- One of my favorite flying coasters lies in Orlando, Florida, and is called Manta! This beautiful ride can be found swooping and soaring around SeaWorld, giving riders the sensation of flight.

A coaster needs character. Character is something that clearly six flags doesn't understand very well. Manta has wonderful character with all of its themeing and its scenery which is why I like this coaster. For me, I believe you are right and manta is definitely a ten. Great review!
check the tatsu review, he says that tatsu is a 8 , he even says that tatsus better
Lucas Peng he was probably comparing tatsu to normal coasters, while comparing this to other flying coasters
Gunnar Parrish Tatsu is way better. Higher, longer, faster, and more intense
Lucas Peng tats is gay
That slo mo shot is cool as hell
First
Flying Coaster for me
Christian Moss a bit late but, is it a good first flyer? I have only ever seen Tatsu because that is the flyer at my local park, but that one is TOO large for a first one.
For me Manta was my second flying coaster after Superman: Ultimate Flight at multiple Six Flags parks which is definitely tamer than Manta. But I still think if you can do an intense roller coaster, you can probably handle Tatsu. I haven’t ridden Tatsu but what’s the worst thing that can happen. I think it’s at least worth a try according to my not expert opinion,
The Only Flyer I have done Is Superman Ultimate Flight at My Homepark Six Flags Great Adventure
Ah, my first roller coaster.
Rode it on a band trip when it first opened.
Still my favorite flying coaster.
EpicFailureFive Same here man! Same here
For scenery this is my favourite but for most intense i prefer tatsu
This was my first flying coaster
Gonna be real here, I greyed out on the pretzel loop. My gifted group was going for our end of the year field trip and I completely was oblivious to the pretzel loop. I was terrified when it came lol. But you are so right, the force on it is CRAZY. So much fun.
Manta is a very fun ride! I only got to ride it once and it’s truly insane. The queue is indoors and had awesome aquarium tanks in it... and it was only 15 minutes when i got on! The ride experience itself was surreal because of all the times i’ve seen it on tv and how amazing it was. Once i got off I was so hyped because it was an experience i’ll never forget
For me Manta is the most reridable of the B&M flyers. It is intense enough to be thrilling without wiping you out, especially in the back row. Back row on Tatsu in the summer heat can definitely take you down for a while.
haiderodes yea that’s true I immediately went and got a drink after that one
What about Galactica. It's the oldest but doesn't do anything crazy.
I rode manta 10 times in 2 days. This is my favorite coaster I've ever been on.
Went on Manta this summer and that front flip loop pins you to the seat soooo hard it's amazing!
yeah man i greyed out on that
oh boy has magic mountain got a surprise for you
For most men your balls invert which feels weird but satisfying
@@bonesmalone5802 went on Tatsu's pretzel loop, can confirm its a ball crusher
The next one ☝️ was the day
Manta was my very first B&M flying coaster! The pretzel loop was absolutely insane, and the turns and twists felt graceful. Unlike Nighthawk, this ride DOES make you feel like you’re flying, like a manta ray gliding across the ocean.
It's my personal favorite flying coaster
The Beautiful slow mode footage is beautiful. Great Review. 10/10
This coaster was amazing! Really cool theming!
Manta's my favorite ride at SeaWorld Orlando. And you're right about the rays, there's a freshwater tank with freshwater rays and an absolutely colossal tank with cownose Rays and some bigger ones that I can't think the name of.
There is nothing more intense on a roller coaster than sitting in the back of a flying coaster while you're going through a Pretzel Loop
It was my first BIG BOI coaster and I gotta say... it’s was top 10 moments I’ve ever experienced in my life! 3rd favorite coaster!
I love flying coasters (especially this one)
Holy *h e c c* Taylor, we have an early Christmas gift?
This just got me more hyped to ride it in December!!! Raised expectations for sure
I’m literally about to get on it. Like... Right now. LOVE IT.
I have ridden Manta close to 40 times, more than any other roller coaster on the planet! And Orlando is 1200 miles away from my home. I thoroughly love Manta, and I agree with everything you said here. It slaughters the Six Flags flying coasters. The aquarium in the queue does indeed have plenty of rays swimming around. There is also a separate entrance for the aquarium, not a part of the queue, with more viewing stations.
