Exploração sustentável seria o replantio de 10 árvores da mesma espécie, para cada uma tirada.
Ese árbol está cortado hace muchísimos años. Y en el transcurso del viaje desde donde se tira al agua hasta el aserradero. Se quédo hundido y lo han sacado ahora.. Por eso cuesta muchísimo esa madera, hay q buscar el árbol hundido y sacarlo a flote,es un trabajo muy difícil.

African blackwood I see. About 60 years to grow. Heavily plundered and illegally harvested. Very rare. As such extremely exspensive. Quotes run the gambit. Ive heard $22 a foot, and not necessarily new recent prices. May be even more expensive now. Beautiful wood. But if we don't find a better way to preserve it in the areas it grows, it may one day be beyond reach for good. Sustainable practices are necessary. It doesn't have to be either or, but there does need to be limits on the greed, and safeguards for the species, or the people of the world will loose out on its bounty in the future.
Addendum:
After careful review, I have come to the conclusions that this is some species of Dalbergia. I.E in the rosewood family. Not necessarily African Blackwood specifically, as I do not have enough information provided, to prove its identity definitely one way or the other, beyond any doubt.
I've seen variation in color and grain that could make this one of a couple memebers of that genus. So, this was my best identification given the information provided. And what we've been shown. As for which specific species of rosewood, There's not enough information to identify it beyond a shadow of any doubt.
Take my identification as you will. Its was my best educated guess from a bunch of detail lacking information. I make no claim to its perfect accuracy. Could be one of a couple. But as they say its the most exspensive, that would be African Blackwood. If thats not accurate, then just going by its look, grain, and coloring; im fairly certain its a member of one of the Dalbergia family, at the very least. Thanks for your time and consideration.
I’d be happy to pay $22 a foot. It’s more like $160 a board foot at the local hardwood store

That is some beautiful wood. The grains, colors everything about it. I would love to build a set of tables with that. Kitchen and coffee tables. Simply amazing. I thought water logged cypress was beautiful until this.
I believe this is Kingwood- if it is, trust me those would be expensive tables… ran me $75/bdft and that was a few years ago

No wood rots under water. Im pretty sure Thats why this was wet before sawing it. Most all saw mills keep logs wet till the price gets up where they want it before sawing it because being water logged preserves them

It is beautiful after cutting in the beginning I thought teak or mahogany but then I saw the inside! Please harvest responsibly! I'm not for climate control but I am for earth friendly and planting 3 of what you take!
Some of the most conservative gun hungry people I know are also the most conservation savvy people I know. You can’t sell wood that doesn’t exist. So long term investment are needed. Ie rich people with lots of money and land make this possible. As bad as that sounds.
What you described is a form a climate control though. It’s sounds like your afraid to say climate control but feel safer saying earth friendly. But it’s really the same thing.
