We as Reylos have come a long way. I remember being a 2015-2016 Reylo and just being an outcast, to 2017 with little hope and now to now this! I loved what Adam Driver had to say because like I think throughout this entire saga, Adam has been the most reliable source on quotes and information, he’s never once let slip but he’s never lied. So to me as a diehard 2015 Reylo, let me say this: Adam gives me hope. And let’s be honest he said “Prince Ben rights!” And “Reylo Rights!” ... and finally I loved JJ just saying “F it! I’m doing my own thing!” Because JJ has been the first Bendemptionist and Reylo Fan
It is true. He's quiet, but he's always been consistent. I think it relates to how great he is as an actor. I think he really honors the character and his trajectory.
Love the fact Knights of Ren are included, very cool! C3PO is finally getting attention he deserves! Love the nostaglia and mix of new characters. Finn and Rose? PO looks great!
Do you ladies think that Rey and Kylo’s fight in the rain calls back to Rey’s TFA vision where Kylo stabs a KOR while Rey’s on the floor? It’s raining in that scene. I can’t wait for the fight. Love to hear from you both!
Yes, it's possible. At the same time, there's that scene in which Kylo is possibly going against a KOR, and it's possible too. I'm sure JJ will call back to that scene somehow. I mean, KOR are back, and it would be satisfying to have a pay off for something set up in TFA.
Lords of the Sith Podcast yes exactly! Can you just imagine this fight, the rain, they’re wet, they’re most likely going to panting and trying to disarm one another. UGH can’t wait. And I agree Kylo should win this time.
Been waiting for this. I also really liked the quote that Adam gave where he talked about a choice needing to be made (paraphrasing) about whether to pursue the relationship or not. And I'm like 'boy who are you kidding?' You are totally going to pursue it.
Rey’s force vision of Kylo with his knights was of the future, and it’ll connect everything, along with other things she saw. I think a lot will be connected and make sense and I’m so excited to be shocked in the theater. Great video!
It's possible. We don't know. Remember that the TPM VF had a pic of Obi-Wan fighting Maul in the desert, so I still believe it's more about the mood and tone of the movie.
The writer clearly doesn't know canon cos he said General Pryde could be Hux's father. Hux's father was Brendol and Hux had him killed by Phasma. Writer of the article clearing doesn't know much so can't take what he says about them possibly being brother and sister seriously. I love the photo labelled star-crossed it seems staged though, as if something has been removed cos their sabers don't seem to be aimed at each other- but who knows.
@@pocketnunu maybe Palpatine or Matt Smith's character is battling both of them? Total speculation though. Their fights previously in fact anything between them has always been intimate with loads of eye contact.
I’m very super excited about the movie. The photos are beautiful. Aaaaaannndd yeah I agree with both of you they made them retract because it was a spoiler. 😊
Of cause Rey and Kylo are not siblings, but I really think that Finn and Jenna are. Even twins maybe?. I think the final chapter will be very much about finding HOME to where you belong - finding your FAMILY. They sure are using those words a lot in the article.
Love you ladies and really loved the "Shipping Panel" at celebration. Keep up the good work. Here is my unimportant opinion: The idea that Leia, who lost her mother at the time of her birth, is strong with the Force, AND didn't know about her twin brother for most of her life...had a daughter and either "didn't know it" or let her go (at all) or put her at risk to be abandoned, is ridiculous. I know it's what lots of people want, but it make zero sense given the specific childhood experiences/past of Luke and Leia themselves. Kylo Ren and Rey may be related somehow, (personally I doubt it, obviously :) ) but there is simply no way that Leia or Luke (already maligned by what happened with Ben) don't lose all credibility if either one abandoned or "lost" their own daughter. Particularly Leia. You don't have twins and not know, especially when you are as powerful in the Force as she is. If she was carrying two, she'd know. Regular people know there are two!! :) Leia doesn't misplace/lose a kid...she just doesn't. But that's just how I see it. Siblings is just so not possible. Anything else is on the table. Personally I'm voting for Rey Nobody. You gotta get some new blood in there somewhere. But I'm not JJ, so my opinion is not worth the proverbial paper it's printed on.
Not to mention their 10 year age difference! I swear people be smoking crack. I love Rey Nobody. A girl coming from nothing, with no one, pulling her self up by her bootstraps and making it on sheer optimism and hope alone. Also, her origins contrast nicely with Ben’s royalty-filled ones. I wish people could just appreciate the thought put into the sequel trilogy instead of craving an OT carbon copy.