Wow. High praise, indeed. And definitely deserved. I haven't been on any other flying coasters, but I'm well-aware that Superman @ SFGA is shorter and has only 2 inversions. I just know I love Manta. I can't wait to go on it again when I go there tomorrow. 😊
Manta is terrific! i love how the theming is set up for this coaster!
This looks so fun! I've never been on a flying coaster before, and I really want to!
I love this ride. The queue is amazing and I remember sitting on the far right seat on one ride and I could feel the water splash a little bit when I put my arms out
i rode manta back in june 2016 and its the only b&m flyer I've ridden. its obviously my favorite b&m flyer but i really enjoyed it. i can agree with you. For me it ranks #5 in my top roller coasters (with storm chaser, mako, fury 325, and griffon above it)
I agree with this review! I’m so thankful to have this coaster in my home state!
When I rode manta it was incredible it’s currently my #6 roller coaster!
One fantastic ride, so good it's in my top 5! My favourite flying coaster for sure, even if the only other one I've ridden is Galactica
I absolutely agree with your review, I love Manta, and it is indeed an underrated coaster!
I love manta this rollercoaster is one of my favorite especially the g-force part
Manta is outstanding, great review!
I love pretzel loops!
My brother claimed when we rode it a few years ago they if you ride the far left seat you will get hit by the waterfall.
SkilledSniper 69 Not hit, but you get lightly misted.
Which is a wonderful feeling. 😊
On the far right, my knee got wet from the water splash.
I rode on the left and I got hit.
You get misted by the water effect, but not by the water fall
Awesome review, I enjoyed it!!!
This use to be me and my dad's favorite coaster before we got to riding more. In my opinion this is better than kraken. And coming from someone who has SFOG as their home park and someone that gets to ride Superman often this one is definitely more exciting and better in general. Sure Superman has that intense pretzel loop and is still good but manta is still one of my top 10 roller coasters.
I really wish more parks would add flying coasters. It seems we got the three flying dutchmans, three Supermans, Tatsu, this, and parks then forgot about this type of ride. I'm wondering if Cedar Point will get one in the future.
This was my first coaster and I feel like it's the most re ridable coaster I've been on. Not too forceful and the flying is fun
I want to ride this coaster so bad. It looks so awesome.
when i got to do this, the first day i only got to do it once cause it was closed most of the day and when it opened back up, the line was huge. the second day, i got 6 rides in a row but i had a little bit of a sour experience. it wasn't the ride it self. the ride operators were stacking trains and we were stuck on the break run for a solid minute. all though, they were nice enough to let me sit in the back row after requested and the pretzel loop was probably the most intense element i've experienced
I only been on the one superman in sixflags over Georgia and the vecokoma flying Dutchman in this looks really cool to do sometime wish more parks had these B and M flying costers they seem do be really popular
Wow. Wasn't expecting the ten.
When it comes to comparing Manta and Tatsu, my favorite is whichever one I've ridden most recently. They're both really good. And both substantially better than a Superman clone or a Flying Dutchman.
I Really Love Manta The B&M Flying Coaster ❤️
Taylor, I love Manta, it is very intense, and very smooth, and it’s overall a fantastic roller coaster, it’s my #15 at the moment of my 93 coasters I’ve Ridden, I give it an 8.5/10, but that score is of all coasters I’ve ridden
This was my 1st coaster with inversions
I rode manta for the first time this summer and i was surprised too. The only other flying coasters I’ve ridden is SUF @ GADV and Batwing @ SFA. Manta demolishes both of them and i rode it 3 times in a row
No joke when you releases the footage for this coaster 2 days ago I was actually going to comment "this footage would be great for a review video
I went to SWO for IAAPA ERT last year but Manta wasn't open. Kinda sad but hey ERT on Mako and Kraken was great
I love this roller coaster. By far my favorite coaster at Sea World Orlando (Tho Kraken and Mako are also awesome, I like this better). I'd say this is one of the best coasters in Florida. I have ridden two Giga's (Leviathan and Mille) and I have Manta ahead of both of them!
Same. I was most looking forward to mako which i loved. Loved kraken too so smooth. But manta my fave at swo.
Loved this ride! A little uncomfortable to be in that position because I had to turn my head up to see where I was going, but very fun.
manta is a amazing coaster
Manta is my favorite flying coaster
I love the Manta ride It's My Favorite SeaWorld Ride
Great review! I really like Manta too!
