If it wasn’t so large and hadn’t come all the way across the pond, I might have done something different. But I think it will turn out great. Thanks for watching!!
I have the same problems with a canvas that has been in storage for a while and I wasn't sure what to do. This is the 2nd time you have saved me. Thank you. I am so glad I found your channel.
Hi Daphne! I’ve watched you, just not commenting as much. I have used DSA in a few AliExpress pictures. I pretty much did what you did. You did AH-MAZING for such a huge canvas. I learn so much from you and the other influencers I watch. I want to take this time again to thank you for all the hard work you gave us this year. It does not go unappreciated. Have a wonderful Christmas!
I have never had a poured glue canvas, have basically avoided them! I think you did a great job dealing with your canvas issues. Thanks for the informative video! Merry Christmas to you and your family!!
I just bought a double-sided adhesive from Ali Express (the same kind on the canvas in 10 cm, and I carefully just pull up a hold section and put down new tape. I have found that once it lifts, it constantly lifts. And this is too much money and time to play with tape . And I do a lot of double-sided adhesive canvas. My last 6 canvas were double-sided adhesive. I love all of the canvas, but double-sided should be hung up as soon as you get it. But I did not know that. From know own I will hang up my canvas. Most of mine are 90x70 or larger 😮
When I buy clothes that have a plastic hanger with squeeze clips at each end, I hang my canvas behind my door on a hook between working on it. This seems to help unrolling.
Great work! I never would have guessed that you were concerned about it not working for you. I have a few kits in my stash with double-sided adhesive and your tips and tricks will definitely help if I run into similar issues. Happy holidays and wishing you joy of the season. ❤
Hi Daphne. Thank you for posting this. It really takes me back to when I first started diamond painting. I still have a dozen Aliexpress paintings that I have to work on. It's a bit nostalgic to see you using an exacto knife to pop the bubbles and rivers being flattened. The blue and white paper holds a place with me. I have to be honest though, I did just 1 DAC painting and I haven't touched any of my Aliexpress paintings. LOL. Do you have a video of how you make your cover sheets? I would love to give that a try. Happy Diamond painting
One time I ordered a large diamond painting from alie. Rivers allover and so many bad drills, I never finished it. 😐 Do you have a video for making cover sheets? I couldn't find any on RUclips. Thank you for your awesome video's. 💜
I do not recommend ironing it, I’ve been diamond painting over 10 years. So I have a lot of experience with DSA. Irons even on lower settings can melt the adhesive. I ruined a few canvases trying that method. I have tried moistening the back of the canvas lightly, and then placing books on top & that works just as good if there are any serious wrinkles. But I’ve only ever misted the canvas, nothing more. It helps to relax the canvas. The one canvas I tried to remove the DSA, I ended up pulling up some of the ink that was printed on the canvas, so I chose not to do that again. Best of luck! Take your time & enjoy ☺️ I have one last DPD kit in my stash I look forward to doing someday soon
Liz Harrison scottie dog crafts has done a few videos about DSA. Very interesting and informative ones. Maybe they would be useful too. The other things I’ve wondered about DSA is, a lot of book binder creator’s use poured glue in conjunction with the DSA and their projects don’t have issues with using both glue’s. Why wouldn’t it work with Aleene's Tack-It Over & Over Liquid Glue? I don’t know if you’d want to try it on such a big project, but maybe trying it on a test piece first. It might give you some answers about it? Like using the double sided adhesive overage on the edge of that canvas so you would know if it works on that particular DSA? I don’t know. It’s just a thought.
They can both absolutely work together if lack of adherence is the problem. For me, the problem is the rivers and puckers, where the DSA/canvas is not flat and if I tried to place drills, they would wobble and not sit properly. If I run into issues with the stickiness of the DSA, then I can deal with it, but I haven’t found that to be the case yet. Thanks for watching!!!
Great video. I have a Deutschland canvas coming and do you think if I look At the canvas after it arrives am I less likely to have the rivers? Just trying to get a plan after it arrives?
I don’t know, honestly. But someone else commented that hanging DSA up immediately can be helpful to avoid rivers and the like. Also, opening it asap means you’ll know right away if you are missing anything if there is a warranty. Thanks for watching!
Great tips. I also have three double sided adhesive canvases and have never worked with it. I’m so happy to know that I can still enjoy them. Two of them are from Diamond Painting Deutschland…Josephine Wall:)
You have way more patience than I would have. This is exactly why I avoid double sided tape canvases.

Good for you being able to fix the canvas. DSA frustrates me. You are a trooper!
Thanks for watching!!

I’ve heard a lot of tips about DSA, but not to hang it asap. Thanks for watching!!

I avoid double sided glue like the plague. I’ve replaced the glue with DD glue twice. That has worked well
I want to try replacing the DSA with glue, but on a smaller scale first! Thanks for watching!!

I had a back up plan, but glad I didn’t need it! Thanks for watching!!