@@Romanceguru AMEN!!! Contrast? Contrast you say? You mean like the princess and the smuggler? Sounds made up! ;). And you know, I wasn't even about to get into age difference and all the other reasons it's silly, because I think people who are confused may not be able to handle that deep an analysis. If I ever do, I'm gonna make you help since you obviously have sense! :) Also you bring up my other huge complaint about so-called fans. They cried that TFA was exactly the same as ANH (which is PRECISELY why they lined up 40+ years later to see TFA, if it ain't broke don't fix it much?) and then cried that TLJ was too different (immediately after trashing TFA for not being different enough). If you can't handle change, just watch the OT. Don't take in anything new. Never see growth or change or how the story ends. Nothing wrong with just the OT for all time if change isn't their thing. Other than that, I think they all need a bottle and a nap. #mtfbwy
Hello Ladies 👋 Disney can go prepping us all they want, but I see Reylo coming all the way. I've felt this way ever since I joined these podcasts and there's no turning back for me at this point.😊 Vanity Fair photos are awesome, just caught them the other day on another podcast. Oh yeah, I can't wait to see this movie! 😃😍💕💕💥🔥♥️❤️
One thing about the cover I've seen a few people point out is that when you place them side by side, Kylo's title is higher on the page almost like it's "rising" and the movie title is also in a different color. Idk if it means anything but it would be cool if it did! Great video! 🥰❤
Listening to this made me so happy, even as I nurse a sunburn. Here are the key points of my thoughts. 1] I wouldn't mind an argument between Rey and Kylo. Maybe, it'd go something like this. Kylo: "I was prepared to give you it all!" Rey: "You already HAD it all!" 2] That shot in the Falcon's cockpit reminded me of a teaser picture I saw for "Solo, A 'Star Wars' Story". It kind of fits, given that Poe seems to have been pushed forward as another Han. 3] I think there's a message in Luke's picture, and they used color to send it. The bottom half is "Dark Side" reddish-orange, while the top half is "Light Side" blue. A flame runs directly through the center. What do you think it means?
Great points 1 and 2. About Luke's photo, it's tricky. Orange and teal is a common color combination for TV shows, hollywood movies, hollywood posters, etc. That said, yes, it's possible to show some change and rising. It also looks like fire in the bottom, which is purifying in a way... So, I don't know, I guess a lot of interpretations are possible.
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Fire is also used in creation in many ways. People use it to make beautiful glass products, as well as strong swords back in the day. In nature, the fire from a volcanic eruption can create diamonds. And speaking of which..."Black Diamond", anyone?
@Lords of the Sith Podcast hi guys love your genuine reactions to these VF photos and fawning over them lol. If you don't mind me asking but where is Lee?
She was busy, and since this topic was time-sensitive, we couldn't wait for her to be available and recorded it quickly. But she'll be back in a really awesome episode we've recorded.
I love the covers and how you show the progression from the topics of the previous covers to these. I'm excited to see the movie and grateful to hear your podcasts, please keep making them! 💗 #reyloshipper
Yes. She also wasn't in the teaser trailer. I think they're avoiding her in the mkt. That said, we saw her in a quick scene with Rey, so I'm assuming she'll be in the movie, and there are quotes saying she has a decent-sized role.
@@erika8349 JJ said she has a Lando sized role, and he was very gracious at Celebration, thanking Rian for having cast KMT. I think it will be all right.
Someone on either Tumblr or Twitter pointed out that they put a hidden word in the title. The hidden word is "Nirvana".....😍😍😍😍😍 Also, another person on Tumblr and girls with sabers pointed out that Rey has hearts in her eyes in the new vanity fair cover. They zoomed in on her eyes and yep they are there. 😻😻😻😻
Nirvana: (in Buddhism) a transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of Buddhism. Very interesting given the death of Kylo and rebirth of Ben speculation. Or maybe it means the cycle of Waring Sith and Jedi is done repeating itself? However, I wonder the extent of information/spoilers Vanity Fair is really privy to when putting their hidden meaning in the cover?
@@Romanceguru Hmmmm, I'm kinda suspecting that the staff of vanity fair who are hardcore reylo's maybe asked disney permission to put that little hidden gem in there? Or maybe JJ requested them to, I'm not sure. But it certainly is very telling and hopeful. 😍😍😍😍
Yes! Someone in a Reylo group in Facebook pointed it out and posted this picture of Rey and Ben battling and the top part of the millennium falcon and it looks similar to what they're standing on.
I think that considering Rey and Kylo picture together somewhere in rain and sea like background, is it possible that it is a part of the scene taking place on the Death Star ruins (sea, rain)? hmmm food for thought 😉 thanks girls
Anyone remember that Rumi quote from the Star Wars production studio moodboard? I can't find it now, but it talked about a place between right and wrong and meeting each other there. I think that poem will refer to this scene on the cover.
Yes, we talked about it in one of the videos. It's "Out beyond the ideas of right-doing and wrongdoing, there is a field. I will meet you there." You'll find different versions of it depending on the translation.
Regarding the cover photo: Sunset (Ben's half) and sunrise (Rey's half) is a significant symbol. The two times of the day when light and dark touch, mingle and create a beautiful display of color. 💕
kerri russells outfit is nice and the design reminds me of the villian and his spaceship's interior design in the Solo movie. also the scene where rey and ben are in the rain is interesting cause they kinda look odd. reys stance is like she is blocking a blow but ben looks like he is only getting ready to strike ? idk maybe they are fighting some unforseen something ? it will be interesting to find out
I really think that the title "Rise of Skywalker" refers to Luke's martyr-like sacrifice where people end up building a Force-based religion around him, due to the legends surrounding his character. If we're talking about the end of the Jedi and the Sith, plus being the "spark that lights the fire," it sounds almost like religious fervor. I may be entirely wrong (and if I am, I'm totally fine with that since it hopefully means they came up with something better), but I really prefer the idea of unintended worship around the Skywalker name versus someone from the past coming back to life or simply referring to Ben Solo.
