Like you said, it’s a small test but a really important one. Thanks for explaining what you need to look for in the visual inspection and the importance and reasoning behind carrying out a tightness test when doing a positive pressure test. “Negative pushes the products out, positive sucks the air in”. I won’t forget this hopefully. Thanks Derek 👍🏻 Asian Jon. Training.
Spent the past 3 days on your channel revising for my summative exam and passed today! next step ACS. Great channel with Great examples and explanations.Thank you!
Very well done. There were a lot of Positive pressure Potterton Profiles fitted in Ireland good few years ago . Some are still going strong. I find one of greatest dangers in aging pp boiler is leaking pump and or pump valves located directly on top of the boiler causing catastrophic corrosion which is why these appliances should definitely be checked annually.👍
When I do the flue flow test and spillage I go through some parts of chimneys. I am just putting a video together about flues but it will take a long time to make as I am splitting it up between types a, b and c systems.
When using yer hands lick yer palms you'll feel the draft a lot easier. Or get a smoke generator. Told that last acs or long match. And mind wipe casing down or will leave sooty mark round case🤣🤣
My name is Mr Ratman, a service and repair steam boiler in Indonesia. success is always for you.

Thanks Derek.
If you do sweep test only than do you have still have to do tightness test as no naked flame.
Great video Derek. Great tutorial videos. Very informative and easy to understand. Thank you!
Love the blowlamp suggestion not heard that one before
Fantastic derek.
Another good video Derek! Thanks!
It's mental to think that boilers used to be positive pressure! Camilo Alcapia
Thank you, Nikola Ditsov
I use a mirror for leaks it always work,s it just fogs up it easier and don't need flame.
Best Video again from Tom Kat...
Derek, I was waiting for that boiler to burst into flames as you left the blow torch on and placed it next to the boiler..😅😅😅😅
Excellent video, very useful information as usual. Thank you. 👍👍👍👍👍

Thanks Derek, Ricky
I've looked through all your videos but cant find anything on chimneys and shared stacks does this come up in the assessment?
When I do the flue flow test and spillage I go through some parts of chimneys. I am just putting a video together about flues but it will take a long time to make as I am splitting it up between types a, b and c systems.
Many Thanks
Is this fan downstream or upstream of the heat exchanger in a positive pressure boiler?
Just think about it is the fan pushing the air in or taking the poc out once you answer that you should be able to answer your own question
@@tomkatgastraining pushing the air in so downstream. We'll explained. Thank-you sir. Love your videos.
All good stuff Derek cheers…
