I just found your channel. Thank you for the video on tips for using the new perforated cover. I have a few kits with this new feature but haven't completed one yet. I look forward to trying it out. Good grief, people will complain about new things a lot, but it often takes some time to accept change... if they don't like it, then don't use it.
You are most welcome! I hope you find some of the tips helpful when you complete your first kit. And it’s a very new channel so I’m glad you found me and I hope you’ll continue to check it out. I’m learning a lot right now, too! 😁Thank you!
Your suggestions are so helpful! I am amazed at how many complaints people have for a company actually trying to make improvements for their customers. Geez- so if you don’t like it , pretend it didn’t change! You can’t please everyone all the time. Love your channel- I really enjoy WIP and chats ❤
I agree. I’m really excited to see their new advancements when they come out. I miss the option on the older kits and they aren’t even that “old” since this is such a new advancement. What I love about it is you can use it or not use it. So I really don’t get the big deal either. Thanks for watching. I do hope the suggestions are helpful.
Thank you so much for sharing all the tips you have about using DAC new plastic perforated cover sheets. I have a few canvases with them on them but I haven't tried any out as yet for myself. I am looking forward to trying them out. I have used a ceramic blade like yours for the past 3 years and recently started using so seam ripper to cut the plastic. It makes it so much more easier to use.
This is the first video I've seen giving tips for the new cover, thanks so much. 😘 I've hit button and bell and am looking for more of your videos. 😊 Greetings from Germany ❤
Yay! Thank you! That means a lot to me. I’m very new so I don’t have a lot of content yet but keep trying to post things as I think of them and have time. So cool to hear you’re from Germany, too! Both sides of my family have heritage there. My great grandparents still spoke German. I dream to visit someday.
Thank you so much for sharing your process with the perforated plastic sheet with us! I used to used a ceraminc edge blade as well. Now I use a seam ripper to cut my plastic sheet and it's so much easier to do and it protects the canvas as well. A seam ripper makes cutting the plastic so very easy. 🐥🐦🦅
I really think that helps too! I actually really like the option of the perforated cover. Now when I work on ones that don’t have it, I miss it 🤷♀️ Thanks for watching!
I really think it’s a nice option to have and I miss it when I don’t have it now (which most of my kits still don’t have it). I’m excited to see the improved one with lines they’re making
I like the perforated cover. I remove about four sections of the clear cover at a time and lay down release paper on the canvas so I don’t get oily skin on the glue. This works much better for me because I dislike Washi tape and I can move the release paper where needed. Very easy control
@@terigerrish70 love that! I like to remove 4 squares at once too. But mostly because I prefer a larger section so I switch colors less. But I love the release paper idea. May try that.
@@amygray5150 I love it too! After working on a newer kit with the perforated cover and then going to one without it, I’m always a bit bummed but… that’s going to happen for a while until I work through all the older kits. In this video I’m working on Purnell by Richard Lorenz. Huge Lorenz fan! And thank you so much!
Thanks for this video, I found it very helpful. I'm currently working on one of the new perforated canvases, and I've noticed that the canvas is definitely not laying flat. I've never had that problem before with a DAC. I've tried lifting the cover and smoothing it back down, but that doesn't help. I'm confident that as I place more diamonds, it will flatten out, but while I am placing, the canvas is definitely not flat. Have you experienced that? Thanks! 😊🐦
How large is the canvas you’re working on? I have not had that issues with the couple I’ve worked on with this cover but I also have a “system” and usually do large canvases on an easel. So the bottom stays rolled until it’s time to work on it and by then the top has diamonds and is flat. The only time I’ve had issues with curling is on the smaller canvases or older ones that were rolled more tightly. But even then they’d lay flat with time or lifting the cover and of course those didn’t have the perforated cover. Thanks for watching. So glad you found it helpful. Good luck!
Thank you! Nice suggestions. I rather like what they have done. But most people don't like change & will find fault with it no matter what. You know the old saying 'you can't please everyone' is so true. People just like to complain 😅 Have a great day.🦜

Thank you so very much! I just started my RUclips channel in January too and am still learning all of that stuff. Is that the appropriate way to mention another creator in your videos? “Tag” them? Did DAC fix the gapping issue on their new round drills? I have old round kits and new round kits, and the newer ones are terrible in terms of gapping. I really hope they have fixed that issue, as the older rounds were chef's kiss perfect!
I have no idea. Sorry. Most of the rounds I’ve been doing have been old kits and I guess I haven’t noticed an issue with the new ones. What problem are you having? Maybe I had it but just didn’t notice it since I haven’t done that many. I do square whenever I can 🤷♀️
@Rubies_And_Moonstones the newer round kits with the new drills (from around the past 12 months) have major gapping issues. They don't fit nicely together like the older kits, so it's hard to get them lined up properly. Lucky I have lots of older rounds to go on with anyway!
@@theimperfectscrapper5313 hmmm. I guess I haven’t done enough rounds to really notice. I’ll have to pay more attention. I think all the ones I kitted up would be “old”. One for sure. Thanks for the heads up

The washi tape worked like a charm! The sections were less stressful to work on and much more enjoyable.