One thing that I noticed about the picture of Rey and Kylo "fighting" in the rain was that they're not looking at each other. Kylo is looking past Rey and Rey is looking more towards the camera than at Kylo. To me that seemed like they were fighting off something together, but the opponents aren't in the picture because Lucasfilm didn't want to give anything away. I don't know, maybe I'm reading into too much. (>w
that is the guy from Rey's first Force Vision. Also that one Knight is carrying a Mandalorian axe. Plus as people schooled in myth, Kylo and the Knights equal seven. That is a magical number.
Yes, true! They were even more reylostatik than Rolling Stone! I remember we had an episode about it and we're all excited. But the thing is that it all started much later. Now, if it's starting like this...
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Idk I think Disney showed these pics for TROS to get people more excited about the movie. Even Adam Driver said the the bond between Ben and Rey goes even more deeper.
I think that Poe looks basic in that photo because Lando and Chewie are in it too. And they are too fabulous, and essentially eclipse Poe. I hope Poe falls in love with Lando.
I loved the Reylotastic pictures and information in the Vanity Fair spread! It seems to me that much of what was said was an intentional rebuke of DaisyGate. It's fantastic to see so much Reylo support among the crew of the film. When I look at the picture of Reylo and Kylo dueling in the rain, they both look like they are in defensive positions, like they really aren't looking to hurt each other. I do think that Kylo needs to score a victory in such a fight just as much as Rey really needs to suffer a defeat. I think that this needs to happen to show that they truly are equals. They can kiss and make up afterwards 😍. While the VF spread was great for Reylo, I'm deeply concerned about some of the other information contained within it. JJ's quotes concern me especially, as it sounds like this film is going to be some kind of commentary on the current political comment. I'm not sure if the fanbase can withstand this, and I think it would push many fans who are on the fence away entirely. Republicans like Star Wars, too. You know what I mean? I hope they have made a film that will resist lecturing half of the audience. Everyone is looking great, and I love the contrast of Kylo and Rey's outfit designs. I'm still not particularly fond of Poe's look in this one, though. He looks like a feminine Indiana Jones, lol. Billy Dee is looking fantastic, and I am excited to see him in action again. The Knights of Ren look pretty cool, but I don't think they are Luke's old students. They would be using lightsabers if they were, right? I was a little sad to see Poe in the co-pilot's seat of the Falcon rather than Chewie. Chewie really seems to be getting the short end of the stick in this trilogy. I am disappointed with Richard E. Grant's character, but only because I was hoping he would be playing Thrawn. I also had hopes that Keri Russell would be playing Ahsoka. Perhaps it's best that they don't use those characters though. I'd never forgive them if they ruined my waifu Ahsoka! Hopefully some of the new canon lore will finally be used in this film. Reading Chuck Wendig's novels was a chore, and I hope that time wasn't wasted, lol. His writing sucks, but there were some interesting elements and concepts introduced in them. Reylo has to happen for Rey's character development, right? I know I've said this before, but Reylo is by far the most interesting aspect of Rey's otherwise boring character, and I think that it presents the best challenge for her. She has longed for a sense of belonging, so having her presented with two conflicting choices in Kylo and the Resistance seems like an interesting conundrum for her to face. I agree that we really need more context about Luke and what happened at the temple. While I wish they hadn't mishandled him in the first place, I think it would go a long way with many fans if they do some retroactive repairs on him and better explain how he ended up the way he did. I was kind of upset about C-3PO looking like Rambo in the (fake?) leaked poster, but I've warmed up to the idea. I like the idea of him having a cowardly lion kind of arc and stepping up in the final episode. Omg Mary, is that your cat or a stock photo?! I have two cats 😺😺, lol. Great video Denise and Mary! I did miss Lee, though! Hopefully she will be back for the next one. See y'all next time!
Yeah, in terms of politics, I think that if the movie is symbolic/metaphorical enough, deeply personal matters can be conveyed in a way that has universal appeal. I think JJ isn't the kind of guy who's going to be literal about his beliefs, so I don't think we should worry. It's a stock photo. Mary sent a pic and I was going to use it, but I was iI feared she'd ask me to take the photo down and blur the cat and I was in too much of a hurry to ask her... So I found a photo of a similar cat. Yeah, we miss Lee too.
Oh, something else. Someone commented on the video that if you look at their left legs, it looks like the KOR have lightsabers. Can't confirm, but if you look, it's definitely a possibility.
I will never understand how anyone could really think that Han and Leia or Luke could have a child and be separated from that child by anything but death. As if they wouldn't feel her through the force. They would never let her be lost and alone like that.
I hate this leak because of how little sense it makes, also how disrespectful it would be to Han Solo as a character, wherever this rumor came from I highly doubt it's official
When I saw the covers of VF with Kylo & Rey....the first thought that came to mind was 'I wonder if the covers connect to each other?'....thank you for confirming my thought. 36:00 Actually I'm liking how Hux is looking here, he finally looks like the villain that we had a glimpse of in TFA, but here it looks like we are *finally* getting more of that in Episode 9.
Brother and sister came from some fan posts....you know there are people who actually still think that. I don’t think Disney had anything to do with that at all.
