- I have been using the Velocity One Flight Stick for 6 months now; here is a quick review of my thoughts on one of the latest Flight Sim Joysticks to hit the market.

Good review Shane. I’ve had my V1 stick for several months and it works great. The build quality is very good. I have mine mounted on a quick release desk mount which stabilizes it.

i got it for my birthday last year, and i love it
Nice review and just picked one up, some double sided gorilla mounting tape on all four corners keeps it nice n stable on your desk/table. Very pleased with this on xbox with MSFS 20 its all good.
This is still one of my all time favourite flight controllers.

Just picked one up. Use it primarily on Xbox and love it.
I can't play ace combat 7 on it. But it is a good stick. Had HOTAS ONE but it had a drift issue and gave it to my friend and he fixed it. I only play on XBOX-X.
Got one of these a few months back. I had many of the same impressions as you. However, I had to go back to using my Thrustmaster Flight Yoke because the Velocity, as you mentioned, is just too light. I did not like that it rises off the desktop when pushing or pulling the stick. I tried mounting a base but, even though they provided a template for the holes in the bottom, I could never get them to align perfectly enough to mount the base. Thanks for your review which confimed many of my own opinions. I did like their rudder pedals however.

I don’t use it a lot but when I do I enjoy it. Biggest issue I had with it was the button to the left and right of the trim wheel were way to sensitive so I deactivated them.

Best all round flightsim stick is the CH Products Flight Stick Pro, it’s been around for decades now, been used in military and commercial installations, simple stick made of high density plastics that last for ever, made in Southern California (at least mine is .. that may have changed by now) .. I’ve used mine for 25 years only replacing it once and then only to upgrade from the old game port plug to the USB version. Can be used left or right handed, it’s easy on the wrist if like me you suffer from wrist/hand/arm tendinitis or carpal tunnel syndrome. Its inexpensive, easy to configure, you don’t have to worry about babying it or scratching it up, it’s lightweight, doesn’t try to emulate other sticks like a Thrustmaster, Virpl, etc., it’s a good backup to have on hand if your pricey Virpl or Thrustmaster is being worked on or upgraded .. or God forbid breaks (I went through 4 Thrustmaster Cougars in the early 2000’s before giving up on em) That’s the CH Products Flight Stick Pro .. and no I don’t work for them 😬👍

i updated the firmware on the flightstick but now the 4 buttons on the right dont light up and the control ring does not light up! any help??

Its a nice stick….BUT, the throttle position easily goes out of calibration. This results in the user having to quickly bring the throttle axis all the way down to idle and then back up to the desired position. This is frustrating specially on final approach. The position sensor gets “lost” as to accuracy when making fine throttle adjustments. Just something to be aware of

For a budget stand-alone flight stick, there nothing that compares with the Thrustmaster T- Flight HOTAS X! At $60 US You get in addition to the flightstick a full size throttle that can be be side by side or separated as a separate control. There is an additional axis on the throttle handle that can be used as an alternative to the twist axis on the joystick, or a separate axis like a tiller control, All that and it's compatible with both the PC or XBOX! For the money there is no other joystick/flightstick. That is as versatile as this one! Certainly not at this low price!
I was going to buy this for the new A320v2 then they pulled the plane. No point buying anything until Xbox users have a proper plane, only been waiting 2 years for a decent plane then they pull it 🤷♂️
It has terrible non-linear centering forces. Right opposite than the "state of the art" sticks like Virpil or VKB have. You will find overreacting yoursef a lot because those non-linear forces.
VKB is also much more expensive. This isn’t a fair comparison
@@greytooth898 VKB is not much more expensive. The cheapest Gladiator costs 150 Euro. Which is almost same like TB Velocity one. Gladiator Next Evo costs 173 Euro which is only 50 Euro more than TB.
@@jaromirandel543 I got a TB Velocity One from Best Buy for $100. I won't bother converting to euros (America #1), but that's obviously much cheaper than 150 euros. The VKB Gladiator would be more than 50% more expensive. Typically the euro is worth litle bit more than the dollar, so if I cared enough to actually do the math, the VKB would be shown to be even more expensive compared to the Turtle Beach.
The VKB, Virpil, Warthog etc..aren't Xbox compatible, and are all in a different price range, as you quoted prices for the stick only, so by the time you add in a throttle, it'll definitely apples to oranges. That said, PC users have much better options, so yes, it's kind of a waste of time to buy this stick when you can get something much, much better in the $200-$300 range. But for Xbox users, this is a huge stick upgrade compared to other offerings around $100-$150, when the next step up is the few limited yoke packages for $400+. It blows away others in it's class (Xbox/$125) It's not going to compete with high end PC sticks. One shouldn't expect it to.

No, not "one of the best" at all. DO NOT get this if you are on PC. You have way better options. THis guy has only used turd sticks, he doesn't know good vs bad.
