Is the "polar" still in the making, with this beautiful case? I'd try a mod myself, but not expert in where to find a dial, hands and bezel...so basically all the parts needed! :/
Similar in quality and finishing. I prefer this for the thinner case, and more importantly a proper 1655 case with crown guards and polished sides. The Seestern just uses the BB pro case the sugess uses.
I’d be a buy for the RCW project if it has half links included! It’s one of the things that I love about the Proxima watch that a lot of the other Chinese watches are missing. I can never get quite the right fit with my San Martins, and that includes the ones with the on the fly adjustments. Any watch in my collection that has half links fit perfectly. Just a suggestion for those with in-between wrist sizes!

I love this watch, but come on $275, similar configuration start at $70 with a better clasp (glide lock). Also, the anchor logo makes no sense (this is not a dive watch). I have to pass!

Really good review. I ordered one based on another review and I can't wait to get it. The original Rolex is one of the best looking watches of all time. Good luck with the RCW Polar Explorer homage. I'd be very interested in one if you can get it made. Personally, I don't mind the Rolex style case backs - they're very comfortable. I only wish Hruodland had gone with a brushed case back rather then the polished.
Couldn't agree with you more over the slim design of the case, really good especially for a GMT. I have to say that the Proxima PX1697 you were wearing is still the gold standard for this style of watch in my opinion. I can't believe how good it looks and wears. Any news on the RCW project? If you ever get a deal with some watch manufacturers please give text and fonts the same attention as to the rest of the watch. Most homage watches on the market neglect fonts (size, type, printing, placement…) and text (what is written on the dial and what that text means). Also is important text on the bracelet. Small details are something that makes a difference between a good watch and an excellent one. I hope that your project will see the light of the day. I will be the first to buy it. 😊

The other day I came across a watch that'd be perfect for homaging - the Doxa Sub 750t GMT. Out of production, rare and a case shape similar to the ever popular Sub 300. I reckon they'd get a LOT of interest from that with an NH34.

I'd buy a polar dial explorer homage immediately. They don't even make good rolex replicas of this case style so you really have to go genuine to get this style. White dial with red gmt hand and I'm in.

If the Hruodland hand/dial colouring was all-white as opposed to the fautina, it would be a perma-wear for me. As for the RCW Project, that is very much something that I would be waiting for, wishing you every success with that watch.
Projecr RCW needs to happen. Id be one of your first customers. All of the original designs in the gmt affordable space are either too big, not visually appealing, or too expensive. This watch is exactly what ive been looking for. I hope you can make it happen

Quick story: I was trying to get out of the homage space. But I think they've ruined me lol. Bought a Hamilton Khaki Auto 38 for my birthday and quickly returned it.

From the macro footage alone you can just tell this is not only a more affordable alt to the Rolex Explorer 2 from back then, but a higher quality alt as well. Just look at those surfaces!

I'll ask for sure. Typically any changes to the case requires re-tooling which is when we get into minimum order quantity issues...I guess it's quite expensive. But again, I'll ask
I'll be all for it.100% . but I would prefer male end links it's my favorite feature of the oyster case and bracelet. too many brands are making female en links ( some even hideous like SM sn oo4, 021 etc). if you put a hexagonal logo it would also be a no for me .
Would love to see a reboot of the RCW project. I think the availability of the NH34 will be a game changer this time around.

I want use miyota 9075 movement for GMT watch.
Its a homage to the Steve McQueen so it shouldn't have AR. The text i guess is to homage the original.

Don't think a conventional caseback is an less comfortable but would be much easier to tighten/remove.