This was very informative and fun! I miss the Reylo trilogy vid set that Vincent Vader did last year. That shit was highly educational & entertaining! Shame he disappeared though :-/. I love the Reylo theory because it gives a break from everything established & lets fans really enjoy themselves. I actually wrote a small Reylo fanfic awhile back! I down for PoeFinn & Reylo it’s exciting & more progressive. There’s also Darth Jar Jar fanfic comic that was really good! You’re right though, people shouldn’t expect so much going into ANY movie. When I see a new movie that interests me, I go by the trailers & that’s it. I don’t go hunting for info or any of that shit. I’m gonna be the same way with Rise of Skywalker. I’ll be sad it’s over but I’ll be glad they’re moving on from the originals. For me, the originals are played out & to keep using them again and again, wouldn’t do any good honestly. Most are dead so doing them CGI would be just money grabbing. The pics from vanity fair are neat too! If we had a fully fleshed out Star Wars film that was built like Watchmen was, it would make everyone happy for the most part. Also, the first order’s origins are in Poe’s comic via Agent Terex. He came up with it to being with. That’s why books & comics always make for good tie-ins. There’s always gonna be something missing or off, so the books take care of that. Phasma is a great example of that! She might not have had much time onscreen but her comic & book + deleted scene for TLJ flesh out her character flawlessly. I’ll come back and watch the rest of your vids eventually. I’m gonna get cracking on my SW fanfic, The Draken Saga, now since it’s almost done. Also, link to the Reylo fanfic: my.w.tt/vjJHu4n2eZ
The middle story of any trio logo is a down beat one and usually ends a bit sadly but with a smidge of hope. The sad past....Kylo and Rey severing their connections, the (intended) ray of Hope....broom boy. 3rd act solves the downbeat in many a (well written) trilogy. The Rey Kylo (Ben) connection. In the cover photos...someone wrote....her belonging in these pictures is in front of her. Lol. Mystery solved.
I loved it brilliant analysis guys been hearing all kinds of antis bitching about rey being a Mary Sue this and that and I’m just setting back sipping my tea 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Everyone is assuming that it was Disney that told them to retract the KOR fighting Ben thing.... but it might not have been them. And that thought helps it all make better sense.... the author probably did t write the whole article himself...had assistant help. Maybe even In Interviewing for the article. Someone didn’t fully understand something.
Enjoyed watching this and hearing your commentary! I'm so ready for December. The VF pics are so carefully staged/photoshopped, you can tell we aren't seeing what's actually happening. In the rain could be when Rey's TFA vision of fighting KOR happens. I'm just so excited! I love the new characters, looking great, Luke and Artoo, gimme all that! Yass!! And maybe I read too much fluffy fanfic, but I feel a bit bad for Hux 😂 man I need December to be here.
On the VF cover they stand apart from each other... What if you make Rey from the pic stand opposite Kylo? Look at the direction of the wind... To me, they actually face each other, looking one another in the eyes ^^
look @ how jj handled Spock and Nyota... man, we're gonna get something so hot. the Reylo haters r gonna b so pissed when Rey and Kylo fall into each other...
I just had a thought about the picture of Luke & R2. The scenery around them looks as though it is when the temple was burned, EXCEPT that Luke's appearance looks the same as it did TLJ not the way it did when the temple burned. The thing that is the same about the scene is the R2 is in both. I am wondering if R2 recorded all of what happened when the temple was destroyed, and Luke is just now seeing it. Maybe he finds out Kylo was not the one that slaughtered his students and burned the temple. 😮
It's possible. That said, again, we shouldn't read too much into these photos because they are for the magazine and aren't still from the movie. But yeah, it would be cool if Luyke found out the truth. Though I'm wondering if forceghosts aren't omniscient.
Yes. It doesn't mean anything. It's her opinion and she's not the screenwriter. She also teased that it's a possibility with redemption and teased at it, so it looks promising. I think she expressed herself very poorly and must not care much for Reylo fans, but that's her choice as an actress.
It has been leaked that palpatine posses kylo and he makes Rey kill him which is his redemention and that she is related to him..hmm but I don't get if they have a force bond then how is that possible without the other suffering the effects of one dying ? Idk the last Jedi ruined it for me I have no connection with the new characters how they were written by Ruin Johnson the fans write them better I am looking forward to ivan Ortega's re-edit and kylo Ren the awakening was good I thought even though I hate how the original characters were stepped on and reject the last Jedi I don't hate on or disrespect others opinions and enjoy others views thanks for responding
@@amklvn Yes, it's pretty much confirmed that Rey will have to kill Kylo, but he probably get resurrected. As far as the related thing, that was debunked and fake and not from the same confirmed leaks as the last showdown. Pablo Hidalgo debunked it on twitter/instagram when someone posted it. They're going with reylo. They may make it more subtle due to backlash, but I don't see them completely getting rid of the romantic aspect, as it's part of the plot. He will also be redeemed when this happens.
