    Hi Matti, I do like the 100MP, very good for cropping a large part of an image without worrying about loosing quality. Impressive 1TB of internal storage I like that, and it sure is a unique design. I like to see cameras that I haven't seen before and learned a bit about the features. And you are spot on Matti when you say it has a fun factor. Thanks for this video and enjoy using it and having fun with it. 😊📸

    From some of the reviews I've seen, one nice thing with the new back is that they put quite a bit of effort into improving the experience of using it on a classic V series body. WIth the previous one you had to put the mirror up and use the screen for everything. WIth the new one it does actually respond to the V systems shutter, so you can compose probably with the waste level finder.

    I really enjoyed your video. Some pictures it looked like it could of dropped the ISO and kept a reasonable shutter speed even at your chosen aperture. Did you change minimum shutter speeds as you were walking around?

      Thanks for watching! I only changed the aperture and did not change anything else. I just wanted to get some shots for the video after I had picked up the camera.

    Thanks Matti, you always entertain and elicit thought into gear options. Cost keeps digital MF a mystery to many of us however I’d like to see a company like Pentax take on an ‘affordable’ medium format camera option. They have the DNA with their 645 and like to operate on the margins with their recent film point and shoot and Monochrome DSLR offerings, and the marvelous Ricoh GR line up.

    A square sensor on this body style would have been truly amazing.

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  2 месяца назад +1

      That is true but that would have required a special sensor and probably upped the price too. If you crop square you still have 76.4Mp.

    You made me very nervous walking around without a strap. They might not let you borrow any more cameras if you'd dropped it onto concrete 😢
    I used to have a Mamiya 645 (pre shiny black plastic) and although it was a superb camera it didn't suit my walkaround/street photography style as it was too awkward to handle and heavy. It's really best suited to studio or landscape where you could use a tripod. I think that also applies to your Hasselblad, which is why the lack of image stabilisation wouldn't be a problem for the typical user. (A friend used to have one of the Mamiya 6×7 cameras, I can't remember whether it was an RB or RZ, and that really was only suitable for tripod use.)
    In contrast to your comment about the term "medium format" I have heard people complain that it wasn't appropriate for Hasselblad and Fujifilm to use it because the sensor is smaller than a 120 film frame. (Also, maybe one day soon someone will make an 8in × 10in full plate digital camera 😄)

      I have done photography since 1979 both as a pro and hobby photographer, I have had many more accidents with camera gear mounted with straps than without ! Now I never use straps ! A Hasselblad 6x6 handles better than a Mamiya 645.

    MTF = Micro format, APSC = Mini format, "full frame"= Medium format and 33x44mm sensors = Large format, larger formats = Grand format 😉 Like this Matti !? If larger sensors arrive, it could be Super Grand format 😊 Phones can just be BAD format 🤣

    It is just too expensive for what you do not get compared to the Hasselblad X2D, not to mention the Fuji GFX 100SII !!! The digital back should have had a much lower price without the 907X body, then it will be good for old Hasselblad cameras. At least it should be able to mount a very good EVF on the digital back and/or a waist level finder with a 5x loupe on the screen monitor in style with with good old 6x6 Hasselblad Cameras ! Now you mentioned IBIS, I do think with good engineering that they could have made it with IBIS. So if they make a version 2 with a very good EVF, a waist level finder and a very good IBIS, then I may get one if the price are more moderate (in line with Fuji GFX Cameras !!!).

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  3 месяца назад

      You can buy older backs used for a reasonable money and mount them on an old Hasselblad😀

    • @cameraprepper7938
      @cameraprepper7938 3 месяца назад

      @@mattisulanto They are not 100 megapixels. The point is that the 907x wit digital back are too expensive, the back should be sold at a much lower price to really catch someone like me. But I will most likely pass anyway, because I will miss the whole 6x6cm square format. So the if I would get a 33x44mm sensor, it would be in a camera like the Fuji GFX100SII which now have a more moderate price. I think if more buy cameras with the 33x44mm sensor, the price of those cameras will drop even more.

    • @mattisulanto

      @@cameraprepper7938 I'm sure the price is a result of a careful consideration. If not enough people buy it they'll either lower the price or cancel the product. We tend to think that everything we can't afford is too expensive and that there should be more products tailored specifically for us😀 However, that's not the way the world works.

      @@mattisulanto I know how companies think, but that do not make it cheaper, that product are overprized, just compare it to DJI/"Hasselblad"´s own X2D, it is even worse compared to the fair price for the Fuji GFX100S, with the cut down in services for Hasselblad in several countries, DJI have shown that they are nor as reliable as Fuji !

    A expensive STUDIO camera using for streetphotography???? This is made for product, fashion and commercial photography, to blow images up to huge formats, a missed opportunity for mr Matti😊

    @ВалентинАракчеев-б7д 3 месяца назад +2

    This camera is interesting only because it exists as a technical product that can be used by one person out of a thousand. In practice, this camera is simply not needed, because few people do advertising photography, and for everyday life there are plenty of good cameras that are much cheaper and more convenient to use.

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  3 месяца назад

      Thanks for your thoughts. How do you define "needed"? To take photos we don't need any digital cameras. To survive life we don't need a camera at all😀

      @ВалентинАракчеев-б7д 3 месяца назад

      @@mattisulanto You have somewhat distorted my thoughts.
      The essence of my statement is not that we do not need digital cameras, because the main thing is that a person has a desire to take pictures and that a person can express himself through photography, show something unusual in everyday things.
      And whether to take pictures with a camera costing more than 11 thousand dollars or a smartphone does not matter.

    • @mattisulanto
      @mattisulanto  3 месяца назад

      @@ВалентинАракчеев-б7д I understand your point😀 My point is that to embrace photography you don't even need a digital camera. So basically you could say that all but the very basic film cameras are not needed. But, some like to use a smartphone camera, some like to use a digital Hasselblad and some prefer a film camera of some sort. I like that we can choose a camera that we like instead of having to use a smartphone camera or a basic film camera.

    • @ВалентинАракчеев-б7д
      @ВалентинАракчеев-б7д 3 месяца назад

      @@mattisulanto Yes, I agree with you that every person should have a choice.
      But you must agree that a photographer should consciously approach the choice of a camera, because for street photography a person would rather choose a Ricoh GR camera than a Hasselblad, and for traveling - lighter equipment, say, micro 4/3, than a full-frame camera and lenses.
      And for traveling, for some people, a smartphone will probably be enough.

      @@ВалентинАракчеев-б7д We can only speak for ourselves when it come to gear preferences. What you suggest is probably what many would do but not everyone.
