Might want to inform noobs like myself that Telnet is a feature that is not enabled by default in Win10 and needs to be turned on. Took me 20 min to figure that out.
Yikes thought it was. For those looking: Open "Control Panel > Programs" and select "Turn Windows features on or off" under "Programs and Features". Then in the Windows Features list, select "Telnet Client". Make sure it's ticked, click Apply and telnet should be available once it's done. Just re--open CMD for it to be available
@@TroubleChute For security reasons, if ANYONE enables Telnet on ANY machine, you should make sure your firewall on that machine is blocking port 23 from any inbound traffic not from the local host. i.e. Any traffic source IP that is not on your loopback address; for IPv4 that's 127.0.0.1 -- in this case you would add a deny rule for port 23 (if it's not already there), with an exception above it for port 23 with a source of 127.0.0.1. I'm assuming they used telnet instead of ssh for convenience
Thanks for such a high quality guide. I just got done updating an old computer for a home game server and your video was the easiest part of all of it!
I really wished that you put the instructions in the description so I do have to keep tabbing back and forth to understand what you are saying very quickly then having to go back pause switch tabs again , go back repeat lol also many people may not know that telnet isnt enabled in win 10 or 22 you need to turn it on. in any case followed these instructions but I cannot connect to it , I just get message server timed out whne trying to connect . if i try localhost I just hear my clicking on the join lol if i could figure this out then I would load up the server on my other PC
Is it possible to create a server with this very good guide for Satisfactory, or is that not possible? Will you be releasing anything else about Satisfactory?
silly me having issues connecting and I was using port 877 instead of 8777 lol. now I am wondering if I can move my SP player to the server I think it an be done like in ARK survivor I did this but that was a few yars back not sure if I remember how lol
I followed the instructions exactly, but when it comes time to start the server, a window pops up for about 1 second and is almost instantly gone (too fast to read what it says). I am stuck at getting the server started.
Hello, help me with a question, I'm trying to create a dedicated server with mods, but I enter all the mod IDs and only the first one loads, I thought it could be an error in the mod initialization command but I tried different ways and without success I'm using it the command -Mod="MODID,MODID,MODID,MODID".... I believe that the command is not wrong since the first mod is loading and the following ids are not already try placing the command -Mod= in each of the ids and it still doesn't load, can you tell me what it could be?
Can you Pls do a video on how to transfer Local coop data to the dedicated server. Theres info online how to do it but gets confusing without seeing it actually done pls help
I'm having a bit of bother starting the server using the .Bat file... it will not start, so i try to start it in Admin and i get "windows could not find WSServer.exe. The WSServer.exe file is there in the folder and so i try using that to launch the server... and no joy. Is there anyone out there that can help me with this... been on Steam, no joy... wiped and re-downloaded, same problem. Any help would be great guys. ;)
gawd dangit, too much shite to make the followers keep working when I'm not logged in Also the command in the video for the updating bat file doesnt have the "Validate" segment as is shown in the webpage that contains all the commands used in the video, does this changes anything?
So I love the video and got it running but am having trouble updating my server now. I would appreciate some help thanks a ton. :) Never-mind I found it haha. Just had to look better.
Thanks for the guide, i need help to configure how to run Soulmask server with no steam auth (both steam and nosteam friend can join in one server). Anyone can help? Something like remove steam auth when user want to connect to Soulmask server, and which file I need to change the setting? Thanks in advance.
Closing with Ctrl+C should be equivalent to clicking the X. The official wiki mentioned by the devs say this is the way to do it (with telnet). It's annoying as it didn't seem to exit at all when I did it a few times, but it's what they suggest :(
@@Maveroik ya does not work for me either for closing, but it does save world. i then go to the server window and do the ctrl-c a few times and it closes server. ideally id like a way of saving without doing this. im going to do some testing.
doesnt work, endlessly crashes every time on booting BAT> been running servers for game since Ark survival released in 2015 kekw. i know what im doing. games broken, refunded, lack of any support, F on all fronts

i followed the directions, but the dedicated server did not load into the steamapps/common folder. no file for the startbat either
When i run the copied bat file to start the server, it doesn't launch the server.

Note: All of the files and folders look like what is shown in the video, so it looks like everything is good, just wont stay up.
I feel like this might be slightly out of date, and they have changes some set up settings it feels like

does ctrl-c not save when closing server, saw in another setup to just do that? could be more simple than the telnet alternative?