@Lords of the Sith Podcast hi there its been a while since you've guys posted any star wars content I hope the group hasn't disbanded because even though it's not a whole lot of star wars episode 9 news but it's so much that building towards it such as the comics which will serve as a prequel for episode 9 including Mr. Ben Solo and his boys are getting there own story which will include Ben's dear old uncle Luke. Anyway I hope all is well and look forward to future content from you guys 👍😁
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Well that's good to know and speaking of the comics all this reading material that's going to be complementary before TROS comes out is really going to keep you guys and other Podcasters busy. Look forward to seeing future content from you guys
Me too! I think the trailer, along with these new photos, look visually stunning. JJ admitted he was inspired by Rian and it shows. So far it all looks very promising. 😊
@@Romanceguru it was just Lee that didn't really like the trailer much, but she does notice how JJ kept with RJ's stunning visuals. We all love how beautiful The Last Jedi is. It's pretty awesome that JJ is continuing the trend of striking colors.
Denise...the pics are opposite. Both in lighting (he's in shadow, she's in the sunrise/sunset...and their clothes are blowing in two different directions. I think they are facing each other...and I see longing on their faces...which makes sense if they are facing and looking at each other!
Do you guys feel like it could have been photoshopped?? To me it looks like there is too much space between them. Especially since Rey is in a defensive stance. I think a third party is involved with this picture
Well, the photos are posed. In the VF photos for TPM, there's Obi-Wan fighting Maul in the Tatooine desert, which never happened in the movie. So considering it's not a movie still, what we can get from it is more the mood and themes.
Yes! Please don't think I don't like cats. I have one, and when I say it's annoying, it's with all my love. The love of someone who's woken up every night at 4am!
Absolutely not at all do I think that about you not liking cats. They're like children who need attention and love. We use to have 3 cats years ago but have since passed on. Funny thing is I'm allergic to cats yet I like them much more than dogs.😊 I know what it's like to be woken up by them in the early morning hours just like my 4 children did over 40 years ago. Lol. I feel bad for you and I hope your cat mellows out so you can get some sleep. Have an awesome day and Denise too! 😊👍❤️❤️
I couldn't buy these two magazines fast enough. As for the story, compared to 2017, I was going to say Hooray, but given the subject matter, it should be HooReyLo, lol. I remain #ReyLo4LYF.
I wonder how the characters will tie into the overall ending of the galactic conflict - if there even is one. You speculate about a possible civil war within the First Order which could indeed provide the opening needed to give our heroes a chance. The fact remains though that the Resistance is finished. They have no military forces left where we left off and we see none in the trailer, whereas the First Order apparently dominates nearly the whole galaxy - about a million populated worlds or so. I can't see how this ends other than with a showdown between characters, the outcome of which leads to the First Order miraculously growing a conscience and become good guys or at least lay down their weapons and go home. Such a deus ex machina solution would be immensely dissatisfying. The Star Wars galaxy and world building in general is always bigger than a few heroes and villains on screen. What are your thoughts about that?
I think they'll do the underdogs against the big FO, which is interesting. To end, part of the FO could turn, or maybe more forces join and establish a new republic. That said, I think JJ won't really delve into that, into how the Galaxy gets organized again. I think a lot of it will be up in the air and we'll need books, which is awesome. More material!
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast That is a very cool idea, and perhaps even the one I'd prefer at this point - that we see true dissent in the First Order. It's a bit late in the trilogy, sure, but it could be pulled off if we get an exciting, charismatic new First Order character to lead the effort. Unless Kylo himself does it. I wonder... oh, the possibilities! :D
Oh, yeah. Star-crossed usually means doomed and possibly tragic. But we're quoting Vanity Fair and think it's a great step from "fanfiction fantasies"...
All right everyone there's I have to say right now before I continue and I’m gonna be very careful with how I phrase it because i know i I will definitely get flak for this and I'm expecting to. On Wednesday in light of all things vanity fair release after gazing at these photos ( and in addition listening to girls with sabers podcast :) ) out of freaking nowhere for real this thought came to me right out of the freaking blue looking at all these photos and all the marketing we’ve been given this far realize as one of you said in the beginning and how some people if not a lot of people initially had or went in with false expectations honestly I think we’ve all at some point have been looking at this trilogy all wrong , we went into this trilogy with so many expectations thinking it was going to be one way but it all got subverted. Snoke was never going to be the next Palpatine just so we can see a repetition of the original trilogy. Finn might be one of the main characters but not lead the trilogy the same way Rey has and Kylo/Ben Solo...at this rate Finn is a supporting character a supporting that I'm hoping at this point in time will grow and be stronger than he ever was in either Force Awakens and Last Jedi. I can say the same for Poe, might be a main character but is not quite on the level of lead character the way Rey and Kylo/Ben Solo have been and right now literary showing the entire world who's actually running the show. Just because the previous marketing had Rey, Finn and Poe together didn't mean it was going to be about them going on adventures together the entire team bring down the first order and have a Kum-ba-freaking- ya at the end like in another movie. Now we're getting this trio but it's not about the trio together because they all got their own things going on and in this film will see that. And now time for the part I'm definitely expecting people to disagree with me on a lot...as much as it pains me to say this but...this was never going to be about Luke coming back I mean he did but then he was gone it wasn't about him returning like Gandalf the white and live throughout the rest of the trilogy and forever. It was never going to a...father/daughter like dynamic with him and Rey. Though