It’s my friend Amber’s favorite coaster. She didn’t go on mako because she went 3 or 4 years ago. Even though she’s rode Goliath and lightning rod!!
I have not ridden this, I have been on Acrobat, but I still want to ride this
My only experience of flying coasters was Superman at 6flags great adventure before I rode this yday. Needless to say, this ride blew me away. 10/10 for sure
I only been on one flying coaster which is tatsu it's really intense but I want to do manta really bad it looks fun
I came super close to riding this when I was 8. Missed the height limit by 1 inch lol.
I feel like the experience doesn't change with the row on flying coasters
This coaster nearly ripped my head off in the back seat on the pretzel loop, but in the front I found it a lot more enjoyable and bearable
Great review! That slo mo shot was so cool. I’m surprised by the 10/10 score. Does this mean it makes it into your top 20?
I love this ride, I do prefer Flying Dino and Tatsu though. But this and Acrobat are both incredible coasters, and I can not wait to ride Starry Sky Ripper next year though.
Don't ask me why, but I didn't ride any of the coasters at Seaworld Orlando when I went there. Now for my next vacation I'm going to the San Deigo version. Hopefully I'll ride all of the coasters there.
It's a cool ride
Please do a video about all of the small parks out there that are actually worth visiting
I love manta it’s my favourite ride and I’m 11
Great Review @coasterstudios I agree 100% I guess all that’s left for that park is Kraken now.
Gabriel Hernandez what about the water coaster
Jayden DeJesus oh yes and also Atlantis
Kumba review next
Awesome review! There is no coaster channel that even comes close to you!
Also I think it deserves that score it looks fun I have never been on it I think the problem that most people have with tatsu is that pretzel loop which is the most intense thing I've been on I also think it's too intense
I thought Manta was great. It was the first thing i rode on my recent visit to Seaworld. But I found Kraken and Mako to be a lot more exciting personally. All three are top notch in my opinion.
Be prepared for F.L.Y. in Phantasialand, Germany. The first LAUNCHED and LONGEST flying coaster ever built!!
LukaTaronLover is it opening next year?
Coaster Studios RCDB says 2019, so I’m assuming it’s 2019. I’m guessing they need some time to work on the theming all around the coaster.
Coaster Studios 2019. Construction is apparently almost done but the theming takes some time. I’ll going to Phantasialand next year(Im American) so maybe I’ll take some construction photos
I have inside info, yes: 2019.
By Vekoma... We'll see how good it is
Been there, done that!
The greatest part for me though is when they flat line your seat with the coaster at the start... Knocked the s"*t out of me!!
SeaWorld is my home park
Man you go everywhere
CrazyWharf625 He has been to neither Shreveport, Louisiana, nor Medicine Hat, Alberta.
StamfordBridge Six Flags Great Escape, Six Flags Mexico, Frontier City, Canobie Lake. That's about it. I wish I could travel that much.
I aggree with a lot of what you said, although I wouldn't give it a 10. Of the flyers I have ridden (this, 2 Supermans, Firehawk, and Time Warp), this is by far the best, the Supermans and Firehawk are both fun, and Time Warp is better as scrap metal. Comparing flyers to inverts, I'd say this is better than any operating (that beeing a key word) inverts I have ridden. I did prefer the Fire side of Dueling Dragons, but I preferred Manta to the Ice side.
Thursday aka yesterday I went on manta 2 times
This the first adult coaster ive ridden and it also is the coaster that inspired me to be a coaster enthusiast. I agree, manta is way better than the superman clones. Superman is a one trick pony with its preztal loop, it lacks just about everything else. But manta not only has incredible scenery and theme, but it has great elements as well. Ive never ridden tatsu so I cant give a valid opinion on that, it does looks pretty good though. Anyway manta is very underrated and is easily one of the best flying coasters.
So... this is kinda the Iron Rattler of flying coasters? (Not in layout and stuff, but in quality)?
Mikado Gaming Channel ?
Colin Keating Taylor loves this coaster, he said it's basically perfect, and he also said that about IR. Do you understand what I mean? - Mike
Mikado Gaming Channel I guess, just kinda weird word choice
Gp logic: this ride is safe because if you fall out you will because you will probably land in water which means you will be okay. And if You are reading this Taylor have a WONDERFUL day!
Luke Yarbrough37 yep that sounds very gp
I thought that it was a great coaster all around. However, I didn't think that it was that re-ridable. Don't get me wrong, I can get several rides in on it, but its so forceful that I need some rest in between laps, especially considering how it never really has a line.
