsu has a better layout and I love that the pretzel loop is halfway through the ride instead of at the very beginning.

    This has always been one of my favorite coasters, especially after both my mom & I were scared to ride it in 2011. At the end of our 2nd day, she decided to try it, and she loved it. So I gave it a try and loved it too. Great moments like that will always stick with me for every lap, no matter how many more times I ride it. No other flyer can touch Manta for me, even though I love Batwing's layout and the size of Tatsu. On my last visit, they were running 2 trains on both sides, so we roll right into the station. Later, they ran both trains from the same side, which is more common.
    There is an aquarium area that is not a part of the queue, giving a different perspective of the same large tank, plus some other tanks. I've noticed that some of the music is from the movie, Deep Blue Sea. One of the more recognizable parts of the music is in this video at the 52-second mark: ruclips.net/video/5i4wMZnaG7w/видео.html.

      Nighthawk has some shake to it, but Batwing at Six Flags America was glossy smooth when I rode it. It has an excellent layout, which I thought was better than the layout of any B&M flyer in the U.S. However, I still like Manta more than Batwing. There is something special about it. I do think Nighthawk is better than the Superman fliers, as the Superman fliers are very tame after the pretzel loop.

    Going into this ride, the only flyer I had ridden was Superman at SFGAM. Now when I rode Superman I was not impressed, the pretzel loop was as forceless as could be, the turns were slow and uneventful, and the only cool part of the ride in my opinion was the last inversion, which caught me off guard. Superman was Super-underwhelming, and going into Manta, I thought it looked like a Superman clone with some extra turns and inversions…
    Boy was I wrong.
    First of all, the first drop actually felt like a drop, this is something even some inverts can’t achieve. The pretzel loop was so forceful it made me scream like a little girl (easily one of the most intense moments on any coaster I’ve experienced), the turns and inversions throughout the layout actually felt forceful, also the trains on Manta just felt more comfortable. The trains on Superman made my thighs hurt, while I felt like I could fall asleep in these ones. I am now a fan of B&M flyers, and I am excited to try other amazing flyers like Tatsu and Flying Dino.

    I still think it's a mistake to have 5 of your 8 coasters from one company. Even though I respect no manufacturer more. But only the kiddie coaster, Journey to Atlantis and Icebreaker aren't B&M. It's a popular ride but only among a select target group. Most parents and older folk don't seem to ride it. At least from my hour or so of watching the entrance while people watching. I've never seen the double station in use. I do love the aquariums in the queue and exit. I just dont' really like flyers, honestly. They're all right, but I don't like having to crane my neck to look forward and they're kind of uncomfortable. About as comfortable as you can make it, I guess. I think pretzel rolls are just a little too intense too. I guess they're fine, but still. I mean, just imagine walking on a planet with even half of a gravity like that. You'd just collapse after a minute.