I would have liked that. I still would have liked that because I'm a sucker for daddy/daughter dynamics. But that didn't happen. Instead we got something better, or we got something even more deeply profound this trilogy to me because I don't want to treat my opinion like gospel and have everyone bow to it because I know it's going to be unpopular but to me if this sounds appropriate this trilogy is about balance or at least finding it in the middle of chaos, shit hitting the fan and by the middle of the journey we have nearly everyone hitting rock bottom really badly. In this trilogy we needed controversy and feel very uncomfortable with the change and get mad about it. Unfortunately we had to lose people too, great characters some we've known all our lives and some in a few short scenes that needed to happen. They are painful, unbearable losses it is hard to see our old favorites leave us so soon much like how it is in real life sometimes loss very abrubtly and out of nowhere and we got flipping mad about it because we didn't have proper closure. We didn't get proper closure with the original trio with all of their old friends together. Mark Hamill you're right it is missed opportunity. In some ways they were gone too soon that's a very painful and so so symbolic, universal feeling. I'm 27 years old and for 21 years I did not have a dad. I barely remember him so you know what I understand the pain from some fans and some of the actors. I hear you. And as painful as it is there needed to be loss in order for some characters to grow and for the story to move forward and for the franchise to hopefully still be around and have something new to offer. We won't be open about it at first because we don't know what "Star Wars" feels like an entire trilogy without our old friends yet. Han Solo, Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa this was supposed to be their last stand they just couldn't do it together like old times. Not like what happened in End game or Deathly Hallows with all of our mains coming together once and for all to save the day. In a way we were not supposed to know what was supposed to happen because if we did if we know what this trilogy was going to be the whole time...it would not have happened. It's a hard pill to swallow and even right now I still do not know what is supposed to happen from beginning to end...and I love that. I love that. Many people still don't like that right now, and still don't accept it .... that is fine that is all right you don't have to be OK with it. I will say it again, you do not have to feel OK with the results we have been given so far and what could be in the end. You don't have to be OK with it. I understand. But for me, it's beautiful, it's tough but it's beautiful and thought provoking and guess what after all this...I still believe in Ben-demption, we don't have to have Reylo even though I love of them but this man needs to have what his grandpa didn't up until the end. Being saved so this story can finally move forward with a bright new unpredictable future. At least for me. And with that I am more excited then I have ever been.
Miranda Alicea the only flak I’m going to give you is for how freaking wordy your writing style is. Lol. Otherwise I completely agree. The ST was never about the OT characters... they were meant to get a respectful nod in each film for nostalgic purposes and in their honor. This was always meant to be about the new characters. Unfortunately, Disney realized this was a mistake because the (many)aged fans from the past couldn’t handle having their old happy ending shook up. I am an aged fan btw. But I find change the true adventure in life.
Miranda Alicea I love your passion for making your point. I coach people who work for me in their writing so it is the first thing I notice everywhere. I always tell people who use a lot of words (essentially not summarizing their thoughts but writing every thought) to read a Hemingway and a CS Lewis book. They both said so very much with so few words. Almost magical how they do it. I’m just being a pain in the a&& ... your point was certainly made and I agree!! 😁
True. I don't think it's super clear, but it's definitely possible. Oooh, I hope they do have lightsabers for some epicness, although their regular weapons are already soooooo awesome!
Idk they might just be making the content because they know that the reylos are gonna make theory videos on it 😂 no shade, but it does give them free publicity
Sure, but cast and crew have tons of positive quotes. They need to keep people guessing! For us it's important to see that the media is no longer disrespecting us as fans, and that Vanity Fair is perhaps trying to make up for 2 years ago.
@@thehonorablelordrevan7660 I honestly dont care if they are related. But only from a way that doesnt spit on the characters/memories of Luke/Leia/Han. Which I dont know how they'd possibly be able to feasibly pull off. So I'm team I think they're not related at this point.
Star crossed lovers? What? So one day she watches him kill Han Solo and tells him he’s a monster and try’s to kill him, the next she’s being all girly when he has his shirt off, Han and Leia deserve this title not this load of rubbish
Sorry for you because Star Wars is not about spaceships according to George Lucas. But about family, love (in all ways), failure, human nature, hope, redemption and finally forgiveness...
Maria and that is why solo tanked in the box office because the main character had a lame love story. The sequels are successful because the filmmakers are following the same formula like the ot where the main character doesn’t have a love interest! George Lucas should have done that with the prequels. He should’ve just concentrated on the rise and fall of anakin skywalker in the 3 films
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast End of fight scene will lead to a kiss or love admission. It will happen!😊
Love the fact Knights of Ren are included, very cool! C3PO is finally getting attention he deserves! Love the nostaglia and mix of new characters. Finn and Rose? PO looks great!
The cover image - Kylo looks manly - like a prince. :)

STAR CROSSED LOVERS! REYLO IS CANON!
Reylo is canon. Emperor and Empress Solo is endgame.
My heart is filled with excitement everytime u ladies upload a video. Thank goodness for this RUclips Channel💗💯👍
Thanks! We're really happy you like it.
I was waiting for you guys to do a video about this. So excited to hear your thoughts...💞❤💫
Do you ladies think that Rey and Kylo’s fight in the rain calls back to Rey’s TFA vision where Kylo stabs a KOR while Rey’s on the floor? It’s raining in that scene. I can’t wait for the fight. Love to hear from you both!
Lisa - I hope so!! That would be cool!
+Julianne Leung This is getting very close to "Kiss The Girl" territory.