My one complaint is how it stacks and you have to lap stomach down for a long time before you can roll into the station. I feel like it could benefit from a separate unloading station from its loading station.
When I went last May only one side of the station was operating and only running two trains. I love this ride but I would love it more if I wasn't stuck on the end break run in the laying position, and that goes for all flying coasters. Did you experience any stacking? For me its a joy kill on flyers.
I did not experience any stacking, because of the way the duel loading station was set up.
Ok. Sadly when I went operations were poor and we would lay on the break run for about 5 minutes or so. It got uncomfortable. Otherwise fantastic coaster!
It would be better if you could look at something interesting on the break run like a glass to aquarium or even a painting of underwater scene. Our view was of gum and a dirty tissue
Honestly, i enjoyed Manta more than Mako.
And i loved Mako too.
Taylor you should make a google doc with all your rankings
owo whats this
First Mako, now Manta. Is Kraken next? Did you ride it without VR, at least?
I rode this when I was just 11 years old (a decade ago!) and it was my favorite coaster then and still is now. I wish I could ride it again without supporting SeaWorld as a corporation.
Considering everything SeaWorld does for animals all over the world, they really deserve your support!
Taylor: I think I like this ride better than i expected and there's not too many rides were I can say that.
Flying Dinosaur: I'm going to end this man whole career.
Does the first loop really hurt your back?
This ride is beautiful but dont let that fool you it's more intense then you think it will be.
You should go to winterfest at carowinds
I have ridden both Tatsu and Manta. I much preferred Tatsu and here's why. The restraints on Manta were not the greatest. After one ride, my dad was completely done with Manta and I could see why. When I rode Manta, I was so focused on trying to keep the restraint from pushing my gut that I couldn't focus on the coaster itself and before I knew it we were on the brake run. Manta is a bit on the shorter side and isn't as large as some of the other flying coasters. I much preferred Kraken over Manta and my dad couldn't agree more (we didn't ride Mako because we went there like 4 years ago, much before Mako was even announced). Watching this review, I think Manta is overrated. Manta's theme is great which is one thing I like about it. A lot of times i think that Tatsu's theme is underrated. It has a dragon theme (also a Takis theme) and the music in the loading station is really neat! Tatsu also has dual loading stations which helps with capacity. The restraints on Tatsu are great and there are a lot of interactions with the environment. On one of the inversions I felt like I was going through a zero-g roll. Tatsu is forceful but knows when to be forceful and when to chill and put in an inversion that made me feel no g force. This is all just my opinion and if you disagree that's fine. I guess for me Tatsu fixed the problems with Manta and added some of it's own elements into it which made it one of the best coasters I have ever ridden.
All B&M flying coasters have the same exact restraint system. Tatsu and Manta's restraints are identical.
+Coaster Studios Well then it might have been that Tatsu did a better job not forcing my gut into the restraint then Manta did
FarFetched nope, exact same
FarFetched lol it’s the exact same restraints
It hurts your nuts lmao
Do manta vs tutsu
Do a top 5 ROLLER COASTERS AT SEAWORLD ORLANDO!
Jackson Priestap there’s only 5
Jayden DeJesus That's the point.
1. Mako
2. Manta
3. Kraken
4. Shamu express
5. Journey to Atlantis (i wouldn't count it as a coaster but whatever)
Done
I love your replies!😉
I’m pretty sure this is almost everyone’s opinion (I’m not an exception lol)
5. Shamu Express
4. JTA
3. Kraken
2. Manta
1. Mako
“I don’t give 10s to many coasters”
The Lionel Railfan I don't lol. Go back and watch all the reviews. I rarely give out a 10.
@@CoasterStudios does this mean Tatsu is at 10 now?
No
This is my 3rd favourite roller coaster in Florida, the only coasters better than this (in my opinion) is Sheikra and Mako!
I did not find Manta to be very rerideable. The dispatches were very slow, so I was sitting on the break run for about 3 minuets every ride, just staring straight down at the ground. The ride itself was still enjoyable, but I would much rather ride Kraken at the same park.
Does Sea World have two separate parks, one for amusement rides and one for marine life, or is it all one park?
Marine life and rides are combined but they have different parks too
It what I imagine flying in a fighter jet feels like.
you could say the ride is “mantastic”
Wow