I found Reylo ice cream at Target guys... it's officially canon now.😆
Rey’s force vision of Kylo with his knights was of the future, and it’ll connect everything, along with other things she saw. I think a lot will be connected and make sense and I’m so excited to be shocked in the theater. Great video!
Rey and Ben aren't fighting each other in that staged picture. They are fighting together against the dark side acolyte.
It's possible. We don't know. Remember that the TPM VF had a pic of Obi-Wan fighting Maul in the desert, so I still believe it's more about the mood and tone of the movie.
I thought the same!! There seems like such a massive gap between them and Rey doesn't seem to be looking at him!
What are they standing on? Could it be a submerged ship?
A good Ben is fighting against an evil Rey
I was waiting for this video! I'm so excited that they're teasing that Reylo will be explored in Episode 9.
Yes, it's nice to see it this early in the marketing, in comparison to the pre TLJ marketin.
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast, definitely gives me hope!
I noticed that too -- they're not even looking at each other. Just sayin' -- the photo looks photo shopped. But why?
@@pocketnunu maybe Palpatine or Matt Smith's character is battling both of them? Total speculation though. Their fights previously in fact anything between them has always been intimate with loads of eye contact.
I will shout inside the cinema in full gladness if Rey and Kylo kiss in episode IX
No shame
I’m very super excited about the movie. The photos are beautiful. Aaaaaannndd yeah I agree with both of you they made them retract because it was a spoiler. 😊
Of cause Rey and Kylo are not siblings, but I really think that Finn and Jenna are. Even twins maybe?.
I think the final chapter will be very much about finding HOME to where you belong - finding your FAMILY. They sure are using those words a lot in the article.
Koreren *** so true. And I think family can also mean chosen friends not just blood relatives.
Jessica Albright so true👍
ReyLo just get married already!
With sabers crossed. For sure!
Exactly 👍
Agree!
Dumb Head - yes!!!
Also you bring up my other huge complaint about so-called fans.

One thing about the cover I've seen a few people point out is that when you place them side by side, Kylo's title is higher on the page almost like it's "rising" and the movie title is also in a different color. Idk if it means anything but it would be cool if it did! Great video! 🥰❤
I appreciate your channel you guys thanks for all the hard work you do and may the force be with you. #reylo
Listening to this made me so happy, even as I nurse a sunburn. Here are the key points of my thoughts.
1] I wouldn't mind an argument between Rey and Kylo. Maybe, it'd go something like this.
Kylo: "I was prepared to give you it all!"
Rey: "You already HAD it all!"
2] That shot in the Falcon's cockpit reminded me of a teaser picture I saw for "Solo, A 'Star Wars' Story".

My favorite podcast girls! I was surprised Rose was not in the pictures. I hope they don't cast her aside.
Yes. She also wasn't in the teaser trailer. I think they're avoiding her in the mkt. That said, we saw her in a quick scene with Rey, so I'm assuming she'll be in the movie, and there are quotes saying she has a decent-sized role.
I was getting worried about Rose’s character too! ):
@@erika8349 JJ said she has a Lando sized role, and he was very gracious at Celebration, thanking Rian for having cast KMT. I think it will be all right.

Bendemption of sure!
Yes - his outfit is like navy blue/dark grey - it’s the first thing that popped out to me - he’s no longer in liquid ink black
Neat!
Dumb Head you don’t sound very dumb...dumb head. 😁😁😁.
I've heard rumors that in the picture of Ben and Rey battling that they're standing on top of the millennium falcon.

@@sjs9869 lol yup. We just need to wait for the next trailer of TROS and watch the actual movie to find out!
I think that considering Rey and Kylo picture together somewhere in rain and sea like background, is it possible that it is a part of the scene taking place on the Death Star ruins (sea, rain)? hmmm food for thought 😉 thanks girls
Possible, for sure. We'll see in December.
Well I guess I’m not moving for the next 46 minutes
Gotta breathe, though.

Family night movies are wonderful.
Lords of the Sith Podcast Yes, thank you!
The field between... sunset/sunrise the time between night and day, where darkness touches the light. So excited!
Regarding the cover photo: Sunset (Ben's half) and sunrise (Rey's half) is a significant symbol. The two times of the day when light and dark touch, mingle and create a beautiful display of color. 💕
Yes. The meeting of dark and light. Beautiful.
Regarding the desert planet that they're at is a new planet called Pasaan. I found that out in one of the Reylo groups in Facebook.
Yes, I think they also mention it in the article.
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Yeah this is so exciting! Can't wait to see the Reylo space kiss between Ben and Rey.

Pryde cometh before the fall. 😁😁😁
Is it wrong of me to think how strongly Zorri Bliss's elongated helmet resembles the shape of Slave 1?
It does! I'm wondering why we haven't gotten parentage theories yet...
That photo looks like Rey and Kylo are fighting on part of the Death Star II where it hasn't submerged.
Yes, new video!
Yes!
kerri russells outfit is nice and the design reminds me of the villian and his spaceship's interior design in the Solo movie. also the scene where rey and ben are in the rain is interesting cause they kinda look odd. reys stance is like she is blocking a blow but ben looks like he is only getting ready to strike ? idk maybe they are fighting some unforseen something ? it will be interesting to find out
It's not a movie still, though, so it can be anything. True that KR's style is reminiscent of the Solo design.
Oh, that's a possibility too. Maybe it could be both.
I also liked the pictures from Entertainment magazine for The Last Jedi. When Rey and Ben were standing together.
Even Adam Driver said the the bond between Ben and Rey goes even more deeper.
im smiling ear to ear!
Sister referred me so I’ll be watching in the future :-)
Oh and speaking of Wuthering Height..we were just watching it on TV :)
I think that Poe looks basic in that photo because Lando and Chewie are in it too. And they are too fabulous, and essentially eclipse Poe. I hope Poe falls in love with Lando.
Yeah, maybe Lando does outshine Poe.
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast interesting. I'll have to take another look at that. Thanks!
I will never understand how anyone could really think that Han and Leia or Luke could have a child and be separated from that child by anything but death. As if they wouldn't feel her through the force. They would never let her be lost and alone like that.
Yeah... I mean. I think TFA pretty much buried any ideas of lost daughter or niece... But people see things differently.
I hate this leak because of how little sense it makes, also how disrespectful it would be to Han Solo as a character, wherever this rumor came from I highly doubt it's official
@@iaminevitable7221 Yeah, Pablo Hidalgo was quick to straight-up debunk it, which I think shows the sheer absurdity of it.

Yes. He looks like a villain!
True!

They seem to be facing each other, for sure.
Hello there!
look @ how jj handled Spock and Nyota... man, we're gonna get something so hot. the Reylo haters r gonna b so pissed when Rey and Kylo fall into each other...
Didnt anyone see Daisy Ridley's interview where she stated she isn't behind reylo stating it's toxic at stars celebration ?
Yes, we're going one on the comics right now. We've just been a bit busy irl.
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Well that's good to know and speaking of the comics all this reading material that's going to be complementary before TROS comes out is really going to keep you guys and other Podcasters busy. Look forward to seeing future content from you guys
I still can’t believe u or one of you didn’t like the trailer
Me too! I think the trailer, along with these new photos, look visually stunning. JJ admitted he was inspired by Rian and it shows.
So far it all looks very promising. 😊
At least they were civil about it and didn't.....go on a rampage :0
@@Romanceguru Yeah, Rian doesn't get enough credit for how beautiful TLJ's visuals are
@@Romanceguru it was just Lee that didn't really like the trailer much, but she does notice how JJ kept with RJ's stunning visuals.
Rey looks kind of like a bride, wearing white 👰 ❤️
Yeah, the white and dark lok is typical of couples. And it looks good!
Pryde before the fall? :P
Awesome 👍 podcast🤗😍 Mary, your cat is in need of a big hug. I'd do it but I live to far away.😆 Okay I'll just send a virtual hug😍😻😸♥️👣
Not "star-crossed". Force-Destined. :)
@@jessicaalbright7429 I definitely struggle with how I use my words in that style because it goes on and on but thank you for understanding.
@@jessicaalbright7429 I often have a tendency to go off on a tangent so maybe simplicity will be put into practice
The knights are actually using lightsabers, you can see them if you look closely at their left legs!
True. I don't think it's super clear, but it's definitely possible. Oooh, I hope they do have lightsabers for some epicness, although their regular weapons are already soooooo awesome!
@@LordsoftheSithPodcast Yeah, I agree. So excited to see them in action!
Kylo Ren's photo looks like it's from the previous shootings from TLJ and they've just photoshopped his costume grey. :/
That's a possibility.
Idk they might just be making the content because they know that the reylos are gonna make theory videos on it 😂 no shade, but it does give them free publicity
If we're important enough that they want to cater to us, that's a great sign.
They had a prime opportunity for some LGBT representaation, but nah we gotta get the Chinese markets
Yeah... it's a pity.
It is just I wish an actor or an director from the movie was the one who said, " Star Crossed: not Vanity Fair .................
Sure, but cast and crew have tons of positive quotes. They need to keep people guessing! For us it's important to see that the media is no longer disrespecting us as fans, and that Vanity Fair is perhaps trying to make up for 2 years ago.
Spoiler alert! According to an insider leak it has just revealed that Han Solo is Rey’s father making Ben and Rey half siblings!!!
Debunked
Mothergoose yeah I know sucks though really wanted it to be true
@@thehonorablelordrevan7660 I honestly dont care if they are related. But only from a way that doesnt spit on the characters/memories of Luke/Leia/Han. Which I dont know how they'd possibly be able to feasibly pull off. So I'm team I think they're not related at this point.
Star crossed lovers? What? So one day she watches him kill Han Solo and tells him he’s a monster and try’s to kill him, the next she’s being all girly when he has his shirt off, Han and Leia deserve this title not this load of rubbish
Please no Reylo!! I’m sick and tired of Star Wars having love stories
Sorry for you because Star Wars is not about spaceships according to George Lucas. But about family, love (in all ways), failure, human nature, hope, redemption and finally forgiveness...
Claire Mallet really? Last time I checked rogue one was pretty good and the female lead didn’t need a love interest and it worked fine
The honorable Lord Revan Rogue One is great, a favorite of mine. Jyn & Cassian had a pretty romantic ending.
Pucka J. Rogue one did not have a romantic ending there was no romance between jyn and cassian